WEEK 33 - Olney, MD, 8-12-06: Operation Infinite FReep, PEACENIKS "CUT & RUN"

The piece-of-poop-niks (If I may steal BufordP's slang name) have definitely had enough of our counter protest. For the second week in a row, they have deserted their corner and have gone under ground. They have also changed the time of their call for the president to "cut & run". Their website requires one to use a personal email address to contact them for each week's new time. What a waste of energy and effort just to avoid our patriotic music and our preaching to them.

Most of the FReepers were in D.C. for A.N.S.W.E.R.S. big protest. Be4everfree's REPORT of AUG. 12 is a good read. FReepers are now "goons". Time to get out the steel tipped boots and batons. But I digress. A call for the locals to help out this week was well received. We had 13 patriotic locals to ZERO moonbats. We assumed the moonbats would not be there, so we needed a good crowd to also occupy their corner.

Roll call this week includes: Cindy_True_Supporter (CTS), GunsareOK, [Mr] Mr.Mrs.RedWhiteBlue (RWB), [Mrs] Trooprally, Lurkers Bill, Babs, Marie, Gavin, The Twins and Legionnaires Halsey and Frank, both Marines who served in Korea, and myself.

Reminiscent of when Concretebob took over Code Pink's corners at Walter Reed, we equally enjoyed our victory. (BELOW TOP) The corner before we moved in. (BELOW BOTTOM) Signs notifying passerbys who now owns the corner. I'm waiting for Lurker Gavin to bring my sign over and Lurker Bill takes up his new position. It took him several light cycles to figure out the best way to display his sign. Bill is very good at rotating his sign to approaching cars. He is in constantly moving.

(BELOW LEFT) [Mr.] RWB and myself on our new corner. (BELOW RIGHT) Lurker Gavin finally got across the intersection with my sign and stayed there. This intersection is terrible to cross. Extreme care has to be taken because of the left turn arrows and right turning traffic. At Walter Reed, there are a lot fewer turning vehicles.

The biggest problem we had this week was the moonbats driving in their cars. As probably expected, they were extra foul this week. On our new corner, we received numerous one finger salutes and nasty looks. On our old corner, we received a "Bush is a f**king idiot" and "F**k Israel". GunsareOK was holding a 'We support Israeli's War On Terror' sign.

But at least we knew who the waves and the concert of honks was for.

As always, the D.C. Chapter's rules for protesting will be in effect. Briefly, they are: No violence, no profanity, no racism, no provocations, obey the law and treat all law enforcement officers with respect.

The D.C. Chapter has announced a real big SUPPORT THE TROOPS RALLY for September 23,2006. It will be opposite Cindy Sheehan's trip to D.C. Last year's rally was a success for such short notice. Now you have advance notice. The troops need to see that we support them. They are getting tired of the driveby media throwing mud on everything they do.

We need good crowds at Olney the next several weeks to help cover both corners. If you can make it, we would appreciate your presence. It might be a little dull without the moonbats there, but all the waves and honking are for us.

Thanks from the Olney crew. Its great not to look at them. Our side looked real good from their old side. No wonder they left.

Not sure when they will show. But our contact with Halliburton is going to call his contact in Montgomery County's traffic control center and have the traffic camera pan the intersection every 15 minutes. When they show up, we'll head out. If we are at the restaurant on their corner, we'll leave one person to hold our tables till we get back.

Either way, we'll meet them soon.

The crowd at Olney this week was a good one. We knew that we wanted to occupy two corners so we pulled in some favors.

We hope to occupy both corners for a while, so hopefully we'll get some good numbers.

Problem is that we are in the heart of moonbat country. While there are a lot more active FReepers, we still have a lot of FReeps going on.
