WASHINGTON Simplicity Inc., a supplier of baby furniture to Wal-Mart Stores Inc. (WMT) and other big retailers, is recalling about 1 million Chinese-made baby cribs which have been linked to at least two infant deaths, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Friday.
The drop-side can detach from the crib, which can create a dangerous gap that leads to an infant being trapped and suffocated, the safety agency said in a statement. It urged parents to check all Simplicity-made cribs to ensure the drop-side is installed correctly.
The cribs, priced between $100 and $300, were sold by U.S. retailers and chains including Target Corp. (TGT), Big Lots Inc (BIG) and family-owned Meijer Inc.
"The drop-side failures result from both the hardware and crib design, which allow consumers to unintentionally install the drop-side upside down," the safety commission said. "This, in turn, can weaken the hardware and cause the drop-side to detach from the crib. When the drop-side detaches, it creates a gap in which infants can become entrapped."

Locking up of natural resources is about big green. Perhaps you've never looked at some of where big green's money goes? Take a look
here for a start.
Thanks to the clintoons, China leaped ahead almost a century. They also now have ICBM's thanks to billary. Pay attention to the man behind the curtain, sometimes there's a lot more going on than meets the eye, Lou Dobbs notwithstanding...

I’m with you on the ecotards, but I’d suspect we part ways on free trade.

Fair trade, I’m all for, free trade, my horns come out. Just for the record, I’m working on a project that is half owned by Dubai International. Like I said fair trade, not free trade. But then again if we all thought the same, we wouldn’t be America!

Seems to me it's always the libs whining about fairness. And yes, I know this is a cheap shot...

In all proper consideration of what's conservative, and will protect your freedoms, perhaps you'll help me on the next step by giving due dilligence
to this man for president...

I once got a PhD in experimental nuclear physics. Today, when it becomes necessary to assemble some piece of home hardware, I find the assembly instructions quite incomprehensible. I surmise that they were composed in Chinese by one Chinaman, and then translated into English, French, and German by various Chinese linguists. I have presently been able to get the things together after a struggle. Writing instruction books has become a lost art.

What? No Spanish to plow through? How'do ya buy anything without instructions in Spanish?
Do you ever have to push one for English? Just curious, here.

Please note (and I am far from a fan of China-made goods of any kind) that the cribs became dangerous due to USER error - People who are too dumb to follow the directions and install the drop gate RIGHT SIDE UP.
And don’t get me wrong - I would have no problem with tarrifs on Chinese goods (heck - the government could make enough on that to reduce our current taxes..., not that they would).
It is just that we don’t need to start blaming when it isn’t their issue (in this limited case).

What? No Spanish to plow through? How'do ya buy anything without instructions in Spanish? I set down some nail polish today because it was bilingual and bought the English-only stuff made in the U.S. And why the blank is everything in three languages now?
To: TheBattman
Yea, I see that now and you are right about blame. Mention China and I get jumpy.
