WEEK 26 - Olney, MD, 6-24-06: Operation Infinite FReep, DR RAOUL CAUSES MOONBATS EARLY RETREAT
June 25,2006
| Trooprally
Posted on 06/25/2006 9:33:55 AM PDT by trooprally
The moonbats could not take the heat today from Doctor Raoul's bullhorn [BELOW]. While he arrived a little late, but with a bag full of Philly pretzels (in "brown paper bag" just behind bull horn and Lurker Bill in back ground) for our side, he jumped right in with his questions of "Why did the Quakers stand by while Pol Pot murdered millions", "Why don't you become human shields for the Iraqi's who are being killed by terrorists", "Why did you delay shipments of food to the starving Somalians?", ending the above with "You have blood on your hands that you can't wash away", and several more. It had our side laughing, especially the new couple.
Doctor Raoul also loaned us his bullhorn which we'll put to good use in Olney. Cindy_True_Supporter is always yelling to the "Quackers" across the street, now she'll be heard. It can also be used at some of the other FReeps where bullhorns are allowed. Thank You Doctor.

The moonbats folded up their side at 3:15 on the nose, their official end time. The seemed more grumpy today with Doctor Raoul's questions then on other days. I don't ever remember ALL of the grumpies leaving at the same time. They left so fast that the two taking apart their banner [BELOW] were the last to leave. Usually Barking Waveman and Peek-A-Boo (she wasn't there today) stay way longer than the rest of the moonbats. But not today. Thank You again Doctor Raoul.

The new couple [BELOW LEFT], locals Carol and her husband Glen, really enjoyed Doctor Raoul's questioning of the moonbats. Glen is a lurker on FR and several other milblogs, but never signed up. They have a son currently serving in Iraq. Carol was the one that stopped by several weeks ago and said they would come out. An unexpected family thing came up last week and they couldn't make it. She also brought their dog again but we didn't count her. [BELOW RIGHT] Dog with feet of [Mr] T talking to the feet of Lurker Glen and Carol's feet.

I forgot to say Thank You to Carol & Glen as we were breaking up, so if you're lurking here, Thanks for coming out and for your help.
[Mrs] T's American Legion commander, Glen, [BELOW] also came out today. He's an Iwo Jima vet. It was great to see him with the Legion cap on. He grabbed a sign after socializing for a bit.

The list of FReepers in attendance were regulars Lurker Bill, [Mrs] Trooprally ([Mrs] T), Cindy_True_Supporter (CTS), and myself and then there was Doctor Raoul.
Pics are by [Mrs] T.
That makes 8 for the good guys and there were only 5 of the moonbats. The best part of today was when [Mrs] T went into Popeyes to buy drinks a little bit after we started. When she left, there were 3 of us on the corner. When she returned, we had 7. We should send [Mrs] T over for drinks more often. [BELOW LEFT] CTS, and [BELOW RIGHT] [Mr] T with new sign.

The rain held off today, just like at Walter Reed last night. We've had heavy rain forecast since 2PM Friday with flash flood warnings since Friday night, but it has only rained to the south and north of us.
We got a good number of honks, waves and thumbs up. The only real cat call we got today was when we were taking down the banners. I guess even the moonbats supporters can't take the heat and stayed home.
And now for the out numbered moonbats.
[BELOW LEFT] Chief Grumpy thinking "Are we the only two here today? Do I have to look at your face for the next hour?" [BELOW RIGHT] New moonbat with Barking Waveman.

[BELOW] And occasionally, the moonbats do have their passerbys that agree with them. Even then, Chief Grumpy still is grumpy.

[BELOW] Chief Grumpy, Idiot, and Sitter, holding Chief Grumpy's sign.

If s(he) will stay on your bike. Dogs have been brought to WR several times in the past.
But in Olney, our rule is, no dogs allowed to cross the street to the moonbats side, not sure what they'll catch. The vets in Olney are expensive.

The bandanna was the owners' thing. It is a nice touch. Maybe we can get Barking Waveman to wear one, very tightly knotted.
When you going to be in town again? Olney's FReep is growing and we could use your support. It's in the afternoon, so you'll be able to catch up on your sleep from Friday's FReep at WR.

Thanks.
When are you all coming up next - the Doc's bullhorn is waiting!!! It's easier on the lungs than trying to yell across the street. You all always add excitement to the corner.
Can't wait for Cindy_True_Supporter to use it. She's always yelling at the "Quackers" but her voice doesn't carry that far.

Thanks - Looking forward to your next trip north.
With Doctor Raoul's bullhorn, the additional locals starting to show up and visits by FReepers, hopefully we can get rid of the vermin and wrap this FReep up. It's not like WR, where Code Pink's hard core a##holes stand.
I doubt if Barking Waveman will give up, but a lone person standing on the corner is pitiful, especially since Bush's "Plan" IS working.

One of my kids went to Portland Oregon for the first time and called me from the airport there. First thing he said was, "There sure are a lot of old hippies here!"
I informed him that old hippies go out there to die.
I wouldn't mind having Granny on a t-shirt come to think about it.

Actually they have lost their "natural instinct" for finding where the drugs are. Too much of the brown acid in their early years.
As we were talking to Doctor Raoul after the FReep, I homeless looking guy came up to us and asked us to call an ambulance for his friend, which Doctor Raoul did. The friend was lying on the grass under the trees behind the enclosed bus stop on Georgia Avenue. Apparently the guy thought his friend had ODed. He didn't, but he was really messed up. By the time the ambulance arrived, the friend was somewhat aware of his surroundings.
A young lady from a local hair salon was driving by and recognized the two guys from past dealings with them and their crack problems. She stopped and helped calm the friend down because when he heard the ambulance, he started to get agitated.
Afterward, Doctor Raoul gave the young lady several Philly pretzels. She also said that if her schedule permits, she'll come out and help us.

Thanks. I think that you have a trade mark photoshop idea.
The momentum seems to be building with the locals. The more that come out, the more likely others will come. The shy ones can get 'lost' in the crowd and not stand out. We have a long way to go though to get the numbers like at Walter Reed and some recent events like Camp Pendleton's 500 supporters of the 8 Marines.
But its coming along.
