Election 2008: Edwards (D) 47% Giuliani (R) 45%
Rasmussen Reports ^ | May 16, 2007 | Scott Rasmussen

Posted on 05/16/2007 8:31:28 AM PDT by Kuksool

In a 2008 general election match-up, former North Carolina Senator John Edwards (D) leads former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani by only two points, 47% to 45% (see crosstabs).

Giuliani has closed the gap over the past month. In April, Edwards had an eight-point advantage over the man known as “America’s Mayor.” Edwards may have been benefiting at that time from sympathetic attention evoked by his wife's recurring breast cancer. Prior to that April survey, Giuliani had been ahead of Edwards by at least a point or two in Rasmussen Reports election surveys.

The current survey also shows Edwards leading Arizona Senator John McCain (R) 48% to 41%. That’s little changed from our March survey when Edwards enjoyed a nine-point advantage over McCain. We did not poll an Edwards-McCain match-up in April.

The difference between Edwards and Giuliani is that Edwards is a good husband unlike Rudy with his ex-wives.

Rudy isn’t going to get the nomination so the question is moot.

I’d be very surprised if our troops would care much about Rudy’s marriages.

Edwards would be tough because he’d almost certainly take NC and would probably take VA as well.

Rassmussen is laughable.

I am no fan of Rudy, but a “feathery prince” like edwards beating RG has about as strong a chance as a flea fart in a hurricane!

Well, if that an accurate depiction of things, the numbers should look like this if Fred runs:

Pink Poney: 38%

Fred Thompson: 57%

These polls over a year and half out are so meaningless it is mind boggling....regardless of who these silly polls says is winning....regarding a fake race that isn’t happening...

They wouldn't even re-elect him as senator, that's why he dropped out...........

They’re ex-wives for a reason. Usually it means that you didn’t get along, hence the divorce.

I don’t understand FReepers.

How anyone could be rooting for the silk pony with his divisive “Two Americas” speech (the one where you can walk in heated luxury to your own gym vs. the one the rest of us live in where you have to find money in the budget to pay for a gym) is just mind boggling.

Breck girl is not getting the Rat nomination. Hitlery and her Arkancide friends will have something to say about that, so this poll is a moot point.

Rudy may or may not get the Republican one. If he does, we need to rally behind him. Nothing is worse than getting a Rat in the White House. Even someone many FReepers consider a RINO. At least Guiliani won’t give into the ROPers. Can the same be said of Breck girl? I think not.

It boggles the mind that either of these assclowns are actually being taken seriously for the job of POTUS.

There are FReepers and then there are FReepers.

In between there are a bunch of agenda driven, single issue cry babies.

If their “perfect man” does not get the nomination they’ll sit out the election and then cry about the evil the other side is doing.

Me? I’ll pull for the man in the primaries but the party in the election.

No one here is.

How anyone here could be rooting for that lisping leftist thug from NYC is the real mystery.
