Your description of today's events is why I have been up since 4 a.m.--when it became obvious the sleet beat us--til now. This has been a totally awesome day in every way--the sight of all those Veterans so uplifting--you can feel the camaraderie as you look at the photos--and read the posts.

And don't forget, we haven't even heard from Kristinn or Jim Robinson yet and so many of the others who were there. I know Tired of Laundry's home page is true--a clean house is a sign of a broken computer--at least it will be this week. Blessings on all who gave their all today--again! You are our true American heroes--and today we finally got to tell you all that! God Bless America.

I lived in Cleveland in 1960 for about 3 years and in Jackson Township and Massillon for 10. I have a son in Cleveland and one in Cincinnati--I've made the drive many times from Bucks County, PA--beautiful drive!

I haven't had the heart to unpack my day pack yet!

CNN just played a fairly long story on the anti-war crowd

So how prominently did CNN feature the fact that ANSWER and many of the allied orgs are actually pro-war, affirmatively supporting anti-Democratic and/or anti-Western insurgencies all over the globe.

I'm sure they mentioned the fact they they support the communist regimes in Cuba and even North Korea.

And they can't have failed to highlight the fact that they oppose the international peace process in Palestine, only allowing speakers at their rallies that advocate a "single-state" solution (i.e. the dissolution of Israel).

Right?

God bless every single one of them. It's inspiring to see them rally like this. They should have seen it over 30 years ago when THEY were doing the fighting. Well, the Dem politicians, the media, and the "war is not an option" folks caused Vietnam to fall to communist, murdering vermin, and they killed untold numbers of innocent people. If they had let the military do what needed to be done, we would have been victorious and the war would have been over much sooner, with thousands fewer casualties.

If we let it, that's exactly what will happen with Iraq. This time, I'm glad the Vietnam Vets are not standing alone. WE CAN'T LET THE USELESS IDIOTS SUCCEED!

If you started reading at post #1 and are here, you have learned more today than in your whole senior year, RWCC, as far as I'm concerned. And this is something you won't learn in school. Remember it, treasure it and never forget it was our military who made it possible for you to live in freedom and to speak your mind, because one day the torch will be passed to you and your generation. It's great to have you on Free Republic and we'll all be watching for your posts!

Hi POPSICLE- I'm glad to hear you made it home safely. A very few moonbats who tried to get in with signs, and the traffic security made them leave the signs in the trash.

I echo your sentiments to all those who made it today.

Ohio and PA are two beautiful states.

I grew up in NE Ohio about four miles from the PA border. I LOVE driving across the state, north or south...........just not in 8 inches of snow. :)

I agree though.......reading this thread has been theraputic. Next time WE will be there!

"Barriers also kept them apart.

But war protester Susanne Shine of Boone, N.C., found herself in a crowd of counterdemonstrators, and came out in tears, with her sign in shreds.

"They ripped up my peace sign," she said, after police escorted her, her husband and two adult daughters from the group. "It was really pretty scary for me.""

Agreed. I have relatives who have served in every major conflict, except the Gulf War, since World War II. None were career military, just regular sailors & soldiers doing their part. I don't understand what part of our nation's history these moonbats are missing, but they must lead pretty isolated lives to misunderstand it so thoroughly.
