A CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll released on Monday put President George W. Bush's approval rating at 36 percent, a new low for that poll but similar to his rating in other recent surveys.
The poll, taken Friday through Saturday, showed Bush's approval rating dropped from 38 percent in late February-early March.
Two-thirds, 67 percent, of respondents thought Bush did not have a clear plan for handling the situation in Iraq, said the poll of 1,001 adults, which had a margin of error of 3 percentage points.

Yea, but I used to think the same way when polls showed no support for impeachment of Clinton. Every day Freepers hypnotized themselves into thinking the polls were not only inaccurate but wildly inaccurate. Soon it became clear that the polls were more accurate than they were inaccurate.
These polls showing Dubya at remarkably low approval are more accurate than inaccurate.. Disregard them at your own peril.

"The message is clear: Bush is a widely unpopular president of late."With midterm elections just months away.
People who do not believe that Bush's low popularity with the American voter will have a negative impact on Congressional elections are just simply fools.

I can't believe that we still have some otherwise intelligent people on this forum haven't learned enough about how polling actually works, to keep from swallowing this bait.

I am inclined to agree. That being said, he can turn it around.
He actually has to try, though.

People who do not believe that Bush's low popularity with the American voter will have a negative impact on Congressional elections are just simply fools. On the contrary, it's quite foolish to think that polls today have anything to do with how people will vote EIGHT MONTHS away.
Sheesh. Every here of the "October surprise"? If you were smart about politics you'd know that public sentiment can change dramatically in 3 weeks.

Ok. But, you're still disregarding who is doing the polling and how they're doing the polling and how they're reaching their desired results. An agendized poll will never be scientific or accurate.

I think Rasmussen does poll "likely voters" and I think his poll is the best because he polls daily and runs a three day average. The question never changes.

So where are the agenda-ized polls on the right, showing Dubya at low to mid 50s approval?
They don't exist.

Take this one and shove it up with the others.

All presidents poll poorly in their sixth year in office...That's why midterm elections often swing over to the other party.
