The judge forgot to invoke mandatory sterilization as well.

These animals should not be allowed to breed!

"...murder by starvation, a painful and prolonged death."

I thought murder by starvation was a pleasant death.(sarc!) Didn't we hear that somewhere in the recent past?

If the mother was unable to produce enough milk, they could easily have used a soy-based formula. This one is widely available, nutritionally complete and free of animal products.

This couple sounds like a couple of wacko vegans.

Take a lion, feed him nothing but veggies and see what happens.

Reminds me of a scene from The Road to Wellville, where Anthony Hopkins, as the nutjob that created corn flakes, compared a normal wolf to his ideal "vegetarian" wolf. Not the best movie, but I won't give the scene away...although not much imagination is needed.

Agreed,

They did not intend to kill the baby and if they had only been stupid they would have taken the kid to the doctor when it had lost 20% of their weight (probably two weeks on the moron diet). If a doctor saw this kid he should lose his license!

There's something about this that doesn't quite make sense. Soy formula is not bad for a baby that small - many babies that can't tolerate lactose are put on soy formula and do just fine - in fact, they do better than they did on the cow's milk-based formula.

The article says "soy milk" not "soy formula". Two different things.

You're right. I missed that. Big difference.

Soy formula is has supplements which add vitamins. Its more calorie dense than soy milk, and (unlike juice), its not a freaking dieretic!

That flick had a couple of good laughs - nice dark humor.

The only non-protein based food I have ever seen my cat go after was cantaloupe

Iceberg lettuce and green olives. No kidding.

Guess God didn’t know what He was doing when He gave the first (vegan) diet then huh?

The’ve elevated their own Vegan lifestyle to a religion and put it clearly ahead of their childs health.

Vegans can be extremely selfish, thinking everyone should adhere to their dietary choice. I've seen vegans wanting to put their pet ferrets on a vegan diet -- and ferrets are pure carnivores!

My dogs love carrot sticks and onions. Their treats are cereal-based.

I have twin daughters, adn we go through milk and dairy product like we own stock in borden.

When my sons were boys we would go through 4 to 5 gallons of milk each week. When I'm here by mysekf I still use close to 2 gallons per week. I love a glass of very cold milk.

Geez! Don’t they know about breast feeding? Hanging’s too good for them.

If the mother is a vegan, just how much breast milk do you think she could produce per day?

Prosecutors said it was a chilling case of murder by starvation, a painful and prolonged death.

If only they'd been in Florida, it would have been peaceful and beatific.

You read my mind.

“Because we’re omnivorous, a deficiency in amino acids found only in meat actually gives us brain damage. These two couldn’t have had half a dozen functional brain cells left between them.”

Ssshuhh.....don’t let them know that. They will start using that as a defense for any crime they want to commit. And besides, technology has kept far too many stupid people from “drowning” in the gene pool.

Wow, olives? You can throw my Rhodesian Ridgeback a small burger - she’ll gulp it down and spit out the pickles.
