We have had a slight adjustment in the plans for the 5PM Saturday, April 22nd Meeting of the Heart of Texas Chapter of FreeRepublic.com. Our get-together will now be held at Kreuz's BBQ at 619 N. Colorado St. in Lockhart, Texas(25 miles SE of Austin and 35 miles NE of New Braunfels). Kreuz's BBQ is directly off of 183.
Since we have a BBQ Controversy over who had the better BBQ in Lockhart, we have decided to switch to Kreuz's because of the facilities which include a separate meeting room and better bathrooms. For all of you investigative folks, here's a comparison article on the Legends in Lockhart
So come join us for FReeper fellowship, food, and fun.
TOPICS: Announcements; US: Texas
KEYWORDS: austin; earthday; food; freepers; freerepublic; fun; hat; heartoftexas; kreuzsbbq; lockhart; meetup; sanantonio; texas
Sorry, for the change of plans.
Please let us know if you might be able to make it.

Thanks, David, for getting yet another thread up--LOL! (One of these days, we're really going to have to get organized!---No idea when that day will come, though!)
I just called the restaurant and reserved the private room for us. I warned the guy that a few more of us might call for the same reason as no one was designated for the job--again, LOL!
Sure hope to see a lot of old friends and many new friends this Saturday!

...and a Good Morning Bump back at ya.
We had a few golf-ball sized hail stones hit our house yesterday. One would hit the roof and roll off about every 20 seconds for about a 2-3 minute period.

Ouch. We lucked out here. Everything went just south of us..over La Frontera and into Pflugerville. Thankfully we just got the good rain.

We had about 10 minutes of pea to marble-sized hail here. I know we badly need this rain--but I'm already tired of it--LOL!
Here's hoping for good weather to drive in tomorrow.

Later that evening, we had another cell come through and turned on the News8. They zoomed in to our area and had a little circular icon right near our house. We started thinking about heading to the center of the house, but they explained that it's not necessarily a tornado and could just be different directional winds.
It looks like the weather will be sunny with a high in the upper 80s on Saturday.

I'm just glad it all went through last night. Our son's school is having a big outdoor event tonight and it would have been really sad to have it washed away. But this way it at least cooled off the temps enough that it will be more enjoyable than 100 degrees.
See you tomorrow!

DrewsMom just mentioned that we are supposed to join her parents for
dancing at a place in New Braunfels later Saturday Night.
I don't know the place yet, but everyone is welcome to join us.

OK, the dance is apparently 7-11 Saturday Night at Eagles Hall in New Braunfels.
Do you know anything about this place?

OK, it sounds like polka music at Eagles Hall 257 E. South St., New Braunfels, (830) 625-0572 Red Raven Orchestra, 7 Sat.
But I also found a Red Raven Orchestra playing in Omaha, Nebraska 4/20 and 4/23. I'm getting suspicious.
Which one is the real red Raven Orchestra of Lawrence Duchow fame?

a get down funky kinda place LOL. Somehow, I don't put polka music and dancing with my in-laws in the get down funky category. I like a faster polka and the twirling around though.
You're welcome to join us for the cheap beer if nothing else. I think it's $10 to get in and my wife told me I had to wear jeans(no shorts).

I wish to thank The Heart of Texas Chapter for it's kind open invitation.
I wish to add, I had a lovely time. The Bar-B-Q at Kreuz's is excellent.
Everyone was nice and the conversations enjoyable. It is always good to be among like minded people for a time.
The Symbolic Earth Day flag burning ceremony, afterwards, with its pictures of Lenin, and Soviet Sickle gave just the right touch.
Again Thank You All.
