Boycott set to support illegals
The Washington Times ^ | 4 April 2006 | Jerry Seper

Posted on 04/04/2006 1:44:12 PM PDT by Rockitz

Immigration rights organizers today will call for a nationwide boycott of work, school and shopping on May 1 to protest congressional efforts to clamp down on illegal aliens as part of pending immigration-reform legislation.

The "Great American Boycott of 2006" is only one in a series of large-scale events the protesters hope will sway lawmakers to put millions of illegal aliens on track toward permanent residency and U.S. citizenship.

"The massive March 25 march and rally in Los Angeles of well over one million immigrant workers and their supporters -- along with protests and student walkouts throughout the United States -- is irrefutable evidence that a new civil rights and workers' rights movement is on the rise," said Raul Murillo, one of the key organizers and president of the Hermandad Mexicana Nacional.

"In order to realize the goal of legalization for the millions of undocumented workers, we have the obligation to keep pressing the Congress of the United States to legislate immigration reform that grants full legalization for all immigrants."

Sarah Sloan, a spokeswoman for boycott organizers, said the boycott, additional marches and rallies in at least 30 cities nationwide beginning next week are designed to highlight opposition to House legislation that would crack down on illegal aliens.

The Act Now to Stop War & End Racism (ANSWER) coalition, which organized the Los Angeles march to win "full rights for undocumented workers," is confident its new "national action" will prove successful.

ANSWER's steering committee includes the Free Palestine Alliance, the Partnership for Civil Justice, the Nicaragua Network, the Korea Truth Commission, the Muslim Student Association, the Mexico Solidarity Network and the Party for Socialism and Liberation. It denounces as racism attempts to criminalize illegal aliens.

As suspected it appears as though the organizers of the massive pro-illegal immigrant demonstration a couple weekends ago here in LA were none other than the communist organization ANSWER. Imagine that! Now why would communists want our country overrun with illegal aliens? I wonder how the president feels about being on the same side of this issue as the communists of the ANSWER organization?

They're going to show us why they should be allowed to work here by not working.

Aye carumba.

I'm planning a boycot of illegal gardeners, painters, construction workers, etc.

I'm not hiring any.

Outrageous that criminals are "demonstrating" in the streets over their self declared and specious "rights".

I predict success along the lines of the 'Not One Red Cent' fizzlefest put on by the libs, i.e., no success at all.

"I'm planning a boycot of illegal gardeners, painters, construction workers, etc."

Question: What percentage of the people planning, organizing or planning to take part in this do you think are actually illegals?

Now that would be a great boycott...to NOT hire them,
and to make sure any company you use, that they do
not use them for labor.

I would go so far as to have it written into the contract. Anyone hiring a contractor has the right
to ask status of employees they have working for them if
you are going to hire the contractor.

Don't let anyone tell you that you don't have a right to know.

If more people boycotted illegal workers and the companies that hire them, there would be a change.

We love May Day too. We usually make a little basket of flowers and muffins, then....oh! Guess we all observe May Day differently. :-P

The problem is not just the illegals, IT IS WASHINGTON!!!

I'd shop extra on May 1 just to offset this, but I have a med test scheduled that usually leaves me a little too groggy to be shopping. (Just a follow up, nothing serious)

I wish they would boycott the United States. You gotta wonder about these politicians who think the American public is besmitten with illegal aliens. Even more confusing is politicians who will go along with them to avoid being called racists. Short term political gain for long term American pain.

"full rights for undocumented workers,"

Rights? Wow I thought that ONLY AMERICAN CITIZENS had "rights" the RIGHT TO KICK YOU and all your socialist lib friends out of MY Country!!

How dare they dictate to the Super Power, the United states of America, and make demands, we American taxpaying, voters don't even get to do that, we don't have the right to tell our government what they must do

It's beyond and more than time to show that Super Power to these socialists and tell them they will all be arrested and deported immediately as they all broke the law.

We have no idea how many have invaded, what their TRUE INTENTIONS for this country are, (don't say that they are here to work unless you can prove it and who illegally hired them!).

Shouldn't that actually be "The Great Mexican Boycott"?

My dream is that they all strike / boycott, And Real America discovers how insignificant they really are.
