Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani finally filled out the rest of the Republican money picture, and if you're a stalwart for the GOP, it ain't pretty.
Giuliani raised $10.5 million in primary money, $11 million overall, which (barely) makes him the Republican money leader for the third quarter. And perhaps the best news for Giuliani supporters -- his campaign reports he will enter the critical final months of 2007 (when it's time to start buying all those television ads) with $16 million in cash on hand. That compares favorably to Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, who reported having about $9 million in cash on hand, and that was with an $8.5 million loan from his personal bank account.

I don’t know. Fred raised $8.5 million, and he’d only been a declared candidate for 3 weeks.
Looks like Mr. Giuliani is on the fast track to oblivion.
Good riddance to bad rubbish.
Ping.
TitansAFC - could you ping your Stop Rudy list? Thanks.
Ping.
Did I miss the part about FRed raising over 8 mil since he declared?
I’m under the impression that the $8.5 million or so covers the entire quarter, but that about $5 million or so of that amount was raised in the three weeks in the quarter that he declared. Which is a run rate of about $20 million on a quarterly basis.

Either way the repubs are wayyyyyy behind hillary and that idiot obama
“Probably the only candidate who can beat the Hildabeast by drawing a combination of independents and center-right...”
And lose 27% of the Republican vote to a third party run, getting less than 40% in a three-way race with Mrs. Clinton and a third party.
Yeah, that’s real electable.
LOL.

That’s only if the dough keeps on rolling in at the present rate. If Fred keeps spouting ultraConsrvative positions, the money from his Hollywood/NY elite buds will dry up.
Eleven million bucks ain’t enough cash to plaster lipstick on a liberal pig!
From what I’ve read, Mr. Thompson is getting contributions from over 70,000 separate donors.
I kinda suspect that they’re not all his “Hollywood/NY elite buds.”

A person who believes in the principles of law and order, the free market and being strong on the war against Islamo-facisim would have to be an idiot to vote for a 3rd party candidate and not for Giuliani if, in fact, it’s him vs. Clinton.
Because that would insure a Marxist President for the next 8 years who would try to turn this country into a socialist nanny -state.
Giuliani is the only Republican guaranteed not lose multiple southern states. Rasmussen just reported 27% of the Republicans would vote third-party of he gets the nomination. The Washington Post-ABC poll shows him 18% behind Hillary among informed voters. He’s a loser.
A Giuliani Presidency is far more likely to produce that. There is no stopping liberal legislation pushed by a RINO.
A person who believes in unalienable rights would have to be an idiot to vote for a “Republican” who believes:
- women have a constitutional “right” to procure the killing of their unborn children;
- the government should pay for this “right”;
- folks have little, if any, real rights to bear arms;
- gun manufacturers should be sued to pursue gun control strictures that couldn’t be had from the legislative process;
- homosexuals have a “right” to the legal equivalent of marriage;
- the state should be able to seize automobiles from folks ACQUITTED of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs;
- initially opposed the Bush tax cuts;
Because voting for such a person would be voting for a statist liberal. In that this person would also be the head of the Republican Party, it would leave to the destruction of the Republican Party as a force for conservatism.

Very true.
Well, I got news: You guys and Jim Dobson can better help the cause of less babies murdered, more fighting our determined enemy, and less evil taxation and enslavement by your government, if you quit already with the pubbie-bashing, promote your guy, and then vote in a way that maximizes our chances for conservative judges, good military leadership, and a government held somewhat in check. /rant
“Know what? I’m sick of this buncha babies that think bashing their party’s potential nominees that are not their own.”
I guess that Mr. Robinson is one of these babies?
“If you want to help OUR SIDE, instead of being a defacto HillaryBooster...”
Mr. Giuliani isn’t on our side.
“BTW, it’s been a while since I’ve thanked you Perotistas for BJC, so (insert applause).”
Sorry, I voted for Mr. Bush in 1992 and Mr. Dole in 1996. They may have been flawed candidates, but they weren’t liberals.
Mr. Giuliani is a liberal.

You can often find me on threads promoting my candidate, Mr. Thompson.
But I’m also firmly committed to defeating candidates who are evil. Mr. Giuliani is one. He just happens to pretend to be a Republican. My understanding is that was a quirk of fate - it was the Republicans who gave him work. If he'd have been originally hired as a gnome in a Democrat administration, he'd be running with a "D" on his back today.

Rudy ain’t on MY side.
If you want to promote liberals, take it elsewhere.
I’ll continue to fight against them, no matter the party label.
