Saddam Targeted American Assets For Terrorism: Case Closed Jveritas translation confirmed ....
Captain's Quarters ^ | April 8, 2006 08:45 PM | Captain Ed

A few days ago, I posted a translation of a document culled from the captured Iraqi documents that the US found during Operation Iraqi Freedom. This particular memo, dated March 17, 2001, comes from a brigadier general in the Iraqi Air Force and requests a list of volunteers from all units under his command for suicide attackers. The memo explicitly explains the targets for these terrorist attacks, as the original translation from Joseph Shahda shows:

The top secret letter 2205 of the Military Branch of Al Qadisya on 4/3/2001 announced by the top secret letter 246 from the Command of the military sector of Zi Kar on 8/3/2001 announced to us by the top secret letter 154 from the Command of Ali Military Division on 10/3/2001 we ask to provide that Division with the names of those who desire to volunteer for Suicide Mission to liberate Palestine and to strike American Interests and according what is shown below to please review and inform us.

When I posted this document, readers of this blog questioned the accuracy of the translation. People know that Joseph translated this for Free Republic, a strongly pro-war website, and that it was distributed by Laurie Mylroie, another pro-war commentator. Skeptics felt that this pedigree lent itself to a possibly warped interpretation of the memo. While the accuracy of the translation remained in question, the actual text -- which showed an active Iraqi terror program aimed at Americans -- would not get the attention it deserved.

In order to solve this problem, I decided to hire two Arabic translators on my own.

Amazing isn't it... Memos that show President Bush is right are fake. Memos that undermine the President are real even after proven fake. I seem to remember the mantra from the Left calling for an explanation of the information in the fake memos from Kinkos - "the memos may be fake but Bush still has to explain the information in them".

Well let's play the Libs game and see how well they perform... It doesn't matter if they think the docs are fake, the Left still has to explain the info contained in them.

Welcome to FR!

Thank you also for your reporting on the Gomery Commission investigation of the Liberals in Canada, when we had the publication ban!

Excellent job, sir!

It is almost amusing that anyone doubts the credibility of your translations.

No one actually doubts the credibility of his translations. They know the translations are accurate. They're simply lying. It's what they do.

I, for one, would absolutely love to watch Perky Katie be cornered into reporting this; her scowl would be reason enough for me to watch the See,BS! Evening Snooz for the first time since the Challenger blew up.

LOL. I'd pay to see that.

Thank you jveritas. You do know that there is no proof that will be enough for the left. For us, it strengthens our knowledge that the right man is President.

Can you believe it's taken me this long to finally get a login?

Welcome Captain Ed. FreeRepublic is a very conservative site but there's only truth here. Love your site too and I comment there regularly. As I do here on FreeRepublic.

Now here's my exciting news.

Out here in the wilds of Delaware we have a little talk news radio station. They have Rush, Savage and Laura I.

Their afternoon drive host lost his voice I am not making this up. Rush lost his hearing but imagine losing your voice?!?!

After four months of hearing various people filling in, I'm not making this up hand to God, -I- applied for a job at that radio station.

No I'm not going to be the afternoon talk show host. I don't know what I'm going to be doing but I got an answer from the program manager and they have an opening in their newsroom, so the email states, and he wants to talk to me.

I know absolutely nothing about radio and so-stated in my email. The program manager read my Blog and said he liked my attitude. He said, and I quote....

"We hire for attitude and we train for skills".

I am just so very excited. I freepmailed JV yesterday with my news as JV, ahem, is one of the few people, actually the only, who have heard my voice. I am a lady but first thing my husband said when I told him the news, was I have a great voice for the job. Okay, so my husband loves me, in theory. But my buddy Shahda wished me well, which he would do as JV is a charming fellow. JV thought I would make a great radio host.

The radio station especially liked my blog post interviewing JV.

Wish me luck. I AM going to do this.

The station is WGMD for those of you in this area. 92.7 on the dial.

Groan. This is one of those annoying sites that doesn't allow for "printable versions." My browser cuts off the first few words of every line, making it impossible to read. I love the blogospheres, but am starting to really hate the blogs that format their material in such a way as to make it unreadable for some of us (who would love to read them).

Captain's Quarters is always among the first of my stops for getting up to speed.

Best writer on the web. Better than me even. Fair, balanced, ever in search of the truth. Blogger of the year 2005.

Indeed Captain's Quarters is one of my fave web haunts as well.

I have a dream that with the push of mighty FreeRepublic accompanied by the firm well-spoken guidance of Ed Morrissey, hey, maybe we can get the truth out there.

Three years of endless mawing about our "failure in Iraq" and the constant innuendos that Bush made a mistake to take out Saddam, do you think maybe my granddaughter could someday read a TRUE history in her school books?

Imagine WWII. Imagine the gov't had released a slew of documents on the web of captured German documents. Wouldn't the Lamestream have been all the hell over this?

It's up to citizen journalists to get this out. Simple as that.

Bravo Zulu!

I'm sure that any of us who have quoted or cited data posted on Free Republic have been laughed at because the data was on Free Republic first.

I used to get this laughing or smirking treatment from very close relatives, including my wife and from some our very conservative friends years ago when I cited data from Free Republic.

Over the years, the laughs have gone away and what finally cleared them from my closest critics was the firing of Blather and Mapes after Buckhead, Howlin and others shredded that phoney document, Blather et al used on CBS.

This Friday night, at a dinner with our closest friends, I brought up jveritas's translations and there were no laughs. In fact a couple of the guys wanted me to email some of the links and data.

This is just another example of why we must support Free Republic Financially to keep it viable.

Without Free Republic there would not have been a Buckhead to bust the liars of CBS. Without Free Republic, there would have been no jveritas posting his translations which are getting more and more visibility and now confidence across our nation and probably the world.

All of us who care should become monthly donors to Free Republic. If we are monthly donors, we should contribute a little extra to the current Free Republic fundraiser.

Good news!

The accuracy and validity of jveritas's translations from the captured boxes of material have been validated and confirmed.
