Sen. John McCain gave a big thumbs up last night to demonstrators planning to march across the Brooklyn Bridge today in support of comprehensive immigration reform. "If such demonstrations continue, I think we will have a bill for the President to sign soon," the Arizona Republican declared at an Irish and American flag-studded town hall meeting in the Bronx sponsored by the Irish Lobby for Immigration Reform.
"The more debate, the more demonstrations, the more likely we will prevail," he told more than 3,000 cheering supporters - many clad in green-and-white shirts - who packed the St. Barnabas High School auditorium in Wakefield

You've got to be kidding me.
Is that what you really believe these invaders are?
I cannot understand why the citizens of Arizona, where illegal immigration has been a major problem for many years, keeps returning McCain to the Senate.
They tried to run a conservative, anti-immigration activist against him a few years ago (Parks?), but the effort never went anywhere, if I'm not mistaken.
I don't give a flip how long the process does or doesn't take--it is the only acceptable solution. ALL OTHERS should be deported. And there should be felony penalties applicable to ANYONE who assists them in either coming here, or living here, illegally.
I cannot accept my hard earned wages going to support my landscapers 8 dollar an hour workforce.
Apparently, our senators don't mind the fact that they are pushing us to the brink of anarchy, and we're rapidly descending into benighted, third world status, just like our neighbor to the South.
Part of it is an abject fear of the liberal media.
Maybe another part is being inside the Washington Bubble.
As citizens, we just seem to have utterly lost control of our country.
What went wrong with our politicians is that they lust for ultimate power and greed. I wish we had a way of checking off shore bank accounts. They've probably got millions tucked away that has been paid to them by big corporations and others who have interests that they want badly enough that they are willing to pay Congress critters for their votes. Republicans and Democrats alike.
Over the years, they have passed laws that make them 'untouchable' by lawsuits and/or other liabilities. They have NO legal liability for their dirty deeds. The only way we will ever get America back is through a revolution, and that's not going to happen, because there is too much apathy in America.
They are not afraid of the media. They fear nothing, except losing their lavish way of life, so they will pander to whomever, whenever they have to in order to obtain their selfish ambitions. Even though it means selling America down the river.
They live in their own little world in DC where they call each other the "esteemed" or "honorable" Senator, or Congressman as they attend parties, operas and other gala events that are fit for royalty. THAT is exactly how they see themselves. They, along with the tyrants in the Judiciary and with the help of the ACLU, are destroying America, and guess what? There is not a darn thing we will do about it.
And so is George W. Bush.
Detesting the statements of one and the policies pursued by the other are not mutually exclusive.
Then you would condemn us to the status quo. The current process does not work, for us or the would be guest workers/immigrants. You know that we did have a guest worker program once upon a time. It worked pretty well. Big Labor opposed it and it was scrapped, leading to the current mess.
You can bet the current leftists in charge of the national Democratic Party will not settle for a guest worker program, they want a fast track to citizenship and voter status.
More of the same is not going to solve the problem.
We?
So is he speaking as an illegal alien, a Democrap, or a treasonous bastard who has already done enough damage to the country with the McCain/Feingold crap?
Okay, all of the above.
But wait! He's a republican. How can that be?
Is America now a country without a government? One that will abide by the will of the people and confine itself to the borders of the Constitution?
Did I say, 'borders?' Oops! Never mind. Too late.
A. It did not work.
B. It wasn't Big Labor that stopped it, although they did make their presence felt. Back then organized labor actually cared about the scab labor being imported by big Agra in order to depress the wages of skilled, union labor. They opposed-did not facilitate-the dissolution of our borders.
McCain: Stuck on Loco
Hillary stands a better chance if McCain somehow one the nomination, nobody would vote for him, but as a 3rd party, what will he take with him 3-4 PUB votes. :-)
Irish Lobby for Immigration Reform
The Irish Lobby for Immigration Reform has been set up to lobby the US government on behalf of the estimated 40,000 undocumented Irish in the US.
This is what The New York Times had to say about the bill:
The best hope so far comes from the Senate, where thoughtful members are looking at variations on Mr. Bushs comprehensive immigration reform. And the best of those so far is a bipartisan package from Senators John McCain and Edward Kennedy that promises security at the borders and a guest worker program that gives the worker some hope of eventual citizenship.

Irish lobby for US immigration reform
WNYC's Brian Lehrer show features an interview with Niall O'Dowd, publisher of the Irish Voice, and chairman of the Irish Lobby for Immigration Reform about their efforts on behalf of the estimated 11 million undocumented workers currently in the US. The Senate is embroiled in debate over several proposals that impose varying conditions for attaining guest worker status. O'Dowd says that the group has particularly pressed its views by lobbying Irish-American Senators, such as Edward Kennedy (D-MA) and John Mc Cain (R-Az), who have co-sponsored a guest worker bill that allows legalization for undocumented workers who maintain a good work record and pay a $1000 fine.

Minister Ahern announces grant of 30,000.00 for Irish Lobby for Immigration Reform
Dermot Ahern TD, Minister for Foreign Affairs, today announced a grant of 30,000 to support the work of the Irish Lobby for Immigration Reform (ILIR) in the United States. The grant is a further indication of the Government's strong support for measures which would grant legal residence status to undocumented Irish living in the US.
Announcing the grant, the Minister said that the Government is very supportive of the organisation which aims to highlight grass-root support for immigration reform and get the Irish American community involved in the immigration debate.

At St. Patrick's Day parades in San Francisco and Chicago last weekend, activists with the Irish Lobby for Immigration Reform wore white-and-green T-shirts saying "Legalize The Irish" and passed out fliers urging people to call their elected representatives in support of allowing undocumented workers to earn legal status as guest workers. Similar activism is expected at parades in other cities in coming days. (Full story)_

Chuck Schumer pledges support to the Irish Lobby for Immigration Reform
Why will any ever leave? Who's going to make them? George Bush wouldn't for five years, and won't for the next three.
Guest worker is just a sleazy way for our dishonest cowardly President to kick the can down the road to the next administration, while letting himself stammer about having "reformed" the problem - even though he will have massively increased the number of poor, uneducated third-world migrants in our homeland.
