You think we have the luxury to wait until after ‘08?

Let me just say this:

  1. No, but securing the Mexican border and stopping Islamic immigration is even more critical.
  2. We'll have to wait on both issues whether we like it or not.

"If they dare attack us, Allah will grill the bellies of the infidels in hell just like when they attacked Iraq and lost!"

I expect to see them do something to trigger events before then. If they can claim another influence over our elections...

Congress controls the funds and they’re the only ones who can declare war. We know where Pelosi and Reid are on this. The decision not to widen the war when America was behind it will go down in history as a watershed moment. The sad thing is that Iran has probably been funding the IEDs that have been shredding our troops by the tens of thousands. We might have been able to actually reduce the casualty rate in this war by laying waste to Iran then.

You’re right, I agree. My point, I think Iran will overplay their position & the Bush administration will go out with a bang. We didn’t have a DoW when we tried to take out Gadaffi.

We’ll see. I think Iran will watch our 2008 elections carefully.

"He added Iran’s army with an eight year experience of war and modern tactics.

A CHILD OF THE REVOLUTION TAKES OVER.

Ahmadinejad's Demons

http://www.tnr.com/doc.mhtml?i=20060424&s=kuntzel042406

During the Iran-Iraq War, the Ayatollah Khomeini imported 500,000 small plastic keys from Taiwan. The trinkets were meant to be inspirational. After Iraq invaded in September 1980, it had quickly become clear that Iran's forces were no match for Saddam Hussein's professional, well-armed military. To compensate for their disadvantage, Khomeini sent Iranian children, some as young as twelve years old, to the front lines. There, they marched in formation across minefields toward the enemy, clearing a path with their bodies. Before every mission, one of the Taiwanese keys would be hung around each child's neck. It was supposed to open the gates to paradise for them.

Read the rest of the article for the cultural mindset that applauds these tactics.

I think it’s to prove to ourselves that we’re not like our enemies, maybe.

It took not one but two nuclear bombs to convince Japan that we wanted to win. What will it take to convince these animals?

Or maybe I should ask, do we want to win this war?

A W88 screaming (technically, doing the speed of heat) in from space is a lot harder to hit - if you are not the US Space Command.

If, on the other hand, you *are* the Space Command, you can - and have - smacked down ICBMs.

Iran, it ain’t the US Space Command - not even *close*.

Soon, the Iranian leader will go on TV and say four words in Farsi:

“What the F#$% happened?”

Ta Dah!

My point exactly - do you care to try for the points by listing the min and max yield of a W-88 Thermonuclear device?
