Shep Smith Belongs On CNN
FOX News

Posted on 04/14/2006 12:29:31 PM PDT by davidtalker

This guy is on there now talking down the war effort. Talking down Rummy. Telling his guest (General) "this Administration wants Americans to believe Saddam was responsible for 9/11." This guy is so transparent. He's better off in "The Situation Room" with Blitzer and Cafferty. Touting the six retired Officers calling for Rummy's head. Shep is just trashing the effort. Drama Queen.

During the 2000 Elian saga, demonstrators started to jeer the media camping out at the tent in front of Elian's house.

Shep told the crowd, "Don't jeer me. I'm with you guys. It's the CNN guys that ones you want to protest."

It was a hoot.

He will probably never replace El Rushbo - in my opinion - but I love John Gibson on the radio. I can take or leave Sean.

He has gotten worse since he became such a "star" during the Katrina story...even though it was also one of his most emabarrassing...because the morning AFTER Katrina hit, he was standing on the balcony of his hotel room, proclaiming that Katrina "wasn't all that bad"....LOL

The Drama Queen was on Hannity's radio show during that fiasco breathlessly claiming that children were dying in the street. Sean asked him to clarify whether or not he actually saw that happening, and Shep hemmed and hawed then changed the subject.

"He will probably never replace El Rushbo"

I think the one that would come closest to replacing Rush would be Mark Levin. Im glad we have both though. :)

Don't forget John Gibson. He lets his conservatism show quite often. The shows you named plus Gibson is Definitely the best of FOX and of all of Television in my opinion. As far as Shep goes,Alan Colmbs should have married him instead of Monica Crowley's sister.

He belongs on a soap opera.Maybe he is prepping for a new gig.He was pathetic during Katrina.Im sure Fox will supply him with plenty of kleenex for his next big show.At least to keep his mascara from running.

Shep is who he is. I watch enough to know that. I admit, he's entertaining. However, that was over the top and I do think he's being taken to the woodshed as we speak. The mention of the flood of e-mails let's us assume he was taken down a notch.

I am so tired of people saying "Shep ,and others (Whorealdo, now Gavin newsome's Ex Kimberly Guilfoyle etc.)provide insulation from cries of Right Wing bias at FOX. FOX seems "Right Wing" to the critics because they provide both sides. We appreciate FOX because they don't play the game in the same manner as the others.

What bothers me here is that our people in Iraq watch FOX News. My best friend (Army Colonel) and Brother In Law (Marine-Camp Fallujah) are just back. Told me they depend on FOX News for their broadcast news. They didn't need Shep taking up for the naysayers.

I feel better now. Neil Cavuto is cleaning up Shep's mess. Fair And Balanced.

I think the the closest Bush or Cheney have ever come to "linking" Saddam and 9/11...was when Cheney was saying that that sort of terrorism is in play in Saddam's Iraq as well as with Bin Ladin..

There was a link between al-Qaida and Iraq. The current leader of al-Qaida in Iraq, Zarqawi, was living in Iraq before the coalition invasion.

Furthermore, many al-Qaida operatives were using Iraqi passports before 2002. Even one of the World Trade Center bombers in 1993 fled to Iraq.

Since Iraq was a totalitarian state under Saddam Hussein, it's obvious that the Iraqi dictator was looking the other way or cooperating with al-Qaida operatives.

So, yes, there was a link between Saddam Hussein Iraq and al-Qaida.

Nevertheless, it has not been proven that Saddam Hussein was directly involved in 9/11.

Well, we pretty much KNOW for sure which side Alan is on. He's hired to represent the left.

But you have a point..if Shep came out of the closet (no pun intended), I could accept that.

Yes, your intent is very, very, clear.

As CLEAR as the VP when graciously granting interviews to the Dems, posing as reporters.

I would bet that good ole Shep got a ton of nasty emails about his comment regarding Iraq and 9/11 and his omission of an equal number of retired generals who have come out in complete support of Rummy. Shep needs to get a clue, FNC viewers don't watch to hear dnc talking points, we watch to get the facts and both sides of the story. I'm glad you wrote too.

"It's how Fox can say proudly that they're fair and balanced."

Yes, Fox has become SO balanced it looks just like CNN or MSNBC used to look with all their leftovers and re-treads that they got rid of for lack of ratings. I have stopped watching Fox just as I quit watching CNN and PMSNBC even though I am a news junkie, as everything on TV is left-wing propaganda IMO.

Pretty little Shep has always made me want to puke, but I suspect that Fox is hoping to attract a certain type of viewer by giving him 2 hrs./day. Good thing he's not on opposite Keith Olbermann or they would be splitting the same audience!
