North Korea with Nukes? Iran with Nukes? Is this a good time to have Democrats in Power?

Edited on 10/09/2006 2:21:15 PM PDT by Jim Robinson. [history]

I'm sorry folks, but with the ongoing war in the Middle East and the terrorist states North Korea and Iran threatening to hold the world hostage with nukes, how can any person claiming to be conservative (or even American for that matter) even possibly consider sitting out or voting third party in the coming election?

The world is simply too dangerous a place to allow the cowardly, America hating Democrats to control the congress. We finally have a president with the gonads to act against the terrorists when necessary after eight years of Clinton's weakness and inaction and we need a congress that will not pull the plug on him or our military. This is not a time for conservatives to go wobbly on national defense. The Democrats would be a disaster for America and for the world.

We do indeed live in interesting times.

Responsible conservatives Americans should do their utmost to prevent a cut and run Democrat takeover next month.

"Holding my nose and voting straight R in Ohio..."

I guess that's the feeling of most of us conservative-minded folks here in Ohio....we've got the choicest of two RINO's for the Senate (DeWhine and Voinovich), and real fringe wingnuts for the House of Representatives (I'm lookin' at Sherrod the Socialist Brown), so we're basically back to voting "against" Democrats, as opposed to "for" Republicans here.....

I was really thinking of sitting this election out, for the first time since I first voted in 1968. Especially since I live in a rock solid Democrat area. However, with this development I will go and cast my vote for the GOP once again, if for nothing else than to be counted.

The Democrats will not protect the Republic and despite the faults I find with GW and the current GOP leadership, the choice is more than obvious.

I hope every Republican, conservative, moderate, whatever, gets out there and votes. Even if your particular critter is a 100% safe seat. Send a message to the dems that we don't want them and their anger and their smear tactic and their love of the terrorists over their own military. Give them a big, big shout out...WE DON'T WANT WHAT YOU ARE SELLING!

AMEN! AMEN! AMEN!

The unabased bias of the drive by media may just backfire on them. Even the braindead are beginning to see the agenda of the liebral press ... and I don't think most are liking it.

I agree.

But once we've voted for the RINOs, how do we get them to see the light?

If the dems take control back this November, North and South Korea will be re-united as a Chinese province.

Every Republican I know is determined to vote straight "R", especially after the Foley media blitz that says we'll be disgusted and stay home, or not vote "R."

The RATS talking points will be that it happened on the GOP watch, therefore they're to blame. And the sheeple will believe it, some of them anyway.

No.

But as far as I'm concerned there's never a "good time" for Democrats to be in power.

I will say that if McCain somehow becomes the Republican nomination I will not vote for him - period.

Yes, in the end you are correct.
I have to hold my nose and vote for pro-abortion Shays up here in Connecticut.
But given that Lieberman's as pro-war as any Republican, and the Republican candidate can't be trusted with money, I'm going to hold my nose and vote for Lieberman.

I thought the border and abortion mattered the most, and maybe in the cosmic scheme of things with our Maker it does, but there's no anti-war anti-abortion candidate on the ticket to test my allegiances, and getting nuked to go meet my Maker sooner doesn't seem like a wholesome way to test the theory.

I've voted a straight Republican ticket since 9-11 and am not about to stop this November.

I'd also encourage Freepers to support Republicans outside their own state. My favorite Repub challenger is Diana Irey in Pennsylvania--who will boot John Murtha with our help!

Most of us had a sick stomach while carter was present, and much joy to see Reagan elected. I sure don't want that sick stomach, "ashamed to be an American because we act like weenies, let terrorists hold our folks, and try to punish the world by not going to the Olympics...... those poor folks who trained all their lives for????" No way i could handle another dem wit.
