We can't nominate another Bob Dole. Dole vs clinton was a disaster not to be repeated.

Having a Republican President is all that stands between us and a grim future
I disagree there. I think the whole system is rotten. A grim future is ours unless major reform occurs. But the reform is not possible even with a sympathetic president, because of the fractured nature of the country and the disparate interest groups. America is set for a fall unless something major happens (and that something major probably won't happen until the fall).

In other words they will vote for a loser if he or she supports their social beliefs. As opposed to voting for a loser who shares little of the core beliefs or values that denfine us from liberals? Get real! No to Rudy!

(Rudy: When you absolutely, positively need a liberal for President.)
To: gesully
No thanks, I'll vote for a conservative candidate instead.
To: gesully
Before you take your principled stance on abortion, gay rights and gun rights and flush the Country down the liberal toilet consider the future if we let principles blind us to reality. So we should flush our principles down the toilet to elect someone with an R next to their name, even if he IS a liberal? 6 of one, half-dozen of another, if you ask me.
To: gesully; pissant
Hope you have your flame proof suit on. I expect that pissant and his anti-Rudy crew will storm in here with torches and pitchforks at any moment.

A liberal with an "R" by his name is still a liberal.

Wake up.I urge you to take a look in the mirror when you say that. Defense and reaction is a loser's game.

They spend their entire lives on these threads, with the SAME comments, spam etc. It's hard to imagine having that level of hatred and obsession.

Fred Thompson is the most conservative electable Republican.
I think he'll run and I think he'll win.
To: gesully
My sentiments exactly, although I am not sure that Fred Thompson would be a loser if nominated. I think he would stand a decent chance, unless Hillary's private investigators can find something to do him in.

I disagree, and I think that their strident opposition to Rudy does their cause way more harm than good, but I understand where they're coming from.

"I like Rudy Giuliani....The Evangelicals he loses will be more than made up for by crossover Democrats."
Cool, sounds like you don't need us then. Good luck. Spit.
To: gesully
"The Evangelical Right is too immersed in the righteousness of social issues to deal with the hard facts of financial and international issues." If the Republican party decides to do without us, that's fine. Best of luck next election.
"In other words they will vote for a loser if he or she supports their social beliefs."
How about nominating a conservative for the R ticket? They tend to fit right in with the "Evangelical Right."

LOL. So you want to vote for someone who mirrors the lib position on those issues. And you tell "us" to get real.
