The PC angle is of course ridiculous. OTOH, the various X ages weren't very good for describing the progress of a people in the first place.

There have been a lot of trashy sitcoms about dysfunctional families that have done well over the years. Some have had better writing and acting (think "The Honeymooners") and some have truly stunk up the entire medium (like "Married With Children"). However, the idea of the cavemen 'struggling with discrimination' will be so PC and so preachy that it will not be funny.

I have no problem with the term stone age, it's when we invented fire.

Riggghht, walking upright, discovering fire, inventing the wheel, laying the foundation for all mankind. You're right... sorry we couldn't get that to ya sooner.

Referring the people as Stone Age today, does not make sense. They live in the same age as the rest of the world.

Primitive is much more applicable, but it does have connotations that the primitives are lesser than the non-primitives. Thus less-developed, the same term used for not-as-advanced economies rather than third world, could be used.

Before you go along deriding this, how many here would get offended if they were referred to as primitive or their culture as Stone Age? You'd just ignore it, you type? Bull feathers.

If it isn't so difficult to use an accurate and polite term rather than one your fellow man finds offensive, then use the polite term. Simple.

Since I have absolutely no respect for those who issue these PC edicts and, in fact, have nothing but disdain for them and their fiats, I will continue to use
"stone age" and other phrases of MY choosing.

Could these self anointed arbiters of social discourse be more irrelevant?

A trio of the beetle-browed but trendy men will "struggle with prejudice on a daily basis as they live the lives of normal thirtysomethings in 2007 Atlanta," the network said.

Atlanta is a curious choice. Will it shows Blacks being predjudiced against the cavemen or will it be the stereotypical white rednecks?

Maybe "stone-age" is offensive to the Taliban, most Muslim countries and Liberals.

I have no problem with the term stone age, it's when we invented fire.

Discovering fire, inventing the wheel, learning to walk upright, laying the foundation for modern civilization... Maybe you should have gotten back to us with that information a little sooner.
