Point taken but you seem to paint with a broad-brush. A good many of us do not hold these people up for admiration and will not watch their movies or shows. I often wonder if popular culture is being driven by TV or if TV is driven by popular culture.

OK, finally this idiot saga becomes important to me. Something about the rule of law and equality under the law is now in play. I don't mind that she is wealthy, has the ability to live in a manner I cannot afford, or that she inhabits a social class I can never aspire to. She can pay for it. However, now she is part of a different legal caste and that does bother me. This new American aristocracy is as dangerous as the British nobility our founding fathers rejected. Their pronouncements and authority on political, social and environmental issues about which they have no particular competence are irritating enough but this instance gives proof to the common impression that they are well above the law.
