The Right to Life is an UNALIENABLE right granted to us by God

Posted on 10/28/2007 3:07:40 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

The purpose of Free Republic is to fight for our freedom, for the constitution, for conservatism and for our traditional American heritage. We recognize that the domestic enemy of freedom is liberalism and big government socialism.

We recognize that our unalienable rights come from God not man or government and, no, they are NOT open to debate or subject to negotiation or compromise.

Sorry, RINOS, but the right to Life is our first unalienable right. This is not just a conservative political "principle" that stubborn right wing fringe nuts refuse to give up. It's an UNALIENABLE right granted to all men by GOD and no man or government can deprive us of same! Not without one hell of a fight!! Compromisers be damned!!

I can't believe I got in on the beginning of a JimRob thread for once! Usually I find it after several hundred posts have been made.

Wouldn't the founding fathers be stunned to know this was even an issue?

These are scary times - the GOP forgets this eternal truth at its peril.

Well said. Settling for some socialism under the pretense of appeasement and compromise is not conservatism. Holding your nose when voting is simply another way of saying a person is willing to cede fundamental beliefs to those whose only purpose is to take those beliefs from the people for the sake of power.

This fact escapes the many. A RIGHT TO LIFE, LIBERTY AND ... (Insert property or happiness here.)

It is the FIRST ONE!

Except to some of the pinheads on SCOTUS who have “divined” some right to privacy ahead of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Due to divided interest and attention of the Republican base I fear we are about 100 days away from having Rudy Giuliani as our nominee.

It is going to be the darkest of times for Conservatives because of the lack of cohesion early in this primary process.

I hope and pray a scenario plays out were Rudy is defeated in the next two months. If not, our choice is going to be Hillary or Rudy which is like choosing between hanging or electrocution.

And the Declaration of Independence identifies the existential purpose of government: to secure that certain unalienable right to life [and liberty and pursuit of happiness, which requires property rights] with which God endowed us when He created us in His image from the very moment of our conception.

Of course the meaning of simple words like “is” perplexes Democrats named Clinton, so it doesn’t surprise that they confuse “secure” with “destroy” and “God with “government.” But even some Republicans just don’t get it. What’s their excuse.

Does this mean you’re not supporting either Hillary or Rudy? (yes this is scarcasm)

My wife (the wonderful freeperette Tanusha) and I were discussing who we would vote for. We came down favoring Hunter with Thompson being a very acceptable 2nd. However when we spoke of the general election the choice became even clearer.

We would definitely vote for Hunter without any doubt
We would most assuredly vote for Thompson without doubt
We would vote for Romney, but not feel good about it
We could vote for McCain, but feel betrayed
We could vote for Hucklebee, but feel tricked
We could not vote for Rudy. We’d vote but leave the president unchecked. Our morals could not allow us to vote for someone that would probably increase the number or acceptance of abortion.

I have voted many times for less than satisfactory candidates to avoid a greater evil, but Rudy pushes our moral limit too far. I support is view on the war, but not his liberal social policies.

Our nation means too much to us to elect men that go against the will of God.
