And Not Only the House--GOP Insiders Say Democrats Could Win Senate Too
Optimism and realism are two of the essential ingredients for winning in politics.
During the three national election victories presided over by George W. Bush and his top political adviser Karl Rove in 2000, 2002 and 2004 the Republican Party had reason to be both optimistic and realistic about its prospects for victory.
But regarding the 2006 midterms, just three weeks away, many Republican strategists and party donors believe the only realistic position is one that's far from optimistic. With an unpopular war hanging over their heads and President Bush in his sixth year in office (when a president's party typically suffers significant congressional losses), numerous Republican sources believe that Democrats are likely to win more than the 16 seats they need to win back control of the House and could possibly gain the six Senate seats required to resume control of that chamber.

The suggestion of ____ Ms. Pelosi and ____ Mr. Reid running the highest legislative branches of government will help to turn out Republican voters. The MSM/Dems will experience unintended consequences of their bias and propaganda.
In love, of course. Nuthin but love.
It's always good news when Kos is upset.
Your "psych-warfare" is what the commies used to call
"agit-prop". Same thing.
:-)
Imagine how sweet it will be when we hold both houses?
This is a classic Rovian techniques. Make the Dims overconfident.
If the Left didn't own the MSM, we'd never lose an election.
They are hardly wrong to say that a lot of GOP'ers are expecting a D takeover.
You are talking to one. At least the House.
I'm not happy about it, and I hope I'm wrong, but I'm not going to put on rose colored glasses for anybody.
I am confident we are going to keep control of both the House and Senate. Looking forward to fun evening.
This just in ...
In a straw poll of average Americans, 90 out of 92 believe Mark Halperin is a pinhead. There. That was easy. What MSM-network will hire me to be their "Political Director" (an ominous title)?
Is this pre-emptive surrender on the part of the Republicans?
Or is it artificially lowered expectations, so when the dust settles on the day reserved for Dem'crats to go to the polls ( November 8th this year, I believe), the outcome will not look quite so bad, in retrospect?
Is it meant to get the Republican base out there, against all expectations, all riled up and driven to crawling over broken glass to get to the polls?
(Or, just maybe, it is a very sophisticated rope-a-dope to lull the Dem'crats into self-suppression of their own vote, by not being as concerned about a Dem'crat win.)
Help! There are just SO many aspects to this whole "finesse" political scheming, I just can't keep up.
and so is a growing number of weak kneed RINO Republicans.....a good chunk of the party has a decidedly socialist and/or defeatist stench coming off of it. They never did act like winners even after taking both houses after 60 plus years
November 7th will be fun evening to watch MSM Network News!
They must be talking about novak, barnes and kristol!!!
LLS
If the dems win - they'll start impeachment proceedings immediately - even without this.
Go Tigers!!!!!!!!(and the Yankees were boasting about how EASY it was going to be to beat the Tigers!)
How many conservative voters even answer their phone when they are home? Most use voice mail to screen their calls or are not even home. And, how many do all of their telephony with cell phones?
I have done voter phone calling for Mike McGavick's U.S. Senate race in Washington State. On a given night I have been able to talk to one out of eight voters I have called. Many of the phone numbers have been disconnected. Many are voice mail machines. There are some who put their phone line on a FAX machine to discourage phone callers. A few have moved. These are supposed to be targeted Republican voters to get out the vote. Even with these targeted voters, I get several in a given night that were targeted Republican by mistake and these will hang up on me. This tells me that my chances of getting a person on the telephone who is a DemonRAT are very high.
I agree, MSM is lying about poll numbers so they can investigate Diebold.
