The lawyer representing Governor Spitzer's embattled communications director, Darren Dopp, is lashing out at Senate Republicans, accusing their former political strategist, Roger Stone, of concocting the entire state police scandal.

The lawyer, Terrence Kindlon, said Mr. Dopp and the governor were victims of an orchestrated smear campaign comparable to the damaging "Swift Boat" attacks on the military record of Senator Kerry during the 2004 presidential race.

I recommend the recent Weekly Standard article about Spitzer. I had never read anything about his daddy’s money financing his entire career anywhere before.

Thanks for the recommendation, but most political junkies in NY know about it, IMHO.

Someone should tell this dude that his (spitzer’s) problems are with the law.

Running around crying like a child with ADHD behaviors is repugnant and demeaning.

Roger Stone? Wasn’t he the guy who posted nudie pix of himself and his wife on the internet in an effort to find “swingers”? Sheesh. I can’t believe people are still hiring that guy. And at $20,000 per month...?!?

I gotta get into the political consulting business. Heck, I’ve probably coughed up $2 million of free political consultation right here at Free Republic over the past year alone.

I’m having a huge “huh?!?!” moment, which means whereas my local rag has refused to print anything about Hsu/Hillary and moveon.org’s Petraeus ad, I guarantee this will be the headline in Saturday’s paper.

Spitzer lives way beyond his earning power....and has been doing so for the last ten years. Anyone who lives in New York and does government work...is likely in the same boat. You can’t survive off a $90k salary in the city, unless you live like regular people.

Eliot Spitzer is a dangerous, fascist swine, on the level of the Clintons (but without the Arkansas Mafia to back him up). I don’t care if his downfall is engineered or self-inflicted. It needs to happen ASAP before he gets a shot at the Presidency.

We/They must, must, MUST tie this story into the fact that Andrew and Elliot got a combined donation (funny china money) of $120,200 from Mr Norman Hsu. and have been dead silent on what they intend to do about it.

“B*tch set me up!”

Meanwhile the lie that the GOP “knew” as much as the DNC and the MSM about Mark Foley lingers on.
