Polls show improving news for GOP in Senate

Excerpt: Polls show improving news for GOP in Senate

The last few days have had some encouraging Senate polls for Republicans, while House polls are still mixed. Zogby has Talent up 3% in Missouri, Allen up 3% in Virginia, and Corker up 7% in Tennessee. He also has Kean up 2% in New Jersey where the New Republic exposes the smell of scandal emanating from Bob Menendez.

Zogby has Dewine down 4% in Ohio and Bouchard in Michigan only 4% behind Debbie Stabenow (I would not bet on accuracy of this last one). Rasmussen, generally more reliable, has a new poll with Burns down only 3% in Montana (was 6%). New poll today has Chafee down 4% in Rhdde Island (also closer than before).

It's all going to be about turnout. I believe 'moderate' dims are becomming truly disgusted with their own party.

The pollsters are happy to carry the libs' water to try to affect the outcome but, in the end, their own credibility is at stake so they have to show more realistic polls at the end of the campaign. If all Republicans show a miracle jump of 8-10 points, it becomes too obvious that the earlier polls were rigged so they'll dribble out "Republicans are climbing" stories which are the lead in to the actual victories you'll see.

There never was a Democrat bump, just more honest polling going on now than earlier.

The message in all of this is get your behind to the polls and vote! This election will be very close and we need to make the strong effort we made in 2004 to win.

Now that we have heard about the 'cut and run conservatives' that are voting for the democrats or staying home and not being a team player, we are finally getting the word out...

The Republicans WILL win the house and senate, and send some people packing.....

Take the races in PA.

Santorum has had nothing but 'cut and run conservatives' at him for months, and during the debates with Casey Jr. he has come out on top....the race with Murtha and Irey, Murtha has the vets against him now with his mouth going downgrading them....

Just because there are alot of people in Philly, Pitts and Harrisburg that are democrats, don't forget the rural areas of this commonwealth, we will vote Republican!!

I'm sure they can find a couple more scandals before the Nov elections.

Rick Santorum is still alive. I just sent another check to his campaign. I'm not going to lose this man's Conservative leadership because he's out of money.

Please: Give what you can to his campaign and let's help carry this good man to victory.

Well, gosh -- you wouldn't know this from the feature in the Washington Post this morning entitled "Democrats Strengthen Chances For Senate." Two things just killed me about it: (1) even though Allen has NEVER trailed in the polls to Webb, they continue to talk about Allen's flailing candidacy; and (2) Ford stumbled in a major -- some would say desperate -- way this week when he tried unsuccessfully to crash a Corker media event (WaPo didn't mention it at all).

I mean, I'm more than used to the MSM being the cheerleaders for the Democratic party, but the glaring omissions in this piece were incredible. Obviously, these two foregoing facts would have been difficult to reckon with the title of the article. . .

"There never was a Democrat bump, just more honest polling going on now than earlier."

That's true. I believe that many pollsters tried to influence the democrat "landslide" by reporting skewed poll results. Those who want to retain their credibility are now reporting the more unbiased results.

Mich is the surpise coming. Alot the undercides was from Republican heavry Western Michign and they just did not now who was Mike is. They starting to line up behind him now. Here is some more thanks that I think will lead to the upset in Mich.

1. Union Dems staying home. Durning the summer Jen was behind because Devos was getting some good support from them. Her campign has done a good job at turning Dick into a rich outsourcers who is trying to buy the Gov's Mansion. Problem is they still don't like Jen and might not show up forgetting about the senate race since the Gov's have been the "main event" in Mich this year.

2. High turnout in Oakland Country (Mike's home base) and Western Mich. Two republicans who hold state wide races are running for a new term and all both up big. One or not both I believe are from Western Mich and suppose to have very good GOTV. So a bottom up coattials affect.

3. Arab American voters. After 9/11 and the Iraq war they switch from Republican to Dems. But remember the 2000 race where CAIR ran the race baiting ad agisnter Spencer accuse him of allowing terriosit into the country. Debbie stumble trying to distance herself from the ad and many feel she won because of that ad. Do they either not vote or vote for Mike in numbers like before 9/11? We see.

The most optimistic way to read this is that Santorum’s race may be the only one beyond hope at the moment (closest polls have him 5 to 8 down, others more).

This just makes me absolutely sick. 10% of Pennsylvanians will vote for Casey because they think they're voting for his father. Another 20% will vote for him because they believe that Santorum said any one of a number of things that he didn't say.

The PA Republican party has got to be one of the worst in the nation. Thanks for giving us Lynn Swann, Arlen Specter, and doing NOTHING to stamp out, or even minimize the RAMPANT voter fraud in Philadelphia, just giving the state to Democraps.

If what I just wrote made you sad or angry,
it was probably just a joke.

"This election will be very close"

You can bet the close elections will be challenged and bogged down with lawsuits and recounts. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that Democrat operatives have tampered with the voting machines themselves, so they can trot it out where it's useful. I don't know enough about Diebold machines to say, but they really should consider a clean reinstall of the software to head off this possibility.

We could very well hold the Senate. The House is another matter.
