I had a chance to interview Bob Bennett today while in Boston. He had some interesting things to say about Romney and those Senators who "support" him:

Now, Bennett is a Utah Mormon and he was at a Mitt fundraiser when he said this but, pretty cool stuff! We shall see!

From what is going on in the Senate right now with immigration, most Senators have gone off their political rockers.

I still have questions about why Mitt appointed some loud mouth gay activists in his governors administration. It didn’t sound like they were lowly positions.

The current senate is delusional.

A Senator’s opinion at this point ain’t worth a cup of warm spit.

Then there’s that pesky 2nd amendment thing that Mitt waffles on...

I truly love Mitt Romney but, I just don’t think he’ll be able to escape the ‘branding’ the left has in store for him. I don’t want to see an entire campaign spent defending oneself.

(Been there, done that with Blackwell. Those bastards labeled him an angry black man and it was over.)

Is Wallace Bennett his own man, or does he take orders from Orrin G. Hatch?

I’d like to see Fred take the whole thing, but if Mitt’s the GOP nominee, I’ll vote for him.

He might win the nomination, but he has very little chance of winning the general election agains the likes of Mrs. Clinton and/or Barak Osama bin Laden.

Also Sen. Jim Demint SC.

There are quite a few other senators and reps that endorse him. I don't have a comprehensive list and the wiki list is way out of date. My favorite endorsement is Sheriff Joe Arpaio. (Anyone got a full list out there?) But you can see video clips on YouTube posted by GovMitt Romney of many of them.

A majority of senators might have wanted Howard Baker in 1980, they certainly weren’t thrilled with Reagan at the time.

Is Wallace Bennett his own man, or does he take orders from Orrin G. Hatch? Gordon B. Hinckley?

There fixed it.

Are these the same Senators who are all for amnesty?

They have a big surprise coming, in more ways than one.

Sorry unless its an action or comedy video I read.

I do look at endorsement lists, because it is a clue to who a person really is.

Senators are simply counting the money.

Romney has money, money will win elections.

DeMint Working Hard To Sell Romney To Conservatives; Other Romney Updates

By Eric Kleefeld | bio

As we reported earlier today, South Carolina Senator Jim DeMint has endorsed Mitt Romney, and DeMint is already emerging as a key defender of Romney to social conservatives who are having doubts about him. Case in point: A new interview that DeMint has just given to the National Review Byron York.

In the interview DeMint, a hero to social conservatives, addresses one of Romney's most pressing problems — his change of heart on abortion — and makes the rather creative case that Romney's shift on the issue should make him more attractive to conservatives, not less. From the interview:

"I think he came by his previous position honestly," DeMint says — continuing through his study of genetic research and the question of when life begins. "He feels passionately that the value of human life begins at conception," DeMint says. "The idea that he might have changed his mind is very appealing to me, because we're not going to win that debate unless people change their minds and think it through."

Emphasis added. It's an interesting argument — a classic effort to turn a negative (Romney's apparent flip-flopping) into a positive (proof that he can change the minds of others, too). But will social conservatives buy it?

Update: In other key Romney news, former Massachusetts Governor William Weld is backing Romney rather than his friend Rudy Giuliani.

Meanwhile, the Romney camp reported today that their fundraising marathon yesterday netted them $6.5 million

De Mint endorsed him before Romney's stellar performance in the money primary.

Americans are willing to put their money where their mouth is. The money is coming from the grassroots.
