Just days before his Republican primary election, U.S. Rep. Chris Cannon is seeing more than $134,000 flowing into his war chest, much of it from organizations known to favor cheap immigrant labor. The pro-immigration groups have given Cannon, R-Utah, at least $58,200 in the past 12 days alone, a review of federal campaign reports shows. That includes at least $30,000 from agricultural interests — such as the California Farm Bureau and the Dairy Farmers of America. Additional money is coming from businesses known for hiring inexpensive labor —including Wal-Mart and the National Roofing Contractors Association.

Oh Lordy, Chris Cannon is getting campaign donations from such people as Dairy Farmers, Roofing Contractors, and Wal-Mart.

All are akin to

satan!

As long as the money's coming from folks who can legally donate, I don't have a problem with it :)

If it isn't, Cannon's in deep doo-doo....

That is perhaps a problem with such organizations. Who gives to them?

Actually, illegals probably are not in a position to donate much. It is those who profit from the illegals who are behind the funding.

Everything is on the up and up, I have no doubt, but the headline is funny.

The evil Dairy Farmers and Wal-Mart are giving campaign contributions to Chris Cannon.

Apparently, We're all complicit in this illegal immigration problem. The trouble is that We're not paying lower prices at the market. Just like taxes, We're getting screwed from both ends. We're paying high prices for goods and paying high taxes for the illegals to stay and work in this country.

That's the point. These writers are trying to make out people below,
Dairy Farmers,

as evil and akin to satan.

Looks like you believe the reporters stance that Dairy Farmers are evil.

We're not paying lower prices at the market.

Really? How much did a computer that you are currently making your message on, cost 10 years ago.

I'l give you a hint it was a lot more expensive.

Hey Straw man (lady)

Illegals don't manufacture computers.

If the farmers are knowingly hiring illegals, then, yes, they are doing wrong. I don't care if a manufacturer is making apple pies or American flags, if they are knowingly using illegal labor to do so, they are undermining the sovereignty of us all. That is wrong.

Fine, then milk your own cow and pastuerize the milk yourself.

And pigs will fly when that happens, IMO.

Not all dairy farmers break the law to produce their product and you know it. You're defaming honest farmers by implying such.

Hey Straw man (lady)

Not a strawman at all. The poster said we all are getting screwed in the marketa, and I proved the consumer is not.

Also IIRC, the % of household income that goes to purchasing food is way down in the last 50 years and the choices of food to the American consumer have skyrocketed all due to those considered evil by some, farmers.

And I don't some consider diary farmers who produce milk as evil, as you do.

BTW, better get working on finding that cow. That way you can be sure that your milk is %100 American pure.

Oh BTW, better find a hay supplier. Bessie the cow there eats a ton of it.

Mechanization and better transport technologies. Pedro isn't delivering a bushel of apples to the market on his mule anymore.

Nope he's picking them. Of course you as a good patriotic American could go to your local apple farm and apply for a job as a picker there.

A man walked into a curio shop in Galveston Texas.

Looking around at the exotica, he noticed a very life-like,
life-size bronze statue of a rat. It had no price tag, but it looked
so striking that he decided he must have it.

He took it to the owner and asked "How much is the bronze rat?"

"Twelve dollars for the rat, a hundred dollars if you bring it back,"
said the owner.

The man gave the shop owner twelve dollars. "I'll take the rat; And I
won't be bringing it back."

As he walked down the street carrying the bronze rat, he noticed that
a few real rats had crawled out of alleys and sewers, and began
following him down the street. This was a bit disconcerting, so he
began to walk a little bit faster. Within a couple of blocks, the
group of rats behind him grew to over a hundred, and they began
squealing.

He started to trot towards the Harbor. He took a nervous look around
and saw that the rats numbered in the thousands, maybe in the
millions, and they were all squealing and coming towards him faster
and faster. Terrified, he ran to the edge of the water and threw the
bronze rat as far out into the Harbor as he could. Amazingly, the
millions of rats all jumped into the water after it,and were drowned.

The man walked back to the curio shop.

"Aha," said the owner, "You're bringing it back !"

"Actually no," said the man. "I came back to see how much you
want for that little bronze Mexican over there."
