Michael Moore wants to investigate Treasury Dept (Unbelievable!)
Yahoo! News ^ | May 16, 2007

Maverick filmmaker Michael Moore took the first step on Wednesday in launching his own probe into the U.S. government's investigation of him for making an unauthorized trip to Cuba to film scenes for his latest movie "SiCKO."

Moore's attorney David Boies sent the U.S. Treasury Department a Freedom of Information Act request for all documents in its possession regarding its civil investigation of Moore which was launched by the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control.

The Office of Foreign Assets Control told Moore earlier this month that it was conducting a civil investigation to see if he violated the U.S. trade embargo restricting travel to Cuba. The office said Moore did not apply for the license required for Americans visiting Cuba.

Moore took a group of 9/11 survivors to Cuba to see if their ailments could be helped under the Cuba medical system.

His film about the weaknesses of the American health care system opens at the Cannes Film Festival this week.

Isn’t it about time MM received a visit from the IRS>>>>>?

Right after the 2004 election he showed up on either Leno or Letterman in a suit with a shave and a hair cut. He commented that he wanted to look good for his IRS audit.

Even FOIA doesn’t give a person the right to see files of an on-going investigation...especially if the person making the request is the one being investigated!

Normally, it takes a long time for family members to visit other family members in Cuba. Michael Moore didn’t have to go through that process. I know a family with family in Cuba and every year since the late 70’s, the mother has had to endure a whole lot of paper work in order to visit her mother, sibs, relatives in Cuba. And she/they have endured that process for decades. So Michael Moore is special. He got around it all and will continue to do so.

How and why anyone thinks this guy is for real amazes me. The MSM has given him a place to voice his nonsense and the liberals are too stupid to question his so called facts. It shouldn’t surprise me given the Speaker of the House met with terrorist regimes and is still the Speaker of the House.

Only the rank and file Americans need to follow the rules. Michael Moore got to Cuba instantly when people who have family there have to jump through hoops every couple of years to get the ok to visit their family.

"Moore took a group of 9/11 survivors to Cuba to see if their ailments could be helped under the Cuba medical system."

Any word on if these people were actually helped (cured) in Cuba? I realize that Moore would never be honest about it, but perhaps some of those who went are coming forward and speaking about it. Maybe Moore had them sign a nondisclosure agreement?

One thing we know for sure about Cuba's health care system is that they can't cure Moore's obvious morbid obesity.

I'm not holding my breath for an answer. You know Moore covered his own a$$, and that's no small job. Plus - that would require an honesty Moore's not capable of. And no doubt Moore and his band of willing 9-11 survivors were treated to the health care system only available to the Cuban commie elite. I'm sure it had the finest of everything we have to offer, but with the added pampering that commie leaders everywhere demand for themselves.

I'd like to ask Mr. Moore how many Cubans died from lack of healthcare or poor care during the time of his visit (propaganda tour)?

No doubt, resources were (mis)appropriated from the people's healthcare (what little is truly available to the regular citizens) and sent to the elites health facility to plump it up and make it seem abundant, Potemkin-style, so Moore could proclaim to the world how great it is and receive adulation and props at Cannes.

Someone should send this jerk an unlimited supply of deep-fried cheeseburgers.

LOL, I would have thought he already had that covered.
