The parents of a baby that died of starvation after being fed a vegan diet have been found guilty of malice murder, felony murder and first degree cruelty to children.
Jade Sanders, 27, and Lamont Thomas, 31, will get an automatic life sentence for the death of their 6-week-old infant, Crown. After being fed a diet largely consisting of soy milk and apple juice, he weighed only 3 1/2 pounds when he died.
The Fulton County jury deliberated the case for about seven hours.
Prosecutors said it was a chilling case of murder by starvation, a painful and prolonged death. Attorneys representing Sanders and Thomas told jurors the first-time parents did the best they could while adhering to their vegan lifestyle. Vegans typically live free of animal products.
"They're not vegans, they're baby killers," Fulton prosecutor Mike Carlson told the jury Tuesday during his closing arguments.
The couple's attorneys said they didn't realize their baby, born at home, was in danger until minutes before he died.

From their names and lifestyle I would guess they are liberals. I could think of no better punishment than liberals spending the remainder of their lives in prison with the mark of “baby killer” stamped on them. Life is going to be very hard.
Wouldn't have "canine" teeth, either.
But murderers?
If they wanted to kill the kid, they could have sucked his brains out a minute before he was born and NARAL would have applauded.
This just proves once again that law and justice have absolutely nothing to do with one another.

The mother might not have been able to make milk. My sister was a vegetarian until she got pregnant; so was my wife. Both of ‘em changed their diets drastically during and after pregnacy in order to be able to nurse.

Why not just soy formula?
Vegan is an unnatural state for human animals - these folks always look waxy, and they have to take a bunch of supplements to stay ‘healthy.’ Sure, you can get by for awhile on plants, but the body is designed to run on animal proteins. These folks killed their kid in their own idiocy. It’s a crying shame, but maybe the kids better off going back than being raise by out of touch whack-jobs.
Take a lion, feed him nothing but veggies and see what happens.
I have twin daughters, adn we go through milk and dairy product like we own stock in borden.
