Faye Turney and the other UK personnel alive...or Ahmadinejad dead!

It's time that historical perspective and precedent, as well as toe to toe squaring off against a tyrant are applied in the Persian Gulf IMHO. As Teddy Roosevelt showed us, and has been shown coutless times since, one must stand up to tyrants and make them fear for their lives when they begin their bullying and tyranical ways.

So, Iran, the options are simple and the full might of the UK and her allies, principally the United States, should stand behind a direct statement like this...

72 Hours. Faye Turney and the other UK personnel alive...or Ahmadinejad dead!

They should kill him even if he lets them go.

The UK should make it clear that it is not a commando raid that they should fear. IMHO, it should be made clear that it is their President and ruling Mullahs who should be fearing for their lives.

I would hate to be a british soldier considering how little they care about their personnel.

Wow. She must be a chimney. I thought there was some cynical reason for the Iranians to picture her with a cigarette. Unreal

The leaders of the free world are a bunch of chickens.

Our heavyweights could give Iran a knock out blow in round one and we wouldn't have to worry about them for many many years. We may just have to kill some good people in Iran to save some better people in the free world.

Many of us agree with these words of yours. We bombed Japan and now it's a civil country. We should learn from our past. I'm tired of wimps and politically correct leaders in the West.... If we don't wake up we're doomed to Burkas.

Let's get a mean SOB in there... Giuliani.

Do you think Bush has the guts to take down the mullahs? I believe Cheney does, but sometimes I'm not too sure about Bush. Some tell me that the reason for dragging on in Iraq is our PC war being fought.

How about tests a one megaton nuclear bomb in an empty mountainous part of Iran and see what the Iranian response is? Do it near Natanz

A couple of ALCAMs launched from the Arabian Sea could bring the Iranian economy to a grinding halt.

That'll do for a start.

Just hit their single remaining gasoline refinery and watch the Iranian people get really, really pissed.

For grins, I'd target a few on the Revolutionary Guards HQ, and the major operational air bases at Tabriz, Bandar-e Abbas, Hamadan (Shahroki Air Base), Dezful (Vahdati Air Base), Shiraz, and Bushehr.

Since the Iranian Navy likes to play, I'd suggest a strike on the Bandar Beheshti naval facility. It's their last remaining Naval repair facility so knocking that out effectively ends their Navy.

Their subs are a bit worrisome since their primarily designed to lay mines, but I'd be shocked if the US Navy doesn't know exactly where each of them is down to the last GPS decimal point 24-7-365. They need to become artificial reefs.

So with a few well placed missile strikes what's left of Irans refining capacity as well as what's left of their Navy would be gone. And it wouldn't risk a single American combat troop.

After that you can tell Ahmaneedinadinnerjacket that we'll start playing rough if those Brits aren't returned post haste and without a single hair on their heads being disturbed.

But that's just me....

Jeff that old goat should have been handled years ago by a Letter of Marque and Saddam was another as well. But we should not make a threat to the goat that we can not and will not back up either. If we go to war it needs to be done right this time meaning a fully binding formal congressional declaration of war limited with solely a military agenda and mission and no more. Destroy, kill, and leave.

If that is not obtainable a Letter of Marque which would likely be to our advantage right now so would helping Israel launch the attack. There are several Constitutional ways to deal with such persons short of war and our leaders need to start using them first.

I'd place my bet there's been all available SAS personnel in Iran and searching for the captives from the get-go, and that Tony Blair is playing for time and trying to get some allies to back the UK up when they do make a move. There's the possibility there'd be Russia and China backing up Iran if things get too hot, and if that should happen, all hell would break loose.
