The "Right" to Illegality

The "Right" to Illegality

"We believe that immigrants, like women and like African-Americans before them, have rights in this country, and the time is ripe for a new civil rights moment." ‹ U.S. Sen. Ted Kennedy

I have a dream.

I have a dream that, one day, Martin Luther King Jr. is going to rise from his grave, walk up to Sen. Ted Kennedy and say "nonviolent, my ass" and punch the senator right in the mouth.

"A new civil rights movement?" Immigrants are "like African-Americans before them?" Is the senile senator from Massachusetts out of his pickled little mind? I'm a geeky white guy from South Carolina whose ancestors probably supported segregation, and I'm outraged over this idiotic insult.

Jim Crow was offensive and unforgivable because it stripped away basic rights from people entitled to them by their citizenship. Every citizen has the right to vote, but black citizens were denied it. Every citizen has the right to service from the public school system, but black citizens were denied it.

How could one American citizen do this to another? That was the source of the outrage.

If I understand Sen. Kennedy correctly, he says that not letting Manuel from Mexico enjoy the rights of American citizenship is the same as preventing actual Americans who happened to be black from having those rights. Which means either black Americans were never really entitled to the rights denied them; or that everyone on the planet has the right to be an American, and we citizens are not allowed to control our own borders.

Both ideas are idiotic; I'm just trying to figure out which one is the most offensive.

For two weeks now I've been reading news stories about the "immigrants rights" movement, exemplified by citizens of foreign countries marching with foreign flags and screaming at me in a foreign language about how mad they are over how I run my country.

Well, not to be stupid, but exactly what "rights" do illegal aliens have here in the United States? I've scoured the Constitution from preamble to post-script and I can't find any. You're an immigration criminal. You're working illegally for an employer who broke the law by hiring you. Taxes aren't being paid, but your kids are being born in taxpayer-funded public hospitals and attending taxpayers' schools.

What are your "rights?" The right to dignity? I will happily stick you on a bus for home in a highly dignified manner. The right to respect? I will gladly call you "sir" and "ma'am" as I respectfully kick your illegal assets back to your home country.

Advocates for illegals insist that they have rights like "the right not to die of thirst in the desert" or "the right not to be killed by smugglers".

OK, fine. Don't want to thirst to death in the desert? Then don't walk across it trying to sneak into the United States. Don't want to get stuffed into a spare tire holder and abandoned on the side of the road by a smuggler? Then don't hire him to smuggle you across the border. Voila!

But if you're going to insist on sneaking across the border and evading law enforcement and working off the books as an illegal, then your "right" to die in the desert or get beaten by druggies is back in play. That's how it's supposed to be. That's justice.

Injustice isn't what happens when a criminal alien suffers the consequences of his illegal acts. The real injustice is what amnesty supporters like Sen. Kennedy want: giving illegals the same respect, rights and privileges that we give the many legal immigrants who enter our country each year. Millions come for visits and vacations, thousands come (legally) to work, and the vast majority obeys the law. They are our guests. They deserve courtesy and respect.

Illegal immigrants aren't guests; they're gate crashers. They are, by definition, liars and cheaters. They deserve nothing, except the quickest possible trip back home.

I recently heard an illegal alien from Brazil say he supports amnesty because, "I don't want to be illegal. Nobody does."

This is a lie. Of course he wants to be illegal. That's why he's here. If he really didn't want to be illegal, he'd be back in Brazil. Instant legality.

What he meant to say was, "As much as I'd like to be legal, I'd like to not live in Brazil even more." And having seen what the people of Brazil, Mexico, etc. have done with their countries, I understand his feeling.

What I don't understand is, where did the people who turned their home countries into Third World rat holes get the "civil right" to do the same to mine?

And we have the right to NOT:

have to support their every need called entitlements of which we pick up the tab

have our schools and hospitals overcrowded because of them

have our streets and schools held hostage again and again because of their illegal demonstrations

not be allowed to wave our American flag

OUR rights and freedoms are being eroded because of them!

I lived in this country for 8 years with a very legal and hard to get visa. Then, when I got my (legal) green card I lived as a legal resident. Finally I became a citizen, the legal way, in time to legally vote for Bush. And I say, let's kick those illegal @$$e$ back to their country of origin, and let's keep a record of their names because in my opinion they have forfeited their right to getting visas. At the very least, they should be last in line, behind every single legal applicant who has never broken the US law.

Of course he wants to be illegal. That's why he's here. If he really didn't want to be illegal, he'd be back in Brazil.

It's amazing how at times via the MSM and some in government, the simplest statements can become so complicated.

LOL! This author certainly doesn't pull his punches.

Teddy K. and the left always leave out the word "illegal" when referring to "illegal immigrant rights".

My favorite lie is that the 11 million are not cutting into the line. Of course they are, the vast majority of those awaiting legal entry are not in this country waiting. Oh but the legal waiters will be eligible to become citizens first, this assuming that citizenship is the ultimate goal of the cheaters, it is not and the line jumpers are getting exactly what they want now.

or that everyone on the planet has the right to be an American, and we citizens are not allowed to control our own borders

That's what the battle cry will be. That the United States has no right to restrict "immigration".

The "reasoning" behind it is leftist venom. The notion is that the U.S. has too much, and what we do have is stolen (like the Southwest, according to Mexico). So the poor of the Earth have a "right" to immigrate here, and either take what they need or be given it (a distinction without a difference, of course).

In a word, communism.

Of course the end result that is desired is the dissolution and debasement of the United States, primarily by balkanization and internal dischord between nationalities who have nothing in common. But world socialism is the goal, and this is merely the means.

In the meantime, a sane way to counter this insane argument is to ask: "so if the Chinese army shows up on ships in Los Angeles harbor, and their general says 'we only want to do the jobs Americans won't do', are we obliged to step aside and let them come ashore?". After all, if the whole world has a right to "immigrate", and of course we have the second amendment, then who are we to stop an armed group of "immigrants" from walking in?

Kennedy knows all this, but being utterly mad and consumed with his hatred of the United States, he'd do anything to destroy it.

As a natural born citizen, just try gaining employment without documents!

I have a suggestion. Let's build the fence in the Southern border and, when it's finished, throw sen. Kennedy over it! He would love living surrounded by those charming civil-right fighter wannabes! I bet he'll enjoy the women and the tequila!

To: Salo; All

I sure enjoyed that article, Salo. Now before it gets exciting on this thread, allow me to provide a little humor break. I received this the other day and had a shameless chuckle over it. LOL

A big earthquake with the strength of 8.1 on the Richter scale hits
Mexico. Two million Mexicans have died and over a million are injured.
The country is totally ruined and the government doesn't know where to
start with asking for help to rebuild. The rest of the world is in
shock.

Canada is sending troopers to help the Mexican army control the riots.
Saudi Arabia is sending oil. Other Latin American countries are
sending supplies. The European community (except France) is sending
food and money.

The United States, not to be outdone, is sending two million
replacement Mexicans. God Bless America!

Teddy and his social(ist) engineers ignore the signs these illegals (criminals) are carrying in pictures posted here at FR and on the noooooze...... they have NO DESIRE to become American Citizens....they want CA, AZ, TX NM back in the form of Aztlan etc ...... Immigration is one thing, racism is another . This issue at hand has nothing to do with either.....it is a clear and seditious plan long in the works and being played to those who don't see it for the criminal enterprise it really is. They are playing the race card and our polidiots are folding .

They have a race card showing in their hand that doesn't help their hand nor their poor poker face time in the media sound bites. They keep using PC verbage such as bigotry , hate, poor looking for jobs, doing the jobs Americans want etc etc and I ain't buying it or letting them or their handlers and panderers get away with it if possible.

My dollars will only be spent on products / services that don't come from a company that supports such criminal enterprise. Yeah I may miss out on some really good stuff but I just am not ready to have the lilly livered liquored up losers like Ted Kennedy make me sell out my Republic for a friggin head of lettuce !

Doom on em ......

There is also the "Mexica" movement where they claim that they are the indigenous peoples of the Americas and Europeans and blacks are the occupiers.

I am SO with you. I, like you, did everything right. I entered legally on a student visa, got a work permit, then a green card and applied for citizenship. I was denied because of a bureaucratic error. It had to do with a stamp on my passport. It was very faint, but the processor wouldn't let me lean across the table to show her. When I got the denial in the mail, I was so deeply saddened and cosidered contacting my Rep.. But I passionately despise Alcee Hastings, so I let it go. Well, now, I'm still in processing and would dearly love to become a citizen in time to vote this November, but I'm not holding my breath.

I think that we (legal immigrants) are the ones to be listened to in this 'debate'. Obviously, the politicians don't care about the opinions of Americans. They're pandering to the immigrants. So, we, the legal immigrants, ought to make a big stink. Too bad that so many of us are committed to good citizenry that we don't plan to be disruptive.

I love your idea about deporting them and putting them on a no-visa list. If you have any other good ones about how the legal immigrants can give Ted K. an earful, please let me know. We need to rally. We have to tell Teddy, "OK, you want to pander to immigrants, here we are. Do NOT denigrate me by lumping me in with illegal immigrants."
