Hillary Clinton's SUPPRESSED Thesis finally on line in its entirety
gopublius.com ^ | May 2, 1969 | Hillary Clinton

Posted on 08/01/2007 11:30:59 AM PDT by AndrewWalden

A PDF copy of Hillary Rodham’s senior thesis at Wellesley arrived in our inbox this morning. it is titled:

“There is only one fight …” an analysis of the Alinsky Model

Although I have no ‘loving wife’ to thank for keeping the children away while I wrote, I do have many friends and teachers who have contributed to the process of thesis-writing.

We have not had a chance to review and will do so today. Regardless, we wanted to post this as soon as possible to share with everyone. Hillary is running for President and it is important to know what she really believes. This document was hidden from public view during her husband’s presidency -= an apparent favor to the Clintons fromt he President of the university - and interest in it fell when the Clintons left office. Now with Hillary a top Democratic candidate for President the importance of this document has frothed to the surface again....

What is significant is what Hillary says or opines, not the quotes she takes from Alinsky. I don't see what the fuss is about. As I said, her thesis will be fawned over by the MSM who will portray her as an articulate, intellectual with a surprising grasp of American social movements and political philosophy at such an early age.

I think the GOP would be making a mistake making this into some sort of cause celebre imputing Alinksi's views as Hillary's. George Allen's campaign tried something similar by taking excerpts out of Webb's novels to portray him as some sort of pervert. It doesn't work and just burnishes the image of the person you are attacking.

BTW: You ‘out’ yourself when you start a post with “Have you read it?”

I don't understand the "out" part. Care to elaborate? I just found your comments to lack specificity in terms of how this thesis will hurt Hillary. I read all of it and could not come up with anything specific in that regard, save the comparison I mentioned. And I tried very hard to find a hook to hang her on. Hillary's election would be a disaster for this country no matter what is in her thesis.

Most thesis’s are held by the school, and are often public domain. At least most of the ones I dealt with at Iowa State were.

Now that I have her thesis on my desk top it feels somehow ‘diseased’.

My comment wasw a sarcastic reference to the Dan Rather fiasco over a fake National guard document exposed by Buckhead.

My deepest apologies. Where I work I routinely have to deal with materials submitted in all sorts of formats that are not friendly to real printing presses. I was guilty of responding to you the way I think regarding them.

Your initial response was not unreasonable, so no offense taken.

I guess all those “religious” people Hillary is trying to con (oops, I mean convince to vote for her) are not going to be pleased with the thesis.

I’m still waiting for one of her cohorts to squeal on her about the death of Vince Foster, the stolen FBI documents, and the missing Rose law firm documents.

Can they be silent forever?

As silent as the grave...

You wrote: “What is significant is what Hillary says or opines, not the quotes she takes from Alinsky.”

In fact the two are linked seamlessly as anyone can see when reading this document. That’s why the WaPo cals it an “Ideological Touchstone”. Hillary clearly is using Alinsky’s experience, tactics, and thought as the intellecutual point of departure from which she forms her own life plan.

But I am sure that obfuscating this is an important part of the line of defense which will be taken by Hillary’s backers — to the extent that they are actually confronted with this. 5500 page views on Free Republic isn’t quite the same as an article in NYT WSJ WaPo or a feature on FOX or CBS.

As for the GOP, what they do is up to them. It is a long way to Election Day. For all I know, the Dems will nominate Obama who is also an Alinsky acolyte. (see link:)

Great read:
“For Clinton and Obama a common ideological touchstone”

“The ideas may be shocking, but academic prose makes everything it touches leaden and dull.”

- You’re probably right, unless some enterprising Freeper can pinpoint a number of instances of plagiarism in the thesis. Then, look out prime time coverage!

You must bear in mind that Alinsky is more than just someone whose writings she read from books. Alinsky knew her personally and was a mentor to her! The mere fact that she chose Alinsky as the topic for her thesis is significant in itself!

Obama couldn’t have been an Alinsky acolyte in the same sense that Hitlary was. That’s because Alinsky died in 1972 when Obama was just a child. On the other hand, as I pointed out, Hitlary knew Alinsky personally as an adolescent and young adult.

...then, Hillary will pretend to be outraged at the release of the doc

She expressed mock outrage at the release of this staged photo op as well.

Not true. The DNC and the Media colluded to hold the Foley emails until late in the election cycle and the nature of the “news” reports about those emails and Republican “foreknowledge” that they did not act on while at the same time supressing the FACT that the DNC had MORE information EARLIER along with the press and did nothing for the aides “safety” either).

Thank you for posting this. It has been a long time coming and there must be a lot of reasons why Ms. Hiliary wanted it kept under wraps. Thank you!

“Why are we conservatives so happy to abandon our property ownership principles when it helps us “get” the other side?”

You are correct. Point taken. However if someone runs for President of the United States of America it should be understood that their life will be reviewed under a microscope, as it should be. But if she sued the website to win royalties for her work I believe she might have a case. I’d pay a royalty fee just for the chance to read a certified copy of her thesis. Intel costs sometimes.
