I vote to send the Vatican the expense Americans are being made to spend - thanks to decisions by our traitor courts and politicians who have turned their collective backs on the Constitution and American law.

Otherwise..........

Thousands of poor Mexicans risk their lives each year sneaking across the 2,000-mile (3,200-km) border to seek jobs.

And thousands more seek freebies.

The cardinal is entitled to his opinion, but I do notice that the Vatican has walls intended, presumably, to keep the uninvited out.

It is inhuman for Mexico's goverment to pimp Mexicans into coming over and working illegally here so they can keep their tanked economy afloat with our dollars.

The good old Vatican boilerplate that tells the USA to take care of everyone else in the world. The problem is that the people in too many countries know how to multiply but not how to divide. It's not our job to feed and theirs to breed.

The Vatican should shut the heck up!

They have an embassy if they wish to express themselves to our government.

International public preaching on US domestic affairs is a thin line.

They need clean up their own house first. Get that log out of their own eye.

The Vatican can tell us how immoral it is to not let these people upgrade their lives. Maybe a contribution from their coffers to help the U S Govt pay for the illegals would bring more backbone to this Cardinals statement. A Catholic.

I suppose locks on the Vatican palace museum gates are inhuman too, no? Bad Vatican. And that SAME cardinal came out and said that everyone should obey the law. Well, which is it? These leftists just never seem to think things through. This guy should shut up and pray.

This is a map of Vatican City:

This cardinal should note that Vatican City has been protected by a wall for over a thousand years. And I would bet a month's salary that he has a lock on his front door, too.

Cardinal, how about if we charter half a dozen 747s and start a humanitarian air bridge and fly a half million Mexicans to the welcoming arms of the Vatican???

Cardinal Martino's views are not necessarily the views of the Vatican. Martino is an anti-American socialist, the permanent observer to the United Nations, and unfortunately, made president of the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace under Pope John Paul II. He would never have been chosen for the post by Pope Benedict.

Please consider the following from my notes:

Michael Novak Attacks Cardinal Martino, Defends the Iraq War

Sept 16, 2004

"Martino? There he goes again! The Italian newspaper Il Foglio ran a piece Dec. 16 about the frustration at the Vatican, at the secretariat of state, with the imprudent, irascible anti-Americanism of Cardinal Martino, an unfortunate recent appointment (late last year) to the Council for Justice and Peace, who has not ceased being an embarrassment to his superiors." By Michael Novak.

(Source unknown, 17 December 2003)

"When I was in Rome last February, Cardinal Martino was already under heavy fire for his intemperate and irrepressible anti-Americanism. Even those who before the war leaned more to the French/German position than to the American were dismayed by his uncalled-for comments.

Il Foglio pointed out today that Cardinal Sodano, the secretary of state (the official who functions something like a prime minister for the Vatican, the top leader of administration domestic and foreign), not only changed the whole title of the document on World Peace released today but also edited out the most offensive passages of Cardinal Martino, from whose department the draft arrived in the last few days.

"The title, for example, went from "International Law, a Way of Peace," to the less ideological "An Ever Timely Commitment: Teaching Peace." Other rhetorical flourishes were also edited out, according to Il Foglio."

It is important that those of you who so quickly condemn the Vatican understand that the very same schism dividing our country also exists within the Church. I would hope you will make yourselves aware of those divisions and that you would consider "rooting" for Pope Benedict's conservatism to win out, whether you are religious or not.

Hey, before we go on with the Catholic bashing...

realize this Cardinal Martino is a loose cannon. He has been reprimanded more than once by this Pope and previous one for talking out of turn, and giving his opinion as official view of the Pope when it was not.

Martino was the spokesman all over the news before we went into Iraq condemning America (Pope John Paul II, contrary to popular belief never "condemned" the Iraq war).

Everyone knows Martino is a a leftist and America-hater. The MSM misleads people when it says "The Vatican" which implies it's an official statement on morals by the pope, but it can be any Vatical official just spouting his own personal views.

Pope Benedict, TEAR DOWN THAT WALL!

It is INHUMAN and INHUMSNE, and UNCONSCIONABLE to keep the POOR, the DOWN-TRODDEN, the ASYLUM SEEKER out of Vatican City!

If they want to come here why don't they let us take over their government? Can't they figure out that something works here that doesn't there? Mexico is ramped with corruption. If they would clean that up there would be plenty for their people but their leaders probably don't care or are desperately afraid of lesser elements. Mexico is a country rich with natural resources and possibilities. I am sure what they need first is what we need too, a gospel revival.
