There are some areas in which we certainly agree with Ron Paul. He killed himself in the debate in which he placed blame on our country.

As an aside, Ron Paul supporters will love this. We once had a poster here called gobillgo who was so obnoxious and disgusting that he had to be booted off this forum. He has recently written that Ron Paul is a convicted cocaine dealer. No, I am not making that up. I am not for Ron Paul, but to beat someone, spreading lies is unconscionable. That has always been the tactic of the left. gobillgo - he is as low as it gets.

Alex Jones' often is spooked by the "Bohemian Grove" in Sonoma County. I drove by the place last month and recognized the area from an Alex Jones piece he did on it.

In the "documentary", Alex Jones travels all the way to the Redwoods, interviews a bunch of locals who tell them that they don't see anything strange, yet Jones finds it compelling enough to still report and reinforce his tinfoil scull into still believing that there is some "New World Order" illuminati controlling the world who meet and conspire in the Bohemian Grove.

No...American history is not one of continued mass immigration. We've had long stretches with very little immigration. After the Revolutionary War, for nearly fifty years, there was practically no immigration at all. The U.S. grew rapidly through natural increase. And in 1840, the make-up of the white population in America (not the slaves) was almost excatly what it was in 1790: largely (60%) English, heavily (80%) British, and overwhelmingly (98%) Protestant.

After 1840, immigration flowed and ebbed about every 15 or 20 years: there were flows in 1851-54, 1866-73, 1881-83, 1905-07, and 1921-24. In between it dramatically ebbed.

These ebbs and flows made assimilation possible.

So did the fact that the ethnic composition of the immigrants after 1840 continuously changed. First it was mostly Irish; then German; by the end in the late 1800's and early 1900's, immigration was mostly from Southern and Eastern Europe.

Even with that...by 1924, Americans had enough of the 80 years of immigration...and drastically reduced it. After 1924, immigration was reduced to a trickle but that trickle was from Northern and Western Europe. Mass immigration did not resume again until after the 1965 Immigration Act...which, by the way, was shepharded through the Senate by the likes of Teddy Kennedy. And, its advocates assured the American public that it would neither dramtically increase the number of immigrants every year...nor would it alter the ethnic composition of America (I guess in those days...before PC took over, such things like the ethnic implications of immigration could be openly discussed)

What the bill will not do: First, our cities will not be flooded with a million immigrants annually. Under the proposed bill, the present level of immigration remains substantially the same. Secondly, the ethnic mix will not be upset . . . contrary to the charges in some quarters, [the bill] will not inundate America with immigrants from any one country or area, or the most populated and deprived nations of Africa and Asia

Teddy (and the other backers of the 1965 Immigration Act) were 100% wrong...or, they were lying. We now have for nearly 40 years had well over a million immigrants a year...immigration has dramatically altered the ethnic makeup of the nation...and we are inundated with immigrants from one area...namely Latin America

Why...more than 80 years after the nation decided (in 1924) that, with the western frontier of the US settled, the nation no longer needed mass immigration, why are we now taking in more immigrants than ever before in Amnerican history...especially, in light of the fact that the intention of the 1965 Act was not to increase the number of immigrants we had been taking in up until that point?

What do you like about it? Why do you want to see America changed? Is there something you don't like about America now? Is it too white?...to European for you?

I want no immigration now...after the longest immigration boom in American history...with explosive population growth over the last 20 years and a population that now exceeds 300 million and no labor shortages(especially among the low and semi-skilled Americans)...I will ask again...why do we need immigration?

I have seen 2, one on campus at Western Michigan University. Another while driving to Chicago, it had a picture of a baby in a fetus, and said, “Protect life, Vote Ron Paul” or something like that.

Also, I went to a local county fair here in Michigan, and at the Republican booth they had loads of Ron Paul stickers and yard signs, a few Romney yard signs, and a few McCain yard signs. That was it. I picked up a brochure they had about Michigan Fair Tax, and then walked away.

Eventually the few conservatives who support Paul (5% of Freepers, for example, by polls here) will realize that a nutcase who has no business being president can hold many good positions on the constitution.

Now that Paul is becoming a regular on Jones’ show, let’s see if the other candidates line up and appear there also.

Ron Paul is fatally flawed on the most important issue of our time, the War on Terror. All of the lives lost in Iraq would be for nothing if Ron Paul and his suicide monkeys were allowed to prevail.

I have been to too many "Support the Troops" rallys to allow pro-Ron Paul threads or posters to go unanswered here.

Um, you are aware that the massive growth that occurred after the Revolutionary War was from the progeny of immigrants, from the likes of Jefferson, Washington, Adams etc....

Unless you are a Native American, you are a product of an immigrant at some point.
