In Arabic it says: ""The massacre of children in Qana 2, is the gift of Rice. The clever bombs..Stupid,"

Banner appeard in downtown Beirut. Fifty-two people were killed, many of them sleeping children, when Israeli warplanes blitzed the Lebanese village of Qana, triggering global outrage and warnings of retribution for a "war crime" as a ceasefire appeared more remote than ever.(AFP/Ramzi Haidar)

Anyone else find it interesting that a 30 foot COLOR banner was ready to be hung just hours after this massacre? I'm no printing expert, but I do have some extensive marketing experience and when we have banners like this made they take a long time to dry and be used. Not only that, but the sheer size of it usually means not going down to your local Kinkos...which I'm sure Beirut has one on every street corner (heavy sarcasm).

Maybe it came from a certain Kinkos in Texas.

Apparently they think we're all stupid to think this wasn't a setup.

Let's see. Rockets are emerging from a building in Beruit and being lobbed into Israeli civilian populations. Israel hits those buildings. Hezbollah has civilians in those buildings. Whose fault is it that the civilians are killed? Ferris, anyone, anyone?

This printer will knock  out a 14' x 20' color banner in 15 minutes, and there are both faster and wider ones on the market.  Basically any size you want at 1000 Square Feet per hour.  You may have to bring a couple of barrels full of $100 bills to purchase ink.

That said, you'd think it would take a couple of hours for someone to make a decision to even make this banner. It's not cheap to make.

HP Designjet 4500 Printer series - Large Format Printers

Yes but isn't this banner 30', not 20' like the 4500 Printer series does?

I've used some large HP printers to print maps. It took a couple of hours to print a 3' x 6' printout. About half of that time was the computer spooling the job.

Maps have a heck of lot more detail, but that should mostly affect the spooling time, not the printing time.

These people have very few skills. But one of them is apparently being able to produce enemy flags to burn and large non-coherent banners in no time flat.

Correct. And it would have to be printed on a very sturdy material or it would tear or shred while be handled like this. Like the kind of material stretched across roadside billboards. This is being dissected rather thoroughly on the related thread referenced above.

I'd really liked a detailed timeline on this whole incident. It sure does raise some eyebrows, doesn't it? Especially since we know the extent that these barbarians will go to.
