Strange bedfellows: Michael Savage Donates to Democrats
San Francisco Chronicle ^ | 10/16/06 | arual

Strange bedfellows: It turns out that ultra-hot conservative talk show host Michael Savage is backing Oakland Mayor Jerry Brown for state attorney general. "What can I say? I think he'd make a great attorney general compared to the other guy. By the way, who is the other guy?'' Savage said, when asked why he chose Democrat Brown over conservative Republican Chuck Poochigian. Savage, whose rants can be heard locally on KNEW-AM, is backing up his hot talk with some hot money as well. Savage Productions, which lists Savage as president and his wife, Janet Weiner, as director, has donated $5,600 to Brown's campaign. "You have to make choices in an imperfect world,'' Savage said. "And this, this Machugian guy. (Like we said, it's Poochigian.) I never heard of him. I don't even know who he is." Poochigian has spent the past 12 years in Sacramento, first in the Assembly and now in the Senate. Doesn't impress the president of the Savage Nation. "Why bet on a horse that isn't going to win? Why throw your money into the garbage?'' So how did the best-selling author of "Liberalism is a Mental Disorder'' wind up backing a liberal once nicknamed "Governor Moonbeam"? "People change. He changed. He has experience,'' Savage said of Brown. "He started the Oakland military academy -- that was a good thing." And Brown's politics? "He's moved to the center, which is what this socialist state needs," Savage said.

Strange Conservatives get blamed that Savage is an extreme right wing nut job but it is not true... Never thought it for a moment. He beats up both liberals and Conservatives with his rants however, he does support the Jews so I guess any defender of the Jews are right wing nut jobs... who knew?

Weiner used to be on the radio in Madison WI. He was replaced by Hannity...Yea!!! I'd rather listen to NPR and hear what the enemy says, than listen to Weiner and hear what the angry, drunk, and psychotic say.

His hypocritical excuse for supporting Moonbeam is the same moral relativism he faults others for. The truth is he sees a fellow kook in the eyes of Moonbeam.

"Dr. Savage is a character, invented by an actor, who is making a living off of this persona and laughing all the way to the bank."

Actually, that is the most plausible explaination I have ever heard.

"In private though, I can say from second hand experience that Dr. Weiner (Michael Savage), when you really get to know and understand him is a first class asshole."

How would you like to be on his radio show staff? I'll bet they last about a week at best.

Since I have been routing for Savage's downfall, I get a huge chuckle when Savage pschofants call in and get treated rudely. Savage will hear the first question, then ignore them the entire rest of the call, even when the person asks him another question. He totally ignores them.

My tag line is a sarcastic response to Weiner's claim that he has "10 to 20 million listeners".

Oh man, what will the three guys on the Savage Daily Thread say now?

I will always respect Brown for doing more to take on Bill Clinton and his wife in a single debate that H.W. Bush managed to do in three of them. That was the first time the public ever heard about the Rose Law Firm. If the media had done its job and followed his lead, the Clinton Disaster would never have happened.

He butchers historical facts so badly..

This despite labeling himself an "historian." ....almost as funny as his constant reference to himself as a "highly trained scientist." (Savage claims he earned his Ph.D. from UC Berkeley in Epidemiology, but the school's records report Savage's degree to be in Nutritional Ethnomedicine).

He's a liar, a nutcase, and a (barely closeted) liberal.

"I was hoping the same, but Savage seems to have powerful tin-foil-hat transmitters/recievers."

I think it's actually tinfoil "fishtanks."

Useful idiots for the liberals and terrorists, just of another stripe.

Why am I not surprised at all with this? I have heard and known many high profile Right Wing commentators who have said that there are some in their business who only play the 'Conservative' card simply because it pays the most. The first name that always struck me was Savage.. this is just more evidence.

Maybe now his fans here will finally see the moron for what he is --- a moron.

Whatever you say about Savage, you cannot say he is a "moron". The guy has 2 PhD's and has been way ahead of the social and medical curve for decades.

"I have been telling you Bush fans what a globalist-internationalist he was, dispite his slick sloganeering faking you guys to believe otherwise."

Some will never believe it. CAFTA, the lack of securing either land border (with Canada and Mexico) after 9/11, the support for the Law Of the Sea Treaty (LOST), the fact he hasn't tried to get the U.S. out of the UN or cut spending to that corrupt organization isn't enough proof to some. Heck, nothing will. 9/11 made nation building a conservative value to these people.

I have always said The Savage radio show should come to you in a plain brown wrapper stamped with "for entertainment purposes only". He rants and raves and has an ultra ego that makes me sick. He hates Rush Limbaugh, calls him "Rush Bimbo", and I have heard his say some awful vulgar stuff about other conservative pundits. If they have a larger audience than his or they command more respect then they are on his hate list.

As far as politics he is all over the map. One day he's saying Bush needs to be thrown out of office, and the next Bush is our countries only hope for survival.

I have a hunch that Weiner was a socialist for most of his pre-radio life. He never was a Republican/Democrat or conservative... he just became disillusioned with the socialist left.

He is NOT the Bush RNC (Republican National Committee) which supported both Arlen Specter and then Lincoln Chaffee against REAL Republican primary opponents.
-----
Many people don't like Savage because he does hit the nail on the head much of the time. He says what some so-called conservatives do not want to hear or believe...Sure, he is wild and wrong at times, but so what. Much of the time he is right, says it just like it is, about both sides of the aisle in Washington (which most Americans are too weak to do) ---- the real Washington is coming to the surface quickly and many will see that much of Savage's "ravings" are true. Start with the Congress, the most corruptable body of people in America, then work your way up. Take a hard look at what the Congress is actually doing FOR AMERICA then look what it is doing TO AMERICA....it is a very sad pathetic disaster for the American citizen.

Like it or not. Savage is right, alot of the time.

"2 PhD's"

Correction: an over-educated moron.

PhD are, in my experience, a sure sign that someone can't cut it in the real world.

Wow, talk about "BOTS".

Here you have a thread about Savage, but the Savage defender immediately launch into Bush hating.

I see classic hero worship by the Savage fans (formerly called Weinerettes)
