F.R. defamed as "Hate Site" by Fox 5 News! [FOX News' Bill O'Reilly started this B/S]
Fox 5 News ^ | 8/16/07 | crusher

Posted on 08/16/2007 7:56:17 PM PDT by crusher

I was listening to the news out of the corner of my ear when I heard FreeRepublic specifically mentioned as a "hate site" about fifteen minutes ago.

Ostensibly the long report was about the Klan using the web to recruit new wackos. Then the focus turned to Casa Maryland, and their director who claimed that calls for his murder had circulated on the internet by anti-immigrant bigots. It was then that the anchor identified FR by name as a hate site.

Only a drooling imbecile could have done that by accident.

Deliberate and malicious.

Fox5 News reporters take up where Bill O'Reilly left off.

Short people got no reason
Short people got no reason
Short people got no reason
To live

They got little hands
And little eyes
And they walk around
Tellin’ great big lies
They got little noses
And tiny little teeth
They wear platform shoes
On their nasty little feet

Well, I don’t want no short people
Don’t want no short people
Don’t want no short people
Round here

Short people are just the same
As you and I
(A fool such as I)
All men are brothers
Until the day they die
(It’s a wonderful world)

Short people got nobody
Short people got nobody
Short people got nobody
To love

They got little baby legs
And they stand so low
You got to pick ‘em up
Just to say hello
They got little cars
That got beep, beep, beep
They got little voices
Goin’ peep, peep, peep
They got grubby little fingers
And dirty little minds
They’re gonna get you every time
Well, I don’t want no short people
Don’t want no short people
Don’t want no short people
‘Round here

Thank you, Junior. As a middle school English teacher, I was ALWAYS more concerned by the emotion I perceived on the part of the “hater”, than the mere mention of the word. I always think of the saying, “Sticks and stones may break my bones.......”

...yes, immigration threads usually DO have some racism.

Uh. OK, I'll bite. What race?

Nationalities, even regional affiliations are not necessarily a "race". To my understanding, there are basically four "races", Caucasian, Negro, American Indian, and Oriental.

People from one country, unless they are the sum total and solely of one race, do not a race make, any more than North Dakotans are a 'race'.

I have seen no prejudices against American Indians, nor specifically against any other "race" here.

If the problem is with people who have entered our country illegally or overstayed their visas, I would wager disdain for those acts and actors extends regardless of race, creed, or nation of origin, after all, they have broken our laws.

Furthermore, despite a tinge of xenophobia, we have FReepers from all over the world. Why would they tolerate "hatred" aimed at a particular race?

Please do not fall victim to the leftist propaganda claiming that wanting our government to uphold our immigration laws is "racism". At worst it is nationalism, and I do not necessarily see that as a bad thing, although the OBL and hardcore globalists might.

This had to have been done deliberately and with malice by the reporter and Fox News.

I agree.

I always think of the saying, “Sticks and stones may break my bones.......”

If I ran the zoo, I'd have that saying recited in every classroom every morning, right after the Pledge of Allegiance. That saying is the anti-P.C.

Hate for who?

It isn't "racism" to demand our laws be upheld, regardless of whom is breaking them.

If most of the folks breaking them come from one nation or region, it still isn't "racism".

It is disdain for those breaking our laws, regardless of where they are from.

I don't care who has illegally invaded our borders, send them home, regardless of race, creed, or nation of origin, unless they have a legitimate claim to request sanctuary from an oppressive regime (they are defecting), and I think you will generally find that opinion to be the case here.

If you have a prolem with FR, why don’t you leave? Why make yourself and everyone around you miserable?

I don't have a problem with Free Republic.

I have noticed there are quite a few posters with a lot of hate to give lately.

It wasn't like that last year and I suspect it won't be like that next year.

Just my own wild-eyed, tinfoil hat thing, but this may be aimed not at FR, per se, so much as undermining support for Duncan Hunter or any other candidate FReepers might back. (Maybe we should start an 'I love Hillary' thread. /SARC)

The media have given the conservatives in the race as short a shrift as possible, promoting liberals as the frontrunners early on, and really trying to stuff Rudy, et. al. down our throats.

Now they are trying to spin them as conservatives.

(Sheeesh!)

If they can successfully brand us as a "hate" site, then any support we can muster for conservatives will be marginalized.

I do not see this letting up any time soon, and if they can get the perception out there that we are what they say, all the back page retractions in the world will not undo the damage they can do with headlines.

This is a war of idealogies, and I have little doubt our distaste for lawbreakers of any ilk, abortion, and having buggerers and other deviants teaching their kinks to kids has made us a few enemies out there.

After all, hating some things (evil, lawlessness, murder, mayhem, waste, perversion, and stupidity) is a virtue. Hating people is not.

YMMV

Be sure to make it “Washington” instead of NY. I sort of lost that in the translation. :)

Sweetie, have you taken a look at your own home page?

You use words of hate yourself.

Pot, meet kettle.

FYI ping.

Fox5 News drove right by the DC Chapter's Walter Reed Support Our Troops rally last Friday night without even a sidewards glance at us.

This must have been the story they were working on.

Casa de Maryland, a taxpayer funded group that assists illegal immigrants...

Using tax payer money to hire people to torment (pickett, etc.) American Citizens?

I have a definite problem with that.

How would disliking that be "hate"?

At best it is a gross misallocation of tax funds, at worst, treason.

“This is a smear tactic”

And an organized one, too....

These rumbles started over the weekend, I which tells me that someone is orchestrating the news again.

Not like we haven’t seen THAT before, eh?

We ARE a threat to the left, because we have been VERY effective at calling them out on their propogandic lies, and this site IS monitored by many in the media.

If they succeed in branding this a “Hate” site, then everything that comes from here, that counters leftist rhetoric and lies, is suspect.

Thought all of that was worth repeating. None of us should lose focus on those very things. Absolutely loved your tag-line, btw...You can lead a liberal to logic but you can't make him think. Ann Coulter would be proud!
