Patti Sapone/The Star-Ledger Former Gov. James E. McGreevey appears during custody proceedings in the Union County Courthouse last week.Former Gov. James E. McGreevey has started the process to become a priest in his newly adopted Episcopal faith and hopes to begin a three-year seminary program in the fall.
McGreevey, who often described himself as a devout Catholic while in public office, was officially received into the Episcopal religion on Sunday, at St. Bartholomew's Church in Manhattan, and is now part of the church's "discernment" phase that usually precedes any seminary work, said the Rev. Kevin Bean, vicar at St. Bartholomew.

From Roman Catholic Governor to Episcopal Bishop: perfect!
And the theology course when your transferring from Roman Catholicism is very simple.
Repeat after me (with regard to ANY aspect of Faith or Morals):
“All may, some do, none must.”
Can’t you just picture “The Robinsons” and “The McGreeveys” on a “gay cruise” vacation together!
The other posters are right, you really could NOT make it up!
On the other hand, the Episcopal minister must have been shocked to meet someone who ACTUALLY WANTED TO JOIN THE CHURCH (and not just another divorced Catholic looking for a place to have the second wedding!).
Okay, the parody song has been written. Stay tuned. Perhaps it can be a YouTube.
OKAY, LET’S SING “BEAUTY AND THE BEAST” (McGreevey is a priest) -— http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1827378/posts
Has this man no shame?
Salute ! Very clever.....
That’s a joke, right?
thanx :-)
I agree. This would be hilarious, unpeecee satire on SNL, for example, but it's completely disgraceful when it really happens. Has the ECUSA abandoned any decency whatsover, or will they actually allow this?
Pay attention to me, pay attention to me.
Episcopal That’s pretty much the only option for somebody like McGreevey, right?
Either that or Massachusetts school principal.
Oh my God, what a brilliant comment!
Enjoy reaping what you have sowed Episcapalians
sad but true
I can't stand McGreevey, he's such a disgrace, he just won't go away!!!!
His father especially, he was a Marine - hardworking man - this son continued to shame the family.
And the Catholic Church is better off without the pervert!
I’m not Episcopal - so this is a real question!
Do Episcopalians allow Gerbils behind the pulpit????
There IS a difference. Can you tell?
