Excellent thread and I thank you fir it, my dear FRiend.
I'll be back to join the civil discussion as soon as my 'univited, but welcomed' company leave.
Great minds think alike..eh?
I'm praying for every word the President says Monday night.
I pray with you.
Thanks for the positive topic and theme.
Its hard to be a Bush supporter and post these days.
How about writing the President and suggesting that his approach to immigration is outdated due to the rapidly increasing invasion?
Thank you very much for this thread. I have some responsibilities this afternoon...but I WILL be back to put in my two cents.
I can not wait to see where we really stand. My suspicion is that we have more in common than we think when we are yelling at each other.
In the meantime, I will pray for constructive ideas.
;-)
Down here in San Diego, the Mexican radio stations advise the illegals that if they can't afford to pay for treatment for some non emergency like the flu then simply call 9-11. An ambulence is dispatched and they transport to the nearest hospital. Once called for service, the paramedics HAVE to treat. None of these services is paid for their service. Our hospitals are closing because of treating for "emergencies" only. The amublence services either go under and/or are not available for real emergencies for our own citizens.
Have you written your Congressmen and Senators with those steps?
I'll bite.
For starters, end the anchor baby doctrine. Only babies born to legal residents of this country automatically become citizens.
IF some kind of amnesty is offered (and I fiercely oppose this but I'm being pragmatic), require any asylum seeker to pass the requirements of legal immigration in terms of health, legal problems, and other matters with the proviso that those who don't qualify under our laws go back home.
Then ensure that all law enforcement officers from federal to shopping mall make it their business to establish legal status of troublemakers, and doctors, teachers and others wiht the same requirements.
Then pass a law that any person caught here illegally automatically and permanently forfeits the right to ever obtain legal residency, let alone citizenship, in this country.
If we want to end illegal immigration, we have to stop rewarding lawbreakers with citizenship, benefits, schooling, pensions and "catch and release" practices. And all citizens must be on board to enforce the laws or face their own consequences in terms of penalties for aiding and abetting.
#2 problem is visa over stayers. I detest those schemers. They are 40% of our illegal aliens
====
How can that be solved? There HAS to be a way!
Hah..the dems must know that without voter fraud no dem would probably EVER get elected outside of San FranSissy and Mass.
From an earlier post...
Here is a set of policies that will change this problem:
1. Seal the borders with fences & manpower as necessary
2. Seal the ports and airports against illegal entry
3. Hold all "detained" illegals until deported
4. Re incarcerate all felony convicted illegals into Federal Prisons to be deported at the end of sentence
5. Establish the means to prevent the transfer of funds not associated with international trade out of the country without approval
6. Establish the means to prevent illegals from voting
7. Punish those who employ illegals with large fines/prison
8. No more anchor babies
Problem will go away
One thing that could be done: put a cap on the amount of
money any individual could send to Mexico in a given year,
say $300. This would help our economy and would force Mexico
to think about theirs.
Is there any way the medical services, freebee healthcare at the expense of the rest of us can be ended?
Is there something practical WE can do, or say?
(Don't know...........just asking).
My husband is in hospital administration. I know how serious a problem this is.
Yeah those "evil" people who take the financial risks to put food on America's table or shelter over American's heads, they are just dispicable.
I'm with Miss Marple.
How do we accelerate the process?
Living in WA. State, I can tell you how it feels to have a fraudulently elected Governor!!
Once the prevailaing wage demand is issued, and strikes ensue, the demand for work will diminish significantly due to cost. Then the millions of people here legally but unemployed will demand medicare, medicaid, unemployment insurance, etc. Atually, the leftist pols will demand it for them. It is very unlikely that the left will allow deportation of green card holders (or legalized immigrants) due to unemployment. They seek to raise taxes and encourage hand outs as an investment on votes once the illegal becomes a citizen and can vote.
