Any truthful reporting they are doing is reluctant, at best. They are still siding with the insurgents in trying to make out another Mei Lie II.

When will Gary Solis cast aside his need for publicity? He has joined the twisted agenda of the media and politicians since the onset of the Haditha investigations. As he is proven wrong on cases, he continues his attack on the Haditha Marines that remain. Solis sits in a comfy office bathing in the safety and liberties these Haditha Marines and their brethren before them have given their lives to protect.
His attacks on these Haditha Marines continue:

Solis again joins the ranks of the media to assault Our Haditha Marines. The insurgents are the parties responsible for the deaths in Haditha. The insurgents chose the time, the place and the civilian families in the Haditha engagement. GW you need to stand by these Marines. The insurgents and Islamic extremists are our enemy. They are the ones who need to be held accountable for the deaths in Haditha.
Again, the math of the media and Mr Solis seems to be lacking. Throughout the Haditha investigations it has been established that insurgents were eliminated by our Marines. My last count had it at eight. If Mr Solis wants to investigate, he may better use his time finding out how many of the women and children were terrorists. The twelve year old, Safah Younis,(I think I have the right name, who knows they all were lying) might be a good place to start!

The perpetrators are clear Mr Solis. Congressman John Murtha, Time Magazine, Tim McGirk and the MSM. The civilian deaths in Haditha were tragic but the injustice perpetuated by the media and politicians upon our military personnel is more tragic. Justice will be served when all the Marines are exonerated. I can say it Mr Solis, JUSTICE WILL BE SERVED WHEN ALL OUR HADITHA MARINES ARE EXONERATED.

Just saw a advertisement for 60 minutes on Sunday...said a Marine returns from Iraq and is charged with 18 murders. They didn’t mention any details whatsoever.

D'oh! How are they supposed to find out? Call a "time out" and ask the enemy what's in the building? Police in a America don't always know definitively what's in a building before the go in. The mere fact that some "journalist" (NewSpeak for idiot) writes such a sentence, betrays total ignorance of what happens in a WAR.

They were there, their lives were on the line, they did what they what they felt the situation required of them. If the powers that be want to avoid this kind of situation then set the rule of engagement to support early and effective responses to real or perceived threats. Let those we are dealing with no in no uncertain terms that the safety of our troops is top on our list, not the avoiding of collateral damage.
The enemy has used our PC drive to avoid collateral damage as just another arrow in their quiver of tactics. Opponents to the war in Iraq, or more correctly opponents to a victory by our side in Iraq, are quick to point to Vietnam and My Lai but there is no comparison. These troops were fighting for their lives with an enemy that will do anything, including maximizing the collateral damage to innocent civilians, to win. In My Lai the troops moved in and killed hundreds of unarmed civilians, the sort of thing our enemy in Iraq will do at the drop of a hat if it thinks it will help prevent locals from assisting our troops or if it thinks it will help intimidate a few more Congress Wooses into trying to give them a victory they can’t win on the battlefield.

Just the insistence on "24 civilians" shows that Solis has his head in the sand OR he is biased.
It’s just nuts that the cops in this country can engage in no-knock raids and if an innocent person in the wrong house gets killed it’s a “tragedy” but the cops can’t be blamed because they are waging a “war on drugs” against dangerous hoodlums. But soldiers in the middle of a freaking WAR ZONE are supposed to what, politely knock before entering a house next to where someone tried to BLOW THEM UP?
