Those of us who are against what Bush is doing wrt Illegal Immigration have been praying as well. You think we don't pray?
But we weren't allowed to pray for God to give our President the wisdom to discern the difference between compassion and the rule of law. What mortal sin is being commited by praying that our President has a change of heart?
These threads turned into adoration posts, and for the most part we respected their corner of the forum.
The group left to go over at Wide Awakes and no doubt there will be a prayer thread, and they will be just fine.
What we witnessed with these parting low blows to FR was scripted by design, from so-called good christians, who want to bring down OUR forum and bring others into theirs.. What a disappointment.

I pray for President Bush every day and I pray that our Heavenly Father will continue to guide him and sustain him as he gets through the trying days that would otherwise deplete his and the First Lady’s energy.
Truly they must walk with the Lord for he grants them the courage to guide our country.

Thank you for the vigilance in removing the vileness of posts that are irreverent and out of order. It’s one of the reasons I have enjoyed being a part of Free Republic.
Shunning always works. Vile posts can and are erased.

I am leaving this forum, but others are left to do it, and will carry the load of obedience to pray for our President.
I will be doing it elsewhere, but it will always be a prayer for wisdom in difficult decisions, and never an 'adoration post.' That is a lie.
btw, don't think I've quit the fight. I'm sure the rude, nasty ones are high fiving at their 'victory,' but it is Pyrrhic at best. They have not beaten me, as planned. I have just moved elsewhere to fight along side other like-minded, thoughtful conservative patriots to do what is right for this country and for conservativism.
I prefer not to fight along side those who have joined the left in trying to destroy one of the most Godly Presidents we have ever had.

The only "obedience" I owe is to my God and most of the time, my Pope. The word "obedience" is in my mind, reserved for those who are either in the clergy, OR beholding to blind obedience to "big brother"..
It is President Bush, who should carry out the "will" of the American people, who trusted in him and elected him. No one here need "repent" for how they feel considering the severity of the problem we are faced with.
I'm praying he will open his mind. It's obviously NOT your prayer, but you have no right to stifle ours.

I have prayed often here for the things you desire (I have the same political view as you do on immigration). You obviously haven't read them.
Each of us as a believer in Jesus Christ must be obedient to His leading and to what Scripture commands that we do, and praying for those in authority over us is one of those commands.
btw, this thread was started by me, and I said it was going to be the last I posted. That is the truth. Responding to posts on this thread is not inappropriate, nor can it be considered a 'long good-bye.'
I just didn't want to leave your false attack on this precious thread unchallenged. Remember that you ARE on the Pray for President Bush thread, posting against its existence and purpose, and maligning those who faithfully pray here.

You are free to state your displeasure over the actions of the President on numerous other threads. You could even start your own prayer thread and pray for whatever it is you feel you need to for the President.
