Ron Paul Falls $1.37 Million Short Of October Fundraising Goal
Donklephant ^

Posted on 11/01/2007 2:48:09 PM PDT by mnehring

Yep. His goal was $4 million and he only has $2.63 million as of right now.

And while I’ve heard that there’s this “money bomb” coming on November 5th, even that seems as if it’s in doubt. In fact, the site doesn’t list the number of people who are going to pledge on that day, and as Free Market Newspoints out… With close to 10,000 signs ups, an informal sampling of Ron Paul supporters suggested that perhaps the money bomb effort was bigger than the sign-ups suggested, as not everyone who intended to give funds on November 5th was signing up.

Ron Paul supporters interviewed also suggested that the money bomb site offer a sign up sheet for those who wanted to give $50 or even $25. One Ron Paul supporter suggested for every sign up on the site, there were perhaps two or three supporters who intended to give on November 5th but who hadn’t signed up.

Hmm, yeah. Seems like wishful thinking to me.

So here’s a question: why did the Paul supporters make the money bomb for November 5th? Yeah, yeah, I get the “V for Vendetta” marketing tie, but not hitting that October goal has the potential to be fairly demoralizing for a lot of supporters.

And that begs another question: how deep is Ron Paul’s support? Having been part of the Dean campaign I can tell you that ultimately his support turned out to be very intense, but not very deep. Much like the Roniacs of today, Deaniacs were EXTREMELY vocal and appeared to be much bigger than they actually were. This draws media attention, but not the type of support you need to win a general election.

I guess we’ll see on November 5th.

Ron Paul doesn’t have a prayer of a chance of winning ANYTHING. He should gracefully bow out.

I think Paulistinians are far more obnoxious, bombastic and louder than were Deaniacs. In fact, many of them are the same people.

There are only so many kooks with X amount of disposable income. Maybe if they sold some more dope, asked their mom for a loan or traded-in their Playstations at Game Stop, Ron would make his goal!

In fact, many of them are the same people.

That explains why the Ron Paul and No War signs are on the same yards where I saw Howard Dean and No War signs 4 years ago. I just thought it was an amazing coincidence.

"Ron Paul doesn’t have a prayer of a chance of winning ANYTHING."

I wish that were true.

Prawn Paul doesn't have the nads to run for President and NOT for congress.

Unfortunately, just enough idiots in his district will re-elect him next November back to Congress.

Tough to "spam" donations and fundraising.

Also, Democrat plants don't contribute like authentic supporters.

And I don't know that Libertarians believe in that sort of thing...why would they be ruining our party otherwise?

Right..the guy is a typical..know it all. Frankly,
I am inclined to go with a double..H ticket .....
Huckabee and Hunter....but the MSM..will cut up any and
all Repubs...now and forever..so it will take a lot
of Freeper types to get the bandwagon rolling..or
else we’ll get rolled..right out of contention..JK

They are one-issue maniacs, but the one issue they champion happens to be a fatal one for them, in more than one meaning of the word.

I think you’ve stepped on your own lead here.

The real story is that some idiots actually GAVE $2.63M to RonPaul! Who in their right mind would do it at this point? I mean, is Dennis Kucinich getting $2.63M???

The real story is who the latest donors are and which party they have come from. Yep, I’m as suspicious as I am curious. I’ve been burned before.

Ron Paul will get committed before he becomes the RNC chair. MoveON and Soros are realizing their efforts are failing on pushing Paul, so they are pulling back on the purse strings.

Mike Huckabee is Bill Clinton with a clerical collar and an even bigger Bible. He considers everyone that wants our immigration laws to be enforced is a “racist” and would be worse than Jorge or Juan on letting in millions and giving them citizenship. http://www.diggersrealm.com/mt/archives/000718.html
