Biden told supporters, in Sioux City, Wednesday night, that he would bring all combat troops home by March of 2008.
Joe Biden says the bottom line is simple... “get our kids out of Iraq.”
On this Fourth of July, the democratic presidential candidate told supporters, in Sioux City, that American soldiers are getting “chewed up” in the middle of Iraq’s civil war.
And, he has a plan to get America out. “Begin to draw down U.S. troops immediately,” Biden said. But, that’s just the start of Joe Biden’s plan to end U.S. involvement in Iraq. “Get them out of the civil war,” Biden said. “Allow those that stay only to train Iraqi Army, and guard U.S. forces.”
Biden would have all combat troops out of Iraq by March of 2008. But, the chair of the Senate’s foreign relations committee says there’s a difference between his plan... and those of his opponents. Biden claims his is the only plan with a “political” solution that returns control of the country to the Iraqis. “The only way this is going to work is if you de-centralize Iraq,” Biden said. “Give the local economies and the local districts control over their local lives.”
And, Biden says, stop trying to make one strong, central government. Biden believes it simply won’t work. “Let a federal system emerge,” Biden said. “That’s the only way we’re going to be able to leave Iraq without leaving chaos behind.”
Biden says the U.S. got into the war “for all the wrong reasons.” Now, he says, our obligation isn’t to the Iraqis... it’s to ourselves.

Honestly, this guy’s mouth is his downfall. I sure hope Hillary picks him as her mouthpiece.
Well, two things. Most of the suicide bombers ARE kids, who are sent forward by older Muslims who wouldn’t want to blow themselves up.
And Saddam DID have WMDs, and WAS working on nuclear development. Why the administration has let the view prevail that he didn’t, I’ll never understand. Tony Blair delayed the start of the war by six months, regretably, which Bush permitted because he needed the ally; and the Russians moved most of the stuff out of the country in that window of time.
Having said that, I can see why Fred wouldn’t want to get into an argument about it. It would be endless, and the Republican establishment has shown that it hasn’t the guts to back him up on it. They couldn’t even manage to confront Valery Plame directly.

Biden is an ass and completely didn’t understand Fred’s remarks. Yeah Biden, we’re fighting a bunch of poor little schoolchildren whose Mommies made them things that go boom-boom.
Biden’s son is deployed in Iraq.
I think a Thompson/Hunter ticket would be great. Hunter can keep on Fred’s ass about immigration if he’s Vice-President.
Besides, he gave up his seat to run for president. IMHO, Hunter really doesn’t have a shot at winning the nomination.
My son once had an RPG fired directly at him. Fortunately, it passed harmlessly bet6ween his legs and landed under his hummer, a dud. The kid was about 12 and is now very dead.
