Wednesday Cloture Vote Set For DREAM Act Amnesty Bill (October 23) Last night, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) filed to invoke cloture on S. 2205, Assistant Majority Leader Dick Durbin’s (D-Ill.) new stand-alone DREAM Act amnesty bill. The cloture vote, for which 60 YES votes are necessary to prevent a filibuster on the measure, is set for Wednesday, October 24. Reid is attempting to bring this nightmarish amnesty bill to the floor under Senate Rule XIV without it ever having been debated in committee... Click here for more background on the DREAM Act.

It is imperative that NumbersUSA members call their senators today to ask them to vote NO on cloture for S. 2205.

Call your senators today to ask them to oppose the DREAM Act: 202-224-3121.

I actually called her office and congratulated her afterwards.

I looked for her name with Dems voting NO with Repubs on C-Span going on now.

Her name isn't there!

It tells you that she mut have changed her vote and it wasn't picked up by C-Span.

Sorry, but I think that's what happened.

Disgusting that KB Hutchison voted Yea. She obviously doesn’t care since she isn’t running for senator next time. I would never, ever vote for her for governor after this.

Bennett, Brownback, Coleman, Collins, Craig, Hagel, Hatch, Hutchison, Lott, Lugar, Martinez, and Snowe are pro-amnesty and should suffer some consequences for their vote. Craig and Hagel will be gone for sure. We need some conservative, real Reps to challenge the others in the primaries when they run.

Interesting that the following Dems understand what the political consequences can be for being pro-amnesty: Baucus, Byrd, Conrad, Dorgan, Landrieu, McCaskill, Pryor, and Tester. I find it particularly interesting in the case of Pryor and the importance of Tyson in AK. 12 Reps voted for cloture and 8 Dems voted against it. Unbelievable. If all the Dems had voted for cloture, the Dream Act would have been put up for the vote.

Closer they try to an election, the better.

To paraphrase Ahhhhhnnnnold, it’ll be back. Too many possible votes to buy with an election year coming up that scares the hell out of jackasses.

I got this Email from Sen Jim Inhofe of OK....

Dear Secure Borders Now Supporter,

You have been an incredible ally in the fight against amnesty for illegal immigrants. However, the more we struggle against the liberals’ amnesty agenda, the more obvious it becomes they will not be deterred. Today, our struggle continues: Senate Democrats are once again promoting the DREAM Act.

According to the Center for Immigration Studies, this legislation would mean amnesty for 2.1 million illegal immigrants already in our country. And what’s worse, it’s being sneaked through under the radar to avoid any accountability.

In only three weeks, over 90,000 citizens joined together to support “Secure Borders Now,” helping defeat the comprehensive immigration reform bill. Now, as liberals continue trying to slip amnesty through the Senate, we must quickly spread the word to even more people to achieve victory.

Please go to www.SecureOurFutureNow.com to get informed, spread the word, and see the list of Senators who urgently need to hear from you on this issue.

Thank you for all you do to stand up for our security and sovereignty,

Jim Inhofe

This is great news - thank you God!

Words cannot express my anger at the utter foolishness of bringing up this cloture vote for amnesty of illegals. Rewarding criminal behavior encourages more criminal behavior. People cannot begin their careers in America by breaking the law - and America with an $8 trillion dollar national debt cannot afford the cost. I am dismayed at the lack of understanding of this critical issue by a majority of U.S. Senators (no wonder their job performance is in the toilet).

I along with most other Americans are in favor of legal immigration for those who are willing to learn our language, culture, and invest the time and money required to become a U.S. citizen - but not for those who willfully break on our laws, spit on our country, demand benefits, and are not willing to go through proper channels to become an American citizen.

Those who voted “Aye” for this cloture vote need to be removed from office as traitors.

May this stay at the forefront to bring about Hillary Clinton’s defeat in a BIG way.

Great! Death to the dream!

If there are no jobs or other incentives, they won’t come and the ones that are here will leave. Self-deportation works and is a helluva lot cheaper for the US taxpayer.

Great! Death to the dream!

I posted this during the June 2007 battle, and it still rears its ugly head again under the guise of The Dream Act:

They need to finish off that amnesty for illegals bill and...

and maybe it will stay dead this time.
