What a haunting song. This is from John Lennon' demo he made in 1977. Yoko gave the demo to Paul McCartney while they were making the Anthology in 1994. They couldn't have pulled it off without Peter Jackson and former Beatles producer George Martin's son, Giles. Nevertheless enjoy the song.
  • The Beatles Get Ready to Drop Final Single, “Now and Then,” Remixed from John Lennon 1978 Song (9am Thursday)

The Beatles are ready to drop their so-called final single. It drops Thursday morning 9am Eastern, 6am Western. “Now and Then” is a reworking of a 1978 John Lennon song, just as “Real Love” was 30 years ago. The Beatles’ social media pages have added a mysterious picture of a cassette about to end on its A side. This is a Bat signal that the record, which Paul McCartney first mentioned months ago, is on its way. This is NOT artificial intelligence. It’s just Paul and Ringo adding their contributions to Lennon’s original recording. They’ve got a George Harrison bit...

Happy birthday to Ringo Starr (Richard Starkey) who was born on this day in 1940 and turns 83 today. Ringo is one of the two surviving members of what we used to call “The Fab Four.“ The band stopped recording 50-plus years ago and we are still talking about it. I guess that's impressive.Ringo will probably go down in history as one of the luckiest men ever born. Talk about “being in the right place at the right time” or winning the biggest lottery of all time. "The luck of Ringo" or something like that.In the summer of 1962, The...

Back in 2008, a journalist asked Ringo Starr what he wanted for his birthday. “Peace and love,” Starr replied. Ringo is so beloved that, these days, every July 7, social media is filled with “peace and love” tags for Ringo’s birthday. Ringo — one of the few “one name” celebrities — was 68 that year (he’s 82 now). He brings his still youthful stellar musicianship, along with his “All Starr” band, to Benaroya Hall for an Oct. 11 concert. (Starr tested positive for the coronavirus and had to cancel and reschedule several stops on his tour this week. As of...

I don’t want to stir up controversy with this post. I’m just seeking the truth and I know this forum loves to expose liberal celebrities…Susan Headley (AKA Suzy Thunder or Susan Thunder) was a famous hacker during the late 70s and early 80s. Susan later testified against Kevin Mitnick, the head of the hacking operation, in a criminal trial and she also testified before the US Senate on national security. She was the same Suzy Thunder who was a teenage prostitute (born in 1959!) and rock groupie in LA in the late 70s. Here's some info about her days as...
  • BDS Fail: Ringo Goes Where Lorde Fears to Tread, Confirms Two Shows in Israel

Ringo Starr will perform two shows in Israel later this year in defiance of the anti-Israel BDS movement that calls for the complete isolation of the Jewish State. The former Beatle made the announcement on his personal website. It comes just a week after New Zealand singer Lorde cancelled her planned Tel Aviv concert after a vocal campaign by BDS activists. Ringo has chosen a band that includes fellow rock legends Steve Lukather of Toto, Greg Rollie of Journey and Graham Gouldman of 10cc as the All-Starrs. The two shows are booked for Tel Aviv’s Menorah Mivtahim Arena on June...
  • North Carolina and Mississippi See Tourist Backlash After L.G.B.T. Laws

The reaction has been swift. The singer Bryan Adams canceled his concert in Mississippi in protest against what he called an “anti-L.G.B.T.” law, and the actress Sharon Stone decided not to film a movie there. In North Carolina, Bruce Springsteen, Ringo Starr, Pearl Jam and Ani DiFranco have canceled shows in response to a law regulating transgender bathroom access. While the celebrity response is drawing considerable attention, the travel industry in each state is more concerned about lower-profile visitors: the everyday tourists who have already begun canceling trips or planning vacations elsewhere. Both states have been hit by hotel cancellations...
  • Is Ringo Starr Offended by the Lyrics to ‘Get Back’?

It occurred to me the other day after I read that Ringo Starr is refusing to play a show in North Carolina because he wants to make himself relevant is feeling put out by the so-called bathroom bill banning men from women’s rooms: he must really regret having played drums on “Get Back.” I was surprised this morning to see that no has pointed this out yet. For those of you who don’t know the lyrics to The Beatles’s 17th American number-one single by heart, here are the last two verses: Sweet Loretta Martin thought she was a woman But...

Ringo Starr won't be performing in the Tar Heel State. The former Beatle has just canceled a concert scheduled for June in Cary, North Carolina, citing HB2, an anti-LGBT law signed by Gov. Pat McCrory that has drawn national outrage. "I'm sorry to disappoint my fans in this area, but we need to take a stand against this hatred. Spread peace and love," the 75-year old singer-songwriter, drummer, and actor said in a statement first reported by ABC News on Twitter:

Forever a Beatle, Starr will enter the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a solo artist on Saturday, inducted along with an eclectic class of musicians. Starr, who was previously enshrined with the Beatles in 1988, will be honored along with pop punks Green Day, soul singer-songwriter Bill Withers, underground-rock icon Lou Reed, bluesy guitarist Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble, Joan Jett and The Blackhearts, The Paul Butterfield Blues Band and The "5" Royales. When the Beatles split at the height of their fame, Starr decided to take a shot at being a frontman and surprisingly flourished with...

Everybody loves the Beatles. That's the first thought that came to Slidell artist Lori Gomez's mind as she tried to come up with a theme to transform a century-old, donated piano into a work of art. The piano would be auctioned to help raise money to build veterans' homes in east St Tammany Parish, and so Gomez set about refurbishing and then painting the colorful Beatles artwork onto it.But two final touches have made the upright, antique piano more rare and valuable than anyone involved in the upcoming auction ever imagined: personal autographs by both Ringo Starr and Sir Paul...

ST. HELENA, Calif. — The scientists exchanged one last look and held their breath. Everything was ready. The electrode was in place, threaded between the two hemispheres of a living cat’s brain; the instruments were tuned to pick up the chatter passing from one half to the other. The only thing left was to listen for that electronic whisper, the brain’s own internal code. The amplifier hissed — the three scientists expectantly leaning closer — and out it came, loud and clear. “We all live in a yellow submarine, yellow submarine, yellow submarine ....” “The Beatles’ song! We somehow picked...

Ringo Starr looks at a photograph of his young self and laughs. ‘We didn’t know what was ahead of us. You never do. We didn’t think it would last.’ The black-and-white image shows the Beatles in suits in the early Sixties, waiting to appear on a television show. He’s not sure which one. Paul is whistling, George is distracted, John is wide-eyed and Ringo is staring at the camera, his feet up on a seat. In the picture (below) he looks the most assured, by far. ‘Even Paul thought, “Well, I’ll probably end up as a writer.” So did John....
