I read where Taser has a new purse size taser gun - I wouldn’t mind having one of those!

Mississippi all weapons immediately. No background check on long guns.

Here in Nevada, I can pay cash for a Russian anti-aircraft gun at 'Bazookas-R-Us' and haul it away on a trailer without a background check.

Make mine a ZPU- 4 :-)

I use 2 3/4” shells, somehow that load seems adequate inside a residence

I keep a 16 guage with number 2 buck for home defense. That’s plenty in my opinion. Of course I also got some pistols here and there. But the 16 ga is the main gun.

If I might ask... how do you hold the pistol-grip equipped shotgun when you shoot? With the grip about hip-level (and OUTSIDE the hip, obviously)?

I think I remember holding it a little higher than that, but I'm a tall guy with long arms, so things work differently for me.

I would suggest taking the thing out with a couple boxes of shells and play around with it to see what works best for you. Comfortable shooting is extremely subjective.

I’m not a weapons expert by any stretch. But it seems that the barrel-length tradeoff is magazine capacity vs. maneuverability inside a building.

Do you recommend the pistol grip? I thought about maybe getting another mossie equipped like you show... how hard would that be for a non-hardcore “user” like myself to handle and shoot?

Mine is a Mossberg police 6 shooter with sling

it comes with a pistol grip, but I don't recommend using the pistol grip with hot loads as you will hurt your wrist.

The police were probably notified when the mother was leaving the bank. They could have been on the scene before she even got home.

If I was president, I would charge the police with being accomplices to a murder because of their slow response.

Instead, the police are now an arm of the ACLU and are best for persecuting citizens who engage in self-defense.

Sorry, it may be the two beers, but I just can not respect them anymore.

Get the shotgun first and the pistol second.

Then work on eliminating the enemies of the constitution as elected lawwmakers. By elimination, I mean using only lawful means.

I modified my five and one Mosberg 500 to shoot the little Aguila minishells. It will now hold ten rounds. The next project will be to modify the seven and one to hold about fourteen rounds. It’s pretty simple to do. Just lengthen the tang on the elevator. You might have to put a slight downward angle on the end.

Thanks for the advice! A lighter load (easier on the wrist) and more shots/magazine to boot!

I had a look at the minishell pages on the Aguila website. The potential for jamming even the modified Mossberg is a concern to me; it might be better for me to go with the Winchester Defender 1300 (18"), since Aguila's testing indicates it works well out of the box with the 1 3/4 shells... you think?

I took the Mossberg to an IDPA match and had a fourteen year old girl shoot it. We took videos but the guy using the camera had some problems. Also, the girl didn’t have the strength to yank back the pump so the shells could eject. That was the only problem she had with the modified tang. This tang also doesn’t have the recommended downward end angle I mentioned and there was still no problem of chambering.
I still use the regular OOBuck for defense. The Aguilas are only a fun match load if I ever used it as such. The IDPA demonstration was only to see if it worked under less than expert hands.

Don’t use the Aguila field grade shot in the Mossberg. The shells don’t eject because the rims blow out and you have a failure to extract. Only use the combination buck and shot.

Connecticut Ping!

Sorry for the delay in getting this up...I usually tend to avoid being anywhere near the Internet from Friday afternoons to Monday mornings...I spend enough time in front of a computer at work during the week as it is!

Yep, for any long gun. Unless you have a pistol permit. Then, you can walk out the door with it the same day.

I was in the local gun shop a few years ago and saw one of these pistol grip shotguns on the consignment rack. It looked brand new! The gunsmith told me it had only been fired once. The owner didn't pay much attention to his grip and when he set off the first round the barrel swung up and broke his nose. As soon as he was released from the hospital he put the gun up for sale.
