Seems Jill Carroll is refusing to talk to authorities concerning her captives. She already has been caught lying in her post release interview where she says she was not threatened, since she was on video with AK- 47's trained on her head. Stokholm syndrome???? I'm not buying it...how about you?
I honestly don't know why they let people like Jill Carroll go to a place like Iraq. In my opinion, if you're not prepared to die, don't do dangerous things. I don't know if she's (1) traumatized by her experience (2) a peacenik who will do anything to further pet causes (3) an idiot who has no common sense or (4) something else I'd care not to think about a fellow human being.
I think this young woman is so enamored with the culture and people there that they could have bitch-slapped her everyday and she would still say they treated her well. I smell a rat as well and feel that this was all Islamic propoganda-maybe not intentionally on her part but they smelled a sucker and used it. I am hoping that she is keeping her mouth shut to possibly protect other hostages whom they have threatened to kill if she talks.
Remember last year when they found that 14 year old girl with that old scraggly looking couple? Sorry, I can't remember the names. She lied for the 1st week, once she was detached from the situation for a week or so, she started to open up and told the truth of what happened.
Since she was still captive, I'll wait till she's home before condemning the little idjit.
I'm glad I wasn't the only one who was thinking this. Everything about this "abduction" and her statements yesterday is totally inconsistent with the jihadists' methods.

Before I make up my mind concerning Jill Carroll I'm waiting for her to hit the talk show circuit. She'll be on the AM talk shows, probably as early as next week. Barbara Walters, rest assured (as I type this), is trying to get an exclusive interview. The only thing precluding Jill Carroll not appearing on a AM talk show ... is her agreeing to an exclusive interview, in which case she'll appear on the AM shows, Larry King Live, etc., after the exclusive.

The translator was a Christian...hence he got offed in the name of Allah. She is part and parcel to the whole thing IMO.
I think the whole story is BS, I'd be far more suprised to find out it was true than I would be to find out it was a set-up.
I'm not sure what to believe in all of this, but as far as the Iraqi interpreter being killed goes - in a "normal" set-up kidnapping I would say that doesn't fit. In an Islamic terrorist set-up kidnapping, the interpreter could have been in on it. He could have volunteered to go join Allah and get his virgins. You can't view anything that has terrorists involved as you would in any other situation because these people are just too far out there on the insane scale.

The whole story reminds me of that dopey German hostage (Susanne Osthoff) that the idiot German government paid ransom money for... later to find some of the money (marked bills) in the possession of the lunatic hostage woman.
Then she does some interview on German television dressed up in the wackiest taliban ninja getup, and she went on ranting all sorts of crazy pro-islamic crap...
