I am really getting sick of the "Whiny Bitch" wing of the GOP blaming its conservative base for losing control of both houses and now undermining the party further by not continuing to fund or vote for a more slow descent into socialism. This shows a complete lack of integrity on their part.
I for one refuse to vote for a Democrat, even when they call themselves a Republican, no especially when they call themselves a Republican. In fact, I would vote for a Democrat before I would a RINO because they at least have the integrity to admit to what they are. I for damned sure refuse to give them any campaign contributions when they have demonstrated that they can't manage the tax dollars they collect in the trillions.
Ronald Reagan, who began as a Democrat, once said he didn't leave the Democrat party, it left him. Me withholding my votes and financial support for the Republican Party isn't because I have changed political philosophy or party affiliation. I am withholding my votes and supports because the Republican Party has morphed into the Democrat Party.
The Whiny Bitch wing will say that there is no alternative and that not voting means that the Democrat Party (the old one that has now morphed into the Socialist Party) will prevail. The Democrat Party, or at least its principles, is prevailing anyway. One only need look at the actual status of Secure borders, immigration reform, government spending, balance of trade, energy self-sufficiency, whacko environmentalism, and voter fraud to see this.
If the GOP doesn't right itself will fade to irrelevance and will be replaced by a conservative party. When either of these two options happen I will again break out the check book and resume voting. Until then I will refrain.
Well if it takes eight years of Hillary to push the American people to action it will have been worth it. I am not interested in keeping score on elections, but I am interested in the long term good of the country.
Right now, the agenda that’s being advanced is one that imports millions of illegal immigrants, millions of proto-islamic terrorists, outsources jobs, runs up billions of dollars of federal debt, reduces the quality of education yearly, and allows gays to advance a radical anti-family/anti-child agenda through the public schools.
And this is after 8 years of Republican rule. For your reasoning to be correct, this is where the country would have to be (or at least reasonably close to it).
I call BS. We’re clearly not as conservative a country as we were when Reagan was nominated. However if the GOP was to nominate Hunter and give him the money and platform to address the nation, he’d win a victory as big as Reagan’s and for the same reasons.
Supporting liberal Republicans will ensure a Hillary victory. Conservatives are the type of people who don't compromise long-standing beliefs for the sake of conveniency and guest-passes at some fundraiser.

Depending on the political climate, the voters can come to the conclusion to tell conservatives to take a hike. It’s not impossible, it has happened before and will happen again.
Plenty of people don’t care much about taxes. Plenty of people reject what you call traditional values. There are even plenty of people who are against a strong defense.
If FR crafted a policy platform, it would strongly appeal to as many people as one crafted by DU. That is to say, not many people.

Pure horse droppings. If the right person comes along and promotes a conservative message, he/she will be supported. People just haven't heard honest conservatism in a long time, that's all.
If the folks at FR crafted a platform, for example, I doubt it would appeal to more people than if the folks at DU crafted a platform.
So explain FR's popularity then, with members and lurkers from all over the world.
Pretending that the nation is more conservative (or more liberal) than it really is strikes me as a primary error political addicts, one issue fetishists, and related goofballs make.
Now you're just being condescending. Newsflash. There is no true middle ground in politics. It's all about drawing a line and forcing people to make their own decisions. That's why the Stupid Party has been losing, they don't know how to sell conservatism.

I think both parties are off the reservation when it comes to the immigration issue. And i agree with you. But I also don’t think a lot of issues that light he fire of the garden variety Freeper just aren’t that important to a majority of the electorate.
As for Duncan, he can’t even get Reagen-like numbers in a GOP primary, let alone a national election. He hasn’t broken from that 2nd tier of candidates, and he won’t.
That’s not to say he isn’t a good guy.

I told them (the RNC phone solicitors) I started givin my money to the NRA because the Republicans should be able to raise plenty of money from those who want open borders.
The Republicans leaders should just start their own party and call it the RINO Party. And they can not be Elephants because Pro Lifers, NRA members, and people who support God in Public view have called themselves Elephants for thirty years or better. Conservatives are Elephants. Rudy wants to change the Party, let him start the RINO Party. Mitt is from Massachusetts, enough said. If he wants to flip flop, let him start the RINO Party. McCain doesn't want to fund the law that Hunter sponsored to build 800 plus mile of fence, but he wants to support amnesty. Let them all go start the RINO Party.
We already have a law that says we can build a fence from California to Texas. Start building it and use the laws we have on the books now and this is no longer an issue. If you want the illegals gone, just tell me and I will pass the word to my Redneck friends. We will go to where the Mehicans work, tell them we need ten workers. Load them up in the back of the pickup. Then drive them to ICE, the border, White House and the steps of Congress. I saw a fellow do that on a video (drove them to ICE). Had me in stitches. If ICE would have been ready, it would have worked too.
I'll tell you what, I am a hard core Elephant. Been like that since the 80's. I call my self Old School Conservative. And I will tell you that this is the biggest bunch of wussies this Party has ever had as leaders. I am not talking as President. I think we have a couple good candidates (like Duncan Hunter and that guy from the 52nd district of California and he served with the 75th Rangers in Vietnam and has a son in Iraq). But I am talking about the wussies who are leading the RNC and the so called leaders of the House and Senate. I honestly think they have no clue or backbone.
The only thing that could save the Republicans is if Demorats continue to be stupider then the Republicans. Stupidity is in the Demoratic DNA, so I think the Republicans are safe. I am telling you, the Republicans are staring down the barrel of a shotgun and they still don't recognize the threat. How many of the illegal immigrants do you think will vote Republican? How many? Who cares right? The leaders of the Republican Party don't. Now, how close are the elections right now?
OK around 80% of the Cubans who come to this country do vote Republican. That is because they lived under a Commie regime and want Capitalism in a bad way. So, let all the Cubans in. Matter of fact we will trade the people for a few of our top notch Demorats like Nancy Peloser or Scary Reid. But I ask you how many Mehicans are going to vote Republican? The worst is, they come from a socialist kind of State and they will come here and vote for Demorats and tilt the balance to the Socialist Demorats. I don't think they know any better yet. They are not like Cubans.
So I submit that the Republicans who vote for Amnesty, vote to pull the trigger of the very shotgun that is held to their head.
Do I just stand by and watch? What can I really do? I already stopped sending my money to them. Should I not vote for them too? Then the commies will win. Who is left to stand for Capitalism, strong Military and Intel, the unborn baby, my 2nd Amendment, and a prayer in school? Who? the RINO and the Demorat? Good luck with that.
The 2nd worst is, I want to pick up a weapon and stand a post, but my post may be leaving me.
Sure - come up the middle and make the two extremes look pretty foolish.
