So lemme see if I have this straight so far:
We have Mary Mcarthy who was appointed by Clinton
We have Sandy Berger who was appointed by Clinton
We have the real Joe Wilson, who was appointed to some African nation and then Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for African Affairs at the National Security Council by Clinton
We have Valerie Plame Joe Wilson's wife, who joined the CIA while Clinton was president
and we have Dana Priestly who got her information from the aforesaid Mary Mcarthy,
and we have William Goodfellow, husband of Dana Priestly who gets Joe Wilson speaking engagements.

Tom Joscelyn brilliantly lays out a prior instance in which CIA agent Mary McCarthy, the leaker just fired from the CIA, entered the public record: her involvement in the bombing of al-Shifa, one of the targets in Sudan that the Clinton adminstration attacked in 1998.

This is an egregious crime. It was operational, not just classified info. She put lives in danger, c**t. She disclosed top secret information. Jail time is too kind. Think about it.

The latest fired CIA employee is Mary McCarthy, (one of many to come, I understand, apparently the Department of Justice said they have DOZENS of leak investigations ongoing);

Until July 2001, she served as special assistant to the president and senior director for intelligence programs on the National Security Council (NSC) Staff, under both Presidents Clinton and Bush. More here hat tip x-dhimmi

Wilsongate: Motive, Means, and Opportunity

From my files:

Wilson (as Ambassador to Gabon) had/has connections to the Gabon Chief of State, Omar Bongo, who was the chief African ally of the French oil company TotalFinaElf, a major beneficiary of the Oil-for-Food bribes. Prior to the Iraq War, they had a contract with Saddam's regime worth an estimated 12.5 to 27.0 billion barrels of oil reserves. Also he had connections via the Middle East Institute and Rock Creek, both of which are Saudi controlled.

Wilson's wife Jacqueline was also apparently a lobbyist for Bongo and it seems Wilson was pretty chummy with Saddam's weapons buyer, having dinner with him on the eve that Kuwait was invaded in 1990. She is now an advisor to Bongo, her picture from a 2005 conference can be found here That makes it very clear that there are connections to oil-for-food. No wonder Wilson can afford his lifestyle.

Who is Mary McCarthy? [The Great One, Mark Levin, weighs in...]--Well, as of this morning (Saturday) most of the drive-by media don't care. They're fixated with the weather and gas prices — and anything else that will divert the public's attention from the stunning revelation that a Sandy Berger crony has apparently been leaking top-secret information from her high post at the CIA.

The blogs are all over it. See Ace of Spades HQ and follow the links. The bloggers are reporting that the WaPo is carrying a story in Sunday's edition indicating that the investigation by the FBI is widespread, and that Rockefeller and Durbin and their staffs will be asked to take polygraphs, and that reporters who published the leaks may be subject to prosecution.

Mary McCarthy Identified As CIA Leaker

The identity of the CIA leaker fired for passing classified information to Washington Post writer Dana Priest has been revealed.

The officer flunked a polygraph exam before being fired on Thursday and is now under investigation by the Justice Department, NBC has learned.

Intelligence sources tell NBC News the accused officer, Mary McCarthy, worked in the CIA's inspector general's office and had worked for the National Security Council under the Clinton and and George W. Bush administrations.

The leak pertained to stories on the CIA’s rumored secret prisons in Eastern Europe, sources told NBC. The information was allegedly provided to Dana Priest of the Washington Post, who wrote about CIA prisons in November and was awarded a Pulitzer Prize on Monday for her reporting.

Sources said the CIA believes McCarthy had more than a dozen unauthorized contacts with Priest. Information about subjects other than the prisons may have been leaked as well.

The sleuthing has begun ;

The report of the 9/11 Commission notes that the National Security staff reviewed the intelligence in April 2000 and concluded that the CIA's assessment of its intelligence on bin Laden and al-Shifa had been valid; the memo to Clinton on this was cosigned by Richard Clarke and Mary McCarthy, the NSC senior director for intelligence programs, who opposed the bombing of al-Shifa in 1998

McCarthy: Second Day - First Thoughts
1. Maybe the war would be over by now if half the CIA wasnt more interested in "getting Bush" than it is with "getting Osama".

2. The WAPO and the New York Times are saying that McCarthys efforts are not just legitimate, but actually required for the safe running of a government. Would they say the same if other members of the CIA were to reveal classified information on the failures of the Clinton Administration?

3. In my mind, the CIA is a compromised organization. Mary McCarthy is not some back bench disgruntled civil servant, she's a major player in the Security Community, the NSC and the CIA. Organizations tend to take on the attributes of those at the top. People who are promoted within the organization are promoted because they mimic those in the leadership. This means that there are a large number of people in the CIA whos careers map, personal network and decision making processes mimic those of Dr. McCarthy. Those that are supporting McCarthy now need to explain how an out of control, and apparently disloyal CIA has helped secure the United States against the people who are trying to kill us.

4. How many "dots" are not being "connected" because half of the CIA is sitting in its cubicles frothing at the mouth in hatred over the words "President Bush". How many people have died due to someone elses Bush Derangement Syndrome?

5. At what point does the actions of someone like McCarthy stop being a "Leak" and start being a form of "shadow government"?

6. Its supposed to be the "Central Intelligence Agency", not the "Central Policy Agency". We didnt elect you Dr. McCarthy, you are not "the decider"; its not your call.

7. If a person will violate their security oath for political revenge, what wont they do?

8. What strikes me as most interesting about this case is that it appears that Dr. McCarthy has close working relationships with many people in the "anti-Bush" community and the Democrat party. Is this just a leak, or part of an attempt at a soft "coup"?

9. Why is Dr. McCarthy so interested in overturning the results of an legitimate election? Should we trust someone who doesnt trust the voters? ( I love replaying Clinton Apologies for my own benefit)

10. Now that we have reason to question the loyalty of Dr. McCarthy and that she served in the NSC with Sandy Berger, Just what was it that Sandy Berger was carrying in his pants out of the archive? Is it related to this?

I didn't have any knowledge how corrupt the CIA had become.
As just a lay person from what I gather is while the Clinton's
were in office the whole system became corrupt and still is to date.
Our government let Sandy Burglar get away with his treasonous act of stealing documents and , destroying them. There was no punishment for his crime and there will be none for Mary McCarthy.
There must be laws against such crimes,
but apparently they are written for the little people.
A lot of talk of late of how people in our government are fast becoming worth millions in a short period of time. Now I'm not a rocket scientist but I see corruption from both parties in all levels of government.
I will bet anyone a five dollar bill against a twenty five cent doughnut there will be no punishment for Mrs McCarthy.

Let's go back to the beginning. William Goodfellow and Noam Chomsky were both on the same side downplaying the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia. Goodfellow made an ass of himself at the 1976 Congressional hearings on Cambodia. Undaunted he then uses CIP, which he helped found, to support Salvador Allende in Chile. He continues over the decades to support Castro. He hires at CIP two of the most rabid anti-CIA types to come out of the State Department, Robert White and Wayne Smith. He fights against US support for the Contras. He makes every effort to get his buddy Anthony Lake hired as NSC chief under Bill Clinton.

The above being said, anyone who passes information on to the very left wing Dana Priest, wife of Goodfellow, knows where the information will end up and how it will be used. Mary McCarthy, who was perfectly aware of the Anthony Lake business, and certainly must of known that the information she was providing would be used by leftists to advance their cause against Bush, the CIA and its new hatchet man Porter Goss.

If the Department of Justice does not bring charges against Priest and the Washington Post for knowingly handling and reporting on highly classified CIA material in a time of war it will be in dereliction of duty.
