Protest the New York Times Revealing of U.S. Secrets, Monday, July 10, 5 p.m.

We have a sound permit, and we will be across the street from the New York Times. They are at 229 West 43rd Street.

The groups on board so far are Free Republic, Caucus for America, the Congress for Racial Equality, and Protest Warrior, NYC Chapter. We have reached out to several other groups as well, and are waiting to hear back from them.

Some high-visibility media people are interested in speaking at the protest. More information will be coming on this as we gather groups and speakers.

So hold the date! If you have been as sick about the Times's unconscionable blabbing of our classified information as the rest of those who care about the nation, now is your chance to do something to make your outrage heard.

Checkmate! You win, Doctor Raoul, not me!

Tip:

Stand in front of the Good Morning America window in Times Square, and when signalled, say "WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!"

The State List of Freepers is not an automatic ping list. >>

I wouldn't make a big deal out of it. I'm sure firebrand won't ping you again.

Just nipping it in the bud.

A stitch in time saves nine.

You know the rest.

G' Night.

It's obvious the little peckerhead was spoiling for a fight.

No need to be nice when it's not warranted.

Good luck and have fun! I saw that Michelle Malkin is aware of NYT protest plans. Once she announces it on her blog, it could get very big, very fast.

I need to be wealthy so I can travel when events like this come up.

Why didn't you ping me?

Oh, wait... it's because I don't fly a NY flag on my home page.

Well, I'll just bump your thread anyway with a BTTT from Maryland.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. I don't think (s)he/it would be of much help anyway judging from (s)he/it's last effort...

  Solamente on steroids!!!

That's quite an array of art work. The Times(ptoui!) has generated a lot of resentment, and all for what? Their stock has continued to decline even after their "scoop", maybe faster than before. We tried to tell 'em ;^)

Good - glad you people are taking action.

May I suggest a revision in the NYT name so as to cut back on their publication of their name.

Maybe like The New York Terrorist News, the New York Traitor Daily or something. Would like to see them get name recognition as who they really are. Maybe the public would like to know their real identity - since they publish all for the public interests.

Maybe New York Times crossed out and the revised name inserted.

I'll second the "name" idea. Don't let the NYTs get their faux name out.

Good FReeping to you all. Sounds like it will be a great event.

Looking forward to a Report and plenty of Pics. Hope Doc Raoul makes it, he's one of several "Masters of FReeping" on the East Coast.

To: Tolerance Sucks Rocks
"What is government itself but the greatest of all reflections on human nature? If men were angels, no government would be necessary. If angels were to govern men, neither external nor internal controls on government would be necessary."--James Madison

My complaint isn't with the First Amendment, per se. It's with one of its undergirding premises, that man can be his own watchdog. ("The fox guarding the White House, if you will.")

As for your ironic 'suggestions,' one or two actually make good sense to me. ;)

As the NY Times reconfirms daily, one substandard operation by a hack publisher / editor / journalist can do infinitely more mortal harm than, say, your average, run-of-the-mill medical malpractice. So why shouldn't being a 'journalist' require some minimal level of training/competence/character and a license?

Yikes. Apparently you know looking foolish like the back of your hand.

I heard Rich Lowry comment on Hannity yestereday: The left banged the Plame drum long and loud to keep a non-story on the front burner. He thinks we constituents need to bang the NYT drum just as hard. He supports the idea of pulling their credentials, and thinks we need to keep the pressure on our congresscritters and the AG to move forward to exposing the leakers. He said the treason angle, though true, would be laughed out of court.
