Spokesman for President Bush Posts on Free Republic About Immigration Bill
Thursday, June 14, 2007 | Kristinn

Posted on 06/14/2007 11:16:52 AM PDT by kristinn

A spokeman for the Bush administration sent an e-mail to Jim Robinson and myself confirming the authenticity of a post on Free Republic this afternoon regarding the immigration bill currently before the Senate as having been posted on behalf of the White House.

The spokesman, Nicholas Thompson, works for the White House Office of Strategic Initiatives. The Politico reported yesterday that Thompson and Kerrie Rushton, associate directors in the Office of Strategic Initiatives who work under Karl Rove, would be engaging the blogosphere on the immigration bill.

Thompson's post is on the thread titled Penalty Mitigation in the Immigration Reform Bill, a vanity posted by philman_36. Thompson posted at comment #53.

Thompson's e-mail to Free Republic included a brief introduction and the text of his posted comment:

Hi,

I just wanted to let you know that I just posted a response to the post "Penalty Mitigation in the Immigration Reform Bill."

The White House appreciates the opportunity to respond on Free Republic.

Response:
I would like to point out that the Secretary is authorized to reduce or mitigate penalities against employers who in good faith are trying to comply with the law. Certainly, we understand that not all employers knowingly hire illegal immigrants; this will remain the case, especially before the bill’s new secure documentation requirements are fully phased in. We do not seek to wrongly penalize honest employers who unknowingly hire illegal immigrants, therefore we reserve the right to reduce or mitigate their penalties if the employer can show good faith compliance in following the law.

For those employers who do knowingly hire illegal immigrants, please know that we intend to penalize these employers strongly, and the Administration has already stepped up these penalties in the last couple of years. For example, a 2005 program, “Operation Rollback,” assessed $15,000,000 in civil fines to employers, an amount greater than the sum of administrative fines collected in the previous eight years and was the largest worksite enforcement penalty in US history. In the first quarter of FY07, criminal and civil forfeitures have totaled $26,700,000 for employers.

As a reminder of what’s in the bill, fines for hiring an illegal worker are $5,000 maximum per illegal worker for the first offense, $10,000 maximum per illegal worker for the second, $25,000 maximum per illegal worker for the third , and $75,000 maximum per illegal worker for the fourth. In addition, the bill increases the maximum criminal penalty for a pattern or practice of unlawful hiring twenty-five-fold, from $3,000 to $75,000, and would impose a prison term of up to six months. This represents a significant increase in fines for employers who knowingly hire illegal immigrants.

Jackson and Sharpton only step in when a white person has done something to a black person, never the reverse.

They have lost all credibility.

I did not keep up with the Duke case closely.

"Second, your being an American should come into play here, don’t you think?"

It does, and American who believes in limited government, now this government has just added another regulation for me and if I don't follow through I get fined.

In a year or two their will be just a few more things I have to do to make sure I follow all the regulations required to satisfy these tiny little things that you are trying to tell me is my duty as an American. 10 years from now I will probably be responsible for doing DNA scans and reporting anyone whose bioscan doesn't match up. And if you think such is far fetched look at how any new regulation on business started, just a little program that will really help people Mr. business owner and its your duty as an American to do your part. Now look at the revenue leeching BS the government business regulations have turned into:

Withholding taxes: (Biggest farce ever laid on the American Public, makes tax payers unaware how much they actually lose to Uncle Sam and the Congress critters vote buying scheme)

Unemployment Insurance: (The government takes a Hard working guys money and holds it for him till he is out of work then makes him jump through 60 kinds of hoops before He gets a dime back. If a guy Never draws it then he gets nothing back)

Social Security: (two words: Ponzi Scheme)

The Safety Regulatory agencies on business (noble Idea, biggest crock of crap ever, our local city workers have to have 3 guys to dig one hole for a sewer line, one operating the backhoe one watching the hole to make sure he don't strike something dangerous, and one watching behind the backhoe so someone doesn't run into him. 3 guys doing the work of one based on supposed safety concerns.)

Workman's compensation: (I love this one: the poor working guy must pay into this crap program, then when he gets hurt bad the first thing he has to do is hire a lawyer and got before this agency and in essence sue to get his money, then if he does get any his lawyer usually get a third. Wow I wonder who wrote those regulations? Do you think any Injury lawyers had input?)

And there is much more crap like that that all businesses in the US have to contend with wasting valuable man hours making sure all the paperwork and regulations are met. And all of them started out as just little bitty things that were presented to businesses as just a few extra things they need to be responsible for and it will really help and you will be a better American. blah Blah blah.

The bottom line is of course it helped, it helped the US Government become the biggest employer in the USA!

Now go ahead, tell me the story again about how its my duty and all. But first I would suggest drinking some more of that kool-aide.

It is all a big smoke screen. A few public arrests for publicity reasons, while cities like Herndon, VA build publicly financed illegal alien day-labor centers, and that town in N.Y. agrees to stop asking people about their immigration status and pays their attorney fees to boot.

Deaf ears, this administration needs to do what's right. Admit the mistake, secure the borders and talk about the bill when the wall is up.

I will no longer support the presidents policies except the WOT, enough is enough.

PLEASE--ONE AND ALL--GET

THE GATHERING STORM: UNDERSTANDING PROPHECY IN CRITICAL TIMES

Mal Couch, General Editor various authors

The first chapter is: "GLOBALISM AND THE NEW WORLD ORDER"

Therein Kerby Anderson outlines well the sweep and goals of THE NEW WORLD ORDER.

He notes most chillingly how three institutions are under [Qx: WHOLESALE RUTHLESS] attack by the NWO (pp15-25):

1. THE FAMILY
2. THE CHRISTIAN CHURCH
3. NATIONAL GOVERNMENT--NATIONS--SOVEREIGN NATIONHOOD (p22)

Because each of these institutions are in the way, blocking the NWO.

He cites: Ashley Montagu (p22) "speaking to a group of educators declared that, 'The American family structure produces mentally ill children.'6 From his perspective, the traditional family that teaches things as loyalty to God and to country is not producing children mentally fit for the global world of the twenty-first century.

(p23) "Not only do globalists oppose the traditional family, [Shrillery's push for younger and younger compulsary kindgergarten should leap immediately to mind--Qx] but they also believe that the Christian church and a sense of national identity are contrary to their vision."

"Globalists feel that the Christian church threatens their global program because of its belief in the authority of the Bible. Most other religious systems (as well as liberal Christianity) pose little threat. But Christians who believe in God, in sin, in salvation through faith in Jesus Christ alone, stand in the way of the globalist vision for a one-world government and a one world religion."

"Paul Brandwein even went so far as to say that, 'Any child who believes in God is mentally ill.'7 Belief in a personal God to which we owe allegiance and obedience cannot remain if globalists are to achieve their ultimate vision. (p23)

"National governments also threaten globalism. If the goal is to unite all peoples under one international banner [predicted in several places in the New Testament--Qx], any nationalism or patriotism blocks the progress of that vision. Globalist and architect Buckminister Fuller once said that, "Nationalism is the blood clot in the world's circulatory system.'8 (p23)

"Dr Pierce of Harvard University speaking to educators in Denver, Colorado, said, 'Every child in America who enters schools at the age of five is mentally ill, because he comes to school with allediance toward our elected officials, toward our founding fathers, toward our institutions, toward the preservation of this form of government.'9 Their solution, therefore, is to purge these nationalistic beliefs from school children so they will come to embrace the goals of globalism." (p24)

"All over the country programs on Global Education, Global History, and Global Citizenship are springing up. Children are being indoctrinated into a global way of thinking. Frequently these programs masquerade as drug awareness programs, civics programs or environmnetal programs. But their goal is just the same: to break down a child's allediance to family, church and country, and to replace this allegiance with the globalists' vision for a one-world government, a wone-world economic system, and a one-world religion. These then are the three institutions the globalists believe must be modified or destroyed if they are to achieve their globalist vision. . . ."

GOD HAVE MERCY ON US AND GIVE US WISDOM, COURAGE, DILIGENCE AND PROTECTION IN THE COMING MONTHS AND YEARS of THE GATHERING STORM.

Please get the book and read it. At least copy and paste the above and email it to all who might be moved by it.

CERTAINLY PRAY AND WORK FOR YOUR COUNTRY, FR, THE ROBINSONS, YOUR FAMILY, YOUR GOD as never before.

My brother went with some business associates down to Mexico this past week. They were on a business trip in Arizona, and they wanted to be able to say they had been to Mexico. On their way back, they went through the border with minimal trouble. About thirty minutes to an hour later, they were stopped at a another check-point, and they had to reproduce their identification proving they are Americans. I see this happen regularly, and I see Border Patrol seize folks and send them back to Mexico via the Big Bus(es). So my question is what more do you want them to do?

Your brother & his associates crossed through a legal checkpoint. That's the whole point of the FENCE - if everyone did cross through a legal checkpoint, a large part of the problem would be solved.

Fence FIRST. Everything else later.

We won’t have to worry about illegals. They will all be legal once this is signed. No fines No penalties.

&&
Exactly! And what happens if say only 2 million of the 12M “come out of the shadows” and pay the fine? Well, we can’t just “round up” 10M people is the next line we would here.

It truly pains me to the point of tears to see the president that I have supported so much bring us to this sorry state.

good article. But it’s hardly “us” who are to blame....it’s Bush and his ilk who put their own greedy, selfish, NAU agenda before and above American sovereignty and American citizens.
