Completely agreed. However, sometimes in the course of a conversation it helps to understand just how personally invested a person is in the outcome. That was the reason for my question.
I hope that one day, you can find a less brain-numbing way to make a living. I'm sure you'd do well for yourself.

These people are NOT a Cindy! They are demonstrating for a good cause! The stopping of socialism just remember that.
This is a demonstration to help Americans to support our troops, how you may ask? Our troops are fighting to secure America and all Americans while we allow the enemy of the state to freely enter our borders?
There are millions of illegals roaming our streets, bringing in illegal drugs and who knows what else. I honor our troops and join them in the fight to secure America and we start by securing our borders.
Make no mistake, the leaders of the groups who demonstrate against us with illegals actually had the audacity to say and I quote
" Capitalism is not working in America, we want socialism"
that statement absolutely sent shudders down my spine.
There is an insurgency of illegals who come in thru our borders (key word) ILLEGALLY! Do you really believe they have legal thoughts toward our country and all we stand for??
In addition, there is no question whatsoever that many illegal immigrants are here for less than stellar reasons, AND (this is important) that many liberal and leftists Americans are trying to promote Socialism ON THE BACKS of illegal immigrants, who become an abused underclass in this society...but are presented as poverty stricken Americans. It is wrong morally, it is wrong fundamentally.
The people involved in protesting this are GOOD, honest, hardworking Americans who live with this problem day in and day out. Of COURSE they are NOT Cindy. There is no question about that in my mind whatsoever.
BUT! If we use the tactics of the left, we run the risk of being perceived to be like Cindy! That is exceedingly dangerous in the advancement of the issue. If we come to be perceived (not by the msm or other leftists) as "fringers" or "extremists" like Sheehan is, the cause will be damaged as a result as middle of the road Americans become confused and embarrassed by "those slightly crazy people." Suddenly, we find ourselves marginalized, ineffective and dismissed as racist or bigoted. Exactly what we do NOT want to happen
THAT is my concern. We must approach this with steady, clear, concise information. We need a plan that is not reactionary, but lays out the foundation for a long term policy. We can not EVER play into the hands of those who want to make us look like crazy gun waving Archie Bunkers.
There is no doubt that the rally in Crawford has a HUGE possibility of doing just that. Again, it is not about being right, it is about managing the twisting power of the main stream media.
Regular Americans are easily frightened by fringe "movements." Making sure that this is not presented or perceived that way is absolutely essential to it's success.
Do not take this personally...but we need to start understanding that when others do not believe the exact same things we do, we can't over react. This rally is a gross overreaction, and will limit our ability to actually make serious and significant progress on this issue.
Lindsay Graham is not a man I am proud to quote, but yesterday (I think) he was DEAD ON ACCURATE when he stated there are just as many people who want absolutely NOTHING done as there are people who want a WALL built tomorrow. Neither side is going to budge one single iota on that.
In this particular case, we either go with something...or we will get nothing. Like it or not, that is where it stands right now. Let's get something—and then keep pushing for a little something more...and eventually we will get to where we all are going.
