Clinton's Kosovo Whopper
Accuracy in Media ^ | September 27, 2006 | Cliff Kincaid

Of all the whoppers told by former President Clinton in his Chris Wallace interview, perhaps the most outrageous was his claim that he was involved in "trying to stop a genocide in Kosovo..." In fact, Clinton's bombing of the former Yugoslavia killed more people than died in this "genocide." And his policy benefited Osama bin Laden and the global Jihad.

In the year before the bombing, some 2,000 people had been killed in a civil war in Kosovo. A conservative estimate is that 6,000 were killed by U.S. and NATO bombs.

It's strange as well that Clinton complained to Wallace about the "neocons" attacking him when many of the same neocons in 1999 supported Clinton's war on Yugoslavia. The war was never approved by the U.N. or the U.S. Congress, and in fact violated the War Powers Act. The main beneficiary of the intervention was a Muslim terrorist group, the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), with links to bin Laden, who had declared war on America in 1996, bombed our embassies in Africa in 1998, and would later, of course, orchestrate 9/11.

When former CIA official Michael Scheuer says that the Clinton Administration "had eight to ten chances" to kill bin Laden and "they refused to try," he is making a statement that goes far beyond acknowledging Clinton Administration incompetence or a lack of will. The fact is that Clinton had a pro-Muslim foreign policy that actually benefited bin Laden and facilitated 9/11. Most Republicans don't mention this because too many of them were duped into backing Clinton's misguided policy in Kosovo. President Bush, then a candidate, even backed U.S. military intervention there through NATO.

[...] It is noteworthy that the CIA issued a January 2000 report that essentially whitewashed the nature of the KLA and claimed it was pro-American.

Rumor has it that at one point our special forces folks were on the ground and directed to meet up with an anti-Serb group for soome reason or another... instead, they discovered the people they were to meet had set up an ambush for them. Naturally these people had to be eliminated ... which peeved the White House to no end. Clinton, never one to be concerned about the potential loss of American lives, threw a major temper tantrum over those wannabe-ambushers' demise. He had probably 'worked harder than he had ever worked before' on arranging the meeting after all.

[...Not that rumors are worth much unless they are labeled "anonymous sources."]

all the troops, time, money, effort...all wasted because the euro-weenies would not step up and do something in kosovo and bosnia!....so clinton jumped in on the wrong side in a war that is now going to be won by the muzzies....no matter what this buffoon touched...it always turned to shi-ite...he need not worry...his legacy will remain in tact and history will judge him accordingly.

has anyone ever heard of when the US troops will be out of this area...the lib/dems scream quagmire in iraq and re-deploy, etc. etc. ....has anyone ever heard murtha or his minions utter a peep regarding another of clinton's blunders?...if the republicans do not get their acts together...maybe someone can querie the next clinton president (piaps)as to when the troops will be pulled from kosovo!!!

Try to confine yourself to attempting to deny the mass graves in Serbia related to the war in Kosovo, m'kay Tom?

There's more than enough opportunity for you to embarrass yourself with just that one subject.

Nope......not confining myself to any such thing. One is only embarrased if they lie and caught at it. Unless you don't have a conscious, like Billy Bob, then you can lie, get caught and lie to cover the last lie. Never admitting any lie, therefore never being embarrased. What a life....:)) So, if one was mistaken, it's not embarrassing, it's called an EPIPHANY...this is why they put the word in the dictionary.

Hoppie, You don't tell the whole truth. You dig out Government documents and consult with some of your local, political spin masters that are completely unreliable, and certainly based on the "old story", which has been dubunked many times over. Secondly, I'm still trying to decide if you are a disinfo kind of "person"? or, you are just gullible to the spin. We are going to expand this little circle to a much, much wider spectrum in due time hoppers.....Just buckle up.

Get used to it, the stove has only been warmed up. We will not allow you are anyone else to spread the BS.......

In the process, should additional information surface that is "reliable" and is contrary to what one has thought, then it's not embarrassing, its good. Repeat....Lying and getting caught to most people who lie can be embarrassing. You have it all backwards don't ye, son.

hmmmmm, Under Secretary to Political Sub-terrainian Affairs...how does that sound. lolol...:))

Democrats have often criticized Bush and Rumsfeld for having no plan in Iraq, but was their "plan" in Kosovo to bomb at 15,000 feet, to create a humanitarian disaster by causing 1.5 million to flee to the Greek province of Macedonia, and to rely on the Croatian Army on the ground to take territory, thereby avoiding another Srebrenica in the Bihac pocket?

Kosovo, as pointed out by others, by serving as a magnet for Muslim jihadists, was no Clinton success story, no matter how much credit he personally claimed.

Yes, the dilapidated, broken old fence - there long before the war - was mainly chicken wire with a few strands of barbed wire at the top, and with leaning thin poles. The British news crew entered the fenced area through a gap where the fence was broken, and then filmed from behind the fence. The curious men gathered round it as the reporter, Penny Marshall, engaged them in questions, and started pointing out men who looked thin. Finally, a man in the crowd pushed forward a man, saying something like here's a really skinny man for you. The man had some skeletal deformation/disease, but was otherwise uninjured and clean, as were all the others on that hot summer day.

You can see the chicken wire all below where the one man rests his hand:

You can make out a dusty/dirt-caked wheelbarrel in the lower right of the picture which shows Penny Marshall and some of her film crew:

Oh my.....can you imagine. However, there would have to some serious ground rules......One ground rule....no one in NATO or across the big ole pond may offer any assistance for any reason. Just watch the monitors.

The situation at the MI bridge was provocation by opening the bridge, on the part of the UN, thus allowing the first act of provocation by crossing over and starting fights. The same as the grenade thrown at the cafe. That was two acts of provocation that failed. Now the anty has to be up'ed. A homemade provocation with your own players and then blame it on the serbs.....Albanians will be given the high sign then start riots.....You can figure the rest........it's coming.

some interesting reading while we were on the subject.....

just read the transitions; following the sequence of events in the same time frame. The point is pretty obvious when talking about absurdities.

Jaksic Announces Citizens’ Insubordination

Kosovska Mitrovica, 25 Sept 06 (Beta, Otvoreno o Kosovu) – One of the Serbian leaders from northern Kosovo Marko Jaksic, stated on Monday night for the Beta Agency that the squabble in Kosovska Mitrovica was expected, assessing that the Serbs were ‘rightly afraid of provocations and violence’.
Jaksic, who is a member of the negotiation team, said that the attack shows that the decision of the police and UNMIK to open the bridge over the Ibar River was the wrong one.
‘The attacks on the Serbs are continuing, which was also confirmed with the shooting of the returnees in Istok’, said Jaksic. Jaksic announced that the Serbs will defend themselves and fight to preserve the peace with all the democratic means they have.

Rucker: Exaggerating Claims About Albanian Violence Against Serbs

Belgrade, 26 Sep 06 (Radio Srbija) – UNMIK chief Joachim Rucker evaluated that the claims of how Serbs in the province are a constant target of Albanian violence are exaggerated and emphasized that it is time to reach a solution about Kosmet’s political status.
Rucker did not agree with the claims that the status negotiation process is blocked because in the next phase there will be some significant suggestions which might resolve the status issue. He said that guidelines to lead the negotiations are part of the guiding principals of the Contact Group, which point out that there can be not be a return to the situation prior to 1999, no joining of Kosmet with some of the countries from the region, and no division of this territory, and that at the same time the solution must be acceptable for both sides.

Ruecker Unaware Of Threats Of Violence
Brussels, Belgrade, 26 Sep06 (B92) – The UNMIK chief says threats of violence in the event that Kosovo is not granted independence are unacceptable, but that he has not heard of any.
Joachim Ruecker said in Brussels that he never heard of any threats of violence from any responsible Kosovo politician. Ruecker met the ambassadors at the EU Political Security Committee, demanding to keep the pace of the Kosovo status process in line with the Contact Group recommendations.
The EU Political Security Committee ambassadors strongly insisted on the implementation of the democratic principles in the province.
The UNMIK chief also said that the Kosovo interim administration has made additional efforts to reach out to the Serb community. Ruecker said that although the Contact Group made a number of demands in that regard, the Kosovo Serbs must also make an effort to integrate.
“I regret that the Serbs are not taking part in Kosovo’s political life and I am making an appeal to the representatives of the hard-line policies in Belgrade to enable the Kosovo Serbs to take part in the political and economic life of Kosovo,” Ruecker concluded. (Beta)

Elshani made it clear that the increase of the security was done in all of Kosova. “More security is being conducted in whole Kosova's territory, but the security personnel remains the same” said Elshani.

He said that Kosova's Police Service (KPS) is able to control Kosova in this important phase keeping in mind that international forces are present in Kosova.

The bridge across the Ibar River in Kosovska Mitrovica was reopened on Monday after a one-month blockade because of a bombing incident that occurred at a café on the Serbian side of the city.

Kosovska Mitrovica Bridge Remains Closed
Kosovska Mitrovica, 26 Sep (B92) The bridge over the Ibar River in Kosovska Mitrovica will remain closed after last night’s attack on Aleksandar Æurèiæ.
Steven Schook, the UNMIK deputy chief, met with Serb representatives in this town and stated that the decision to reopen the bridge will be postponed until after the talks with KFOR and representatives from the south part of the town are done. Schook said that meeting with representatives of the Serbian National Council (SNV) was very good
Meanwhile, the Kosovo Police Service detained eight persons after last night’s attack by several Albanians on Aleskandar Æurèiæ. They were interviewed and later released.
The incident occurred when three underage Albanians crossed the bridge and started a brawl with a group of people gathered on the north side of the bridge. The verbal conflict turned into a fight, inflicting light injuries on a Kosovo Serb.
Milan Ivanovic, the Serb National Council chairman, said that in his talks with the international community representatives, he repeated the Serb demand to keep the bridge closed until the end of the Kosovo status negotiations. “They said they would decide in a few days and until then the bridge remains closed and they take responsibility for whatever happens, meaning whether or not the bridge will open.”
“Monday’s developments are proof that the opening of the bridge destabilizes the situations in the northern part of the town”, said Ivanovic
He once again retreated that keeping in mind that there is a bad safety situation in the province, and the more frequent statements about an unfavorable outcome of the talks about the Kosovo and Metohija status, on October 2nd, the Serbs will hold a protest meeting in the center of Kosovska Mitrovica.
The UNMIK Police spokesman told B92 that contrary to previous reports, the UNMIK police did intervene. “They reacted at the very start of the fight to protect the victims from sustaining serious injuries”, Larry Miller said.
The bridge on the Ibar river was opened on Monday after being closed on August 26th, when a bomb was thrown on a café in the Serb part of the town, wounding nine people.

“The SNV most strongly condemns yet another in a whole slue of terrorist attacks against the Serbian returnees in Kosovo and Metohija, and expresses its concern that except for the condemnations from the international community and individual Albanian representatives, there have been no real results in finding the perpetrators,” claims the announcement

The participants agreed that the power of law and the institutions must be strongly present and the destructive forces can not be allowed to destabilize Kosova.
The period of the final Kosova status definition will bring the citizens of Kosova in front of many provocations by the forces that are against Kosova’s independence, and which through destabilizing Kosova want to “mine” the achievements made so far, and obstruct the process of Kosova’s independence.
The competent security institutions must do everything, so Kosova can be a safe country where there will be no place for those who want to dictate the processes of Kosova through violence. This was the joint evaluation of the participants of this meeting.
Prime Minister, Çeku said that it is a priority to increase the cooperation with the citizens, and it also is a necessary measure to establish a sustainable stability in Kosova, Çeku added “Kosova citizens safety is our first priority” and “Kosova institutions and Kosova citizens must be engaged together in order to establish a sustainable stability in Kosova”.
All of the participants agreed that the government of Kosova ,in cooperation with UNMIK, KFOR, and KPS will continue to be committed to establish a safe environment with concrete measures, which are expected to be decided during the upcoming meeting between the leaders of these institutions.
The government of Kosova strongly supports the work of the KPS in fighting crime and the forces that aim to destabilize Kosova. The government calls on the citizens to provide unreserved support for our forces of law, which will help Kosova overcome the safety challenges in Kosova.

Ulrich: KFOR Will Not Tolerate Any Kind Of Violence

26 Sep 06 (Radio Kosova) – KFOR will not tolerate any kind of violence in Kosova, said US Admiral Harry Ulrich, the Commander of NATO Allied Forces based in Naples, Italy, during a visit to Artana formerly Novo Brdo. Commenting on the statements of Serbian leaders that the independence of Kosova will generate a crisis in Balkans, he said that “it’s the people and the leaders who decide if there is going to be violence, but I don’t believe in such a thing because they are looking towards the future,” said Admiral Ulrich.
The American Admiral decided to visit the municipality of Artana (Novo Brda) this time, since this was recommended by the KFOR Commander, Roland Kather. He said that he is encouraged with the achievements made in this municipality, tolerance, participation of all ethnicities in the institutions and the municipal leaders.
Commenting on the statements of the Serb officials that Kosova’s independence would bring danger and instability in the Balkans, the American Admiral, Harry Ulrich said that he was assured by the KFOR commander in Kosova that the violence will not be tolerated. “I think that General Kather and KFOR made it clear that they will not tolerate any violence in Kosova, but I must say that the violence depends on the Kosovars and the leaders themselves and I think they would not support it”, said Admiral Ulrich.
Meanwhile, the President of the municipality, Petar Vasiq said that his municipality is on the right path to become a multiethnic municipality, but the main problems of this municipality remain the economic issues. “We agreed that this municipality is economically undeveloped and it needs support in this direction”, said Vasiq.
The Artana Municipal officials informed Admiral Ulrich on the achievements thus far as well as the further steps that their municipality should take in order for their municipality to be more functional and multiethnic.

Istog Leader Reacts Against The Gun Shots

26 Sep 06 (RTK) – The incident, which occurred in Istog on Monday night, respectively the gun shots near the house where the returned Serbian citizens have been placed, is a worrisome case. Everyone who is trying to cause troubles to the citizens and create such incidents, will receive the merited punishment, stated the leader of the Istog municipality, Fadil Ferati.
“We severely condemn the incident and we guarantee the citizens that with the cooperation of everyone, we will manage to eliminate these incidents and create a secure environment and climate for all of the citizens. I call on all of the responsible security institutions to resolve the case and put those who violate the rules, damage the public calmness, and create fear to the citizens to be placed in front of justice. We will continue our engagements with the security institutions and citizens to guarantee full security to the citizens”.

Sejdiu: The Authors Of The Incidents And Explosions Are Against The Independence

26 Sep 06 (kosova.com) – All who have been involved in the past days’ incidents and explosions are against the independence and the future of Kosova, said the Kosova President, Fatmir Sejdiu, after a meeting with the Unity Team. This meeting of the Unity Team was held before the visit of the United States Assistant Secretary of State, Daniel Fried. President Sejdiu said that in this high level meeting, the vision and arguments for the independence of Kosova during 2006 will be expressed. Sejdiu also said that he infirmed the Unity Team members about his meeting at the United Nations Security Council. “A general stability througout Kosova is needed for the achievement of independence. The actors of violence are against this will. I think that all of those who deal with different incidents are antagonists of Kosova’s independence and its future”, said President Sejdiu.
Sejdiu called for the general calmness of Kosova’s people and to be part of the common contribution for the way forward. “Such incidents contribute to those who oppose the independence and future of Kosova. They also contribute to those who want to keep Kosova under continuous tensions,” said Sejdiu. Meanwhile, according to Sejdiu, this situation would serve the accusations that Kosova is an unstable place or “Precisely, the independence of Kosova and the taking over of the political and state life by the Kosova institutions would have an impact on the local and regional instability”, said Sejdiu. He called on the security institutions to do their job in a very responsible manner.
Regarding the possibility to continue the talks with Belgrade, President Sejdiu said that actually there is nothing concrete, but it can happen if there will be an insistence by either party to included in the talks. Kosova offered its maximum. “I can say that we were very constructive during the whole process of talks because our offer is one that achieved the limit according to which we call normal for functionality in Kosova and not risking the general functionality of the Kosova institutions in the future”, said Sejdiu adding that the insistence for other talks could be a direct effect on the length of the process.

Schook: I Am Really Tired Of This Bridge

26 Sep06 (Radio Kosova) – During his visit to the Municipal Assembly of Mitrovica, the deputy head UNMIKadministrator, Steven Schook, asked the leaders of the municipality and the citizens for a bigger devotion and to be responsible during these very important moments for Kosova and Mitrovica. “The message is clear and simple, it is enough. It is time for every one to behave correctly,” said Schook.
After the meeting, Ibrahim strongly condemned Monday night’s incident and asked the citizens to keep in mind the important process through which Kosova and Mitrovica is passing, asking them for responsibility in what they do. Meanwhile, Schook said that he asked the municipal leaders for a bigger devotion on the ground to talk to people and clarify the situation and the moment through which Kosova is going through because the leaders have this responsibility. “My main demand for all of the leaders is their bigger inclusion with all the people of Mitrovica because we’ve had enough incidents and it is time for every one to behave correctly as human beings. I am really tired of this bridge which always is the main topic in every discussion. Today afternoon, I will have a meeting with my men to talk about the security aspect. I want to see integration and a safer engagement in both parts of Mitrovica. We will try to reopen this bridge as soon as possible”, said Schook

Human Rights Watch concludes on the basis of evidence available on these ninety incidents that as few as 488 and as many as 527 Yugoslav civilians were killed as a result of NATO bombing.

Nice citation of a Communist organization to support your lies about Kosovo and Serbia.

Come, come now Hoplite.

The photo of the death camp was debunked years ago.

Magazine on trial for revealing lies about Serbs

And here:

On 6 August 1992, the international media broadcast pictures of a supposed Bosnian Serb death camp for Muslim prisoners of war. These pictures were taken from footage shot 5 August at a facility in the Bosnian town of Trnopolje (pronounced turn-OP-ul-yay). The film crew from the British news station, ITN, was led by reporter Penny Marshall, and accompanied by reporters Ian Williams and Ed Vulliamy.

Unfortunately for ITN, there is a hard record of what their film crew actually saw in Bosnia on 5 August 1992.  That's because Serbian Television (RTS) covered the visit. An RTS crew followed ITN as they inspected a detention center in the town of Omarska and a refugee center at Trnopolje (pronounced turn-OP-ul-yay.), where the supposed death camp footage was shot.  So RTS filmed the same things ITN filmed and sometimes filmed the ITN reporters as well. Based on this RTS footage, Emperor’s Clothes produced a movie which proves that ITN did not film a death camp. Rather, pictures of the refuge center at Trnopolje were doctored and misrepresented to create the illusion of a concentration camp.

Not only does clinton continue to lie and lie about the Serbs and the Kosovo "genocide", but he goes all over the world (often accompanied by Bill Gates) with that foundation of his, supposedly to help with Third World poverty and disease. He even apologized to Rwanda for doing nothing about the real genocide there, as he promotes his foundation's activities in Rwanda. (Of course, he does NOTHING about apologizing to Serbia, and directing foundation money to Serbian reconstruction and refugee aid.)

The REAL truth about the clinton/Gates efforts is that they are aimed at promoting the beyond-the nation-state New World Order!!!! The "humanitarian aid", just like the promise of NATO/EU membership to Serbia and its neighbors, is just a come-on for swallowing the NWO Kool-Aid. clinton, as usual, is not a humnanitarian, but a humaniterrorist!!!!.

Tom, its OK for you to "promote yourself" as someone who was on the ground and behind-the-scenes in Kosovo. We have had individuals on FR like the now-banned "Ronly-Bonly Jones" who claimed to have been on the scene in the Balkans, and spewed the grossest Serbophobic propaganda. (We also of course, have low-level NWO hangers-on like Hoppy who promote themselves as "foreign policy experts" and spew the same lies.) Please keep telling, and documenting, the truth!!!!

"He even apologized to Rwanda for doing nothing about the real genocide there, as he promotes his foundation's activities in Rwanda."

He made a short visit to Rwanda after the genocide was stopped - by an invading army of expatriate Tutsis, and their children who'd served in the armies of surrounding African countries - and didn't even bother to turn off the aircraft engines, as he gave an insincere - or so it appeared to the Rwandans themselves - "apology".

That war took several times the entire Balkan war deaths in less than 3 1/2 months, and it was directed against peaceful civilians - not separatists, paramilitary, or an army. It was not a civil war againsts armies and armed combatants - but pure genocide where women and children were killed along with the men by the Hutus as quick as they could.

Nice citation of a Communist organization to support your lies about Kosovo and Serbia.

Feel free to ignore the agreement between HRW's and the then Serbian government's numbers.

If new numbers been provided by the Serbian government since Slobo was booted, feel free to cite them, along with the relevant link.

Sorry. It was the debunking which was debunked.

Or are you going to argue with Hume and Deichmann's own statements given under oath during their libel trial?
